Chapter 454 Always Single

It had been more than half an hour since Gerald replied to that message.

Naturally, Gerald couldn't be staring at his phone. He sent that message on a whim and then forgot about it. By the time he checked his phone again, it was filled with work messages, and various pinned work groups had a lot of new messages.

Kathy's reply had long been buried underneath. So Gerald didn't see it at all.

While having breakfast, Stuart and Josephine came downstairs.

When Jeffery woke up and opened his eyes, Stuart was on his left and Josephine was on his right. It felt really good.

Jeffery was visibly happy, even humming while brushing his teeth.

Stuart said, "I finally see a bit of the innocence that belongs to his age."

Josephine also felt gratified, "Why don't we all sleep together from now on?"

Stuart looked at her in shock, "Absolutely not! He's old enough to keep some distance from his mom!"

Seeing him so scared, Josephine couldn't stop laughing.

The family sat together for breakfast, and the atmosphere was warm and joyful. Nicole looked like she was about to cry again.

How many years had she longed for this kind of happiness? Now, her wish had finally come true.

Afraid that the kids would see her red eyes, she quickly lowered her head to drink her soup.

Previously, when Stuart came to see Josephine, he would stay for just one night and then leave. But now, with the whole family here, they couldn't just come and go in such a rush.

However, they were only here to celebrate Josephine's birthday, and Gerald was so busy that they couldn't stay for long.

So after discussing with Josephine, they decided to stay one more day, as long as it didn't affect her work.

Josephine took the day off today, and they would stay one more night. Tomorrow morning, they would leave, and Josephine could return to work as usual.

The days of reunion always pass quickly, and happy days of reunion pass even faster. It seemed like in no time, they had finished breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the day was over.

Gerald had some rare free time, which he spent with his family, chatting, drinking coffee, and walking in the nearby park. Since his colleagues knew he was attending to family matters and was out of the country, they wisely refrained from disturbing him much.

After dinner, the family sat in the living room chatting. They were leaving tomorrow, and it seemed like there was an endless amount of things to say.

Ulysses suddenly suggested, "By the way, can we add Stuart to our family group chat now?"

Stuart immediately looked pitifully at Josephine.

Gerald said, "What's the rush? You guys aren't even married yet."

Josephine just smiled and didn't say anything.

Stuart had no choice but to say, "Then I still have to keep working hard."

As soon as he finished speaking, Gerald waved his phone at him, "Check your phone."

Stuart, puzzled, took out his phone and saw that he had been added to a group chat. He was a bit surprised, "Gerald?"

Gerald smiled, "Although you guys aren't married yet, it's only a matter of time. Considering your recent good behavior, but if you make Josephine sad, I'll kick you out anytime."

Nicole said from the side, "Alright, alright, why are you talking about making her sad?"

Stuart quickly said, "Nicole, don't worry, I will definitely love Josephine dearly."

Josephine just wanted to laugh when she heard that.

Gerald picked up his phone and casually scrolled down, then saw Kathy's message. She had sent it this morning, mentioning that she had a burger for breakfast.

Scrolling further, Gerald saw her previous messages: [Is it really you?]

Gerald couldn't help but chuckle.

The family all looked at him. Nicole asked, "What are you laughing at? We were talking about Jeffery's school."

Gerald put away his phone and touched his nose, "Nothing, keep talking."

Everyone started chatting again, and Josephine leaned over, "Gerald, you're acting weird. What did you do?"

Gerald glanced at her, "Nothing weird, don't talk nonsense."

"That laugh just now was weird."

Gerald ruffled her hair, "No, it wasn't."

Despite saying that, when he returned to his room, took a shower, and was about to sleep, Gerald still opened his phone and looked at the chat interface.

He typed and replied: [Yes, it's me.]

Just like yesterday, there was no reply.

Today, Gerald waited for a while, but there was still no response, so he turned off his phone and went to sleep.

Back home, when Kathy finished her work and checked her phone, she was shocked again.

Gerald had actually replied to her again!

But she hadn't seen it in time again! It had been more than half an hour since Gerald replied.

Kathy didn't know that Gerald was out of the country, nor did she know about the time difference, so she quickly replied.

But there was no response from the other side.

She waited for a long time, checking her phone from time to time, but there was still no reply.

Kathy sighed, feeling that she and Gerald were still very far apart. It was so hard to get a reply from Gerald, and she missed it twice. She felt so desperate!

She even had the urge to call Gerald.

Of course, she only thought about it and didn't dare to do it.

She stared at Gerald's message, reluctant to look away.

After a long time, Kathy finally gave up.

Forget it, Gerald was so busy, even if he saw her message, he might not have time to reply.

She was right; Gerald forgot about it the next day.

After returning home, Gerald got busy, traveling to several places for business, so busy that he didn't even have time to go home. Let alone chat with her.

But Kathy still sent a few messages every day, not too many and not too frequently, afraid that Gerald would get annoyed and delete her.

Previously, Josephine would tell her some things about Gerald, but now, Josephine was even busier than Gerald, so she couldn't keep up with her either.

After the family returned home, life seemed unchanged.

Jeffery started living alternately, two days at Nicole's house and two days with Andrew.

Fortunately, Stuart had the foresight to choose places that were not far apart.

Except for Josephine not being around, Jeffery felt his life was already very comfortable. He used to have only Josephine as a relative, but now he had so many more, and he no longer had to wander around without a stable home. At least to Jeffery, his previous life was not stable enough.

The days of separation were tormenting for everyone. Fortunately, after the hot summer, good news finally came from Josephine. The part of the project she could participate in was almost completed, and in a few days, she would wrap things up and come back.

As soon as he heard the news, Stuart didn't delay, immediately arranged his company's affairs, sent Jeffery to The Clarence Family, arranged for medical staff to take care of Andrew, and quickly boarded a plane to go abroad.

When Gerald got the news, Stuart had already left. He said, "He's really in a hurry."

Nicole said irritably, "What man wouldn't be eager to see his wife? It's just you, always single."
