Chapter 66 You're Just a Tool for My Desires
They were not speaking to each other again.
In fact, Josephine couldn't even remember when they started arguing.
Was it when Stuart and Liam fought?
Or when she caught him in bed with Doris?
Or was it when Stuart fought this time, and she scolded him?
Josephine wasn't sure.
In any case, even though they were at the Haustia Manor with Andrew trying to mediate, their relationship did not improve this time.
Stuart slept on the couch every night with a stern face and never climbed into Josephine's bed in the middle of the night anymore.
Moreover, he left early and returned late every day, so they barely saw each other.
This state continued until Harmony Day.
Originally, the cooperation project between Clement Hospital and the military base was scheduled for the Starlight Festival.
Due to a sudden notice that a major military exercise would be held after the Starlight Festival, the cooperation with the hospital was moved up to before the Starlight Festival.
In other words, after Harmony Day, Josephine would have to go to the military base with some of the hospital staff for a twenty-day special training.
The cooperation with the military base was an old tradition of Clement Hospital.
Many of the medical staff members looked forward to the military base, but some veteran employees knew that the so-called cooperation actually meant enduring hardships at the military base.
It was not recommended for those without perseverance to go.
Once there, they would eat, live, and train with the soldiers, and also teach them first aid knowledge, ensuring that every soldier in the training passed the first aid knowledge test.
So they were going there with a mission.
Josephine told Andrew about it, and Andrew was aware about it too; but he was still worried about Josephine.
Andrew said, "Can you handle it? If you don't want to go, then don't."
Josephine laughed. She assured him, "Grandpa, don't underestimate any surgeon. I have great endurance."
That night, Stuart came back very late and was surprised to find that Andrew hadn't gone to bed yet.
"You haven't slept yet?" Stuart asked. He pinched the bridge of his nose, looking a bit tired.
Stuart had a social event tonight, drank a few glasses of wine, and was then dragged to a club by Robin, so he came back late.
Perhaps, he didn't want to come back and face Josephine.
He didn't expect that he would have a day when he wanted to avoid her.
He didn't want to see Josephine because he was afraid she might suddenly say something he couldn't accept.
So every time he came back, Josephine was basically already asleep.
He didn't expect that tonight, the one waiting for him would be Andrew.
Andrew was full of anger. He scolded, "You still remember to come home?! Look at you, you don't act like a married man at all. Playing outside every day, it's only because Josephine has a good temper that she doesn't argue with you!"
Stuart thought, 'it's not that she doesn't argue with me, she simply doesn't care!'
Thinking of this, a strange anger rose in his heart.
However, before he could say anything, Andrew continued, "Tomorrow is Harmony Day. Stay at home. Josephine will go to the military base the day after tomorrow for twenty days. Show some concern for her!"
Stuart was taken aback. He asked, "She's going to the military base?"
Andrew gave him a disapproving look. He angrily remarked, "You don't care about Josephine at all! And you still want her to have your child?"
Hearing this, Stuart immediately thought of Josephine taking pills.
When he went upstairs, he found that, just like the past few days, Josephine was already asleep.
Stuart stood by the bed, quietly watching her sleeping face for a while.
He didn't know if it was because he had been looking at her for too long, but the more he looked at her face, the more he found it beautiful.
He couldn't help but reach out his hand; but just as he was about to touch Josephine, she moaned unconsciously and then turned over.
As she turned, the thin blanket got pressed under her legs, and her pajama top rolled up, revealing her slender waist.
The marks Stuart had left were all gone, and the skin on her waist was healthy and flawless.
Stuart felt his whole body heat up, his Adam's apple bobbing. It took all his self-control not to pounce on her.
He prided himself on his restraint, yet he was still despised by Josephine.
She repeatedly accused him of sleeping with other women.
Thinking of this made Stuart angry.
These days, they hadn't seen each other. When he came back, Josephine was already asleep, and when he left, Josephine hadn't woken up yet.
He admitted that he was deliberately avoiding her.
But if Josephine had any thoughts, it wouldn't be possible for her to do nothing.
Josephine went to bed early and woke up late every day, living a very leisurely life.
Stuart suddenly felt it was unfair. Why should he be so anxious while she was so carefree?
Moreover, he was a normal man with desires. As his wife, Josephine had the obligation to satisfy his desires.
Thinking of this, Stuart couldn't hold back anymore.
In a moment of impulse, he couldn't think of anything else. He directly got on the bed and reached out to hold Josephine.
In her sleep, Josephine felt increasingly hot and a tingling sensation behind her ear.
She reached out to touch and felt Stuart's face.
"Awake?" Stuart pressed on top of her, continuing to kiss her earlobe.
He was still angry and resolutely refused to kiss Josephine on the lips!
This was his last stand and bottom line!
Josephine woke up, and the first thing she said was, "Do you really want me to accuse you of marital rape?"
Stuart was furious. He angrily retorted, "Josephine! We are couple! Do you know how many days it's been since we last had sex?"
Josephine shouted, "Are you only thinking with your lower body? A few days without sleeping with a woman and you're so desperate!"
Hearing her mention his desires, Stuart laughed angrily. He scoffed, "Yes, but it seems I'm not the only one with desires."
As he spoke, he skillfully reached down, trying to find evidence that Josephine also had desires.
After all, as long as he kissed and licked her, Josephine's big eyes would become misty, and other places too.
However, as soon as his hand touched Josephine's waist, she grabbed his hand.
"What, afraid?" Stuart raised an eyebrow at her, teasingly. He remarked, "Forget about rape, this is clearly mutual consent."
"Who's given their consent with you?!" Josephine sneered. "Mr. Haustia, I'm on my period. Be careful you don't get a handful of blood."
Stuart looked at her angrily.
Counting the dates, indeed, Josephine's period was around these days.
His desire made him extremely uncomfortable.
He still pressed on her. He said, "Josephine, you really are..."
"Annoying, right?" Josephine finished his sentence. And she added, "Then please, Mr. Haustia, stay away from me. Your unfulfilled desire is making me doubt the truth of your words."
"There's no need to doubt," Stuart said coldly, "For men, sex and love are completely different. Sleeping with you doesn't mean I have feelings for you. It's just that you can satisfy my physical desires, nothing more!"
Josephine closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling slightly. She took a deep breath and said, "Get off."
Stuart immediately got up and walked to the bathroom with large strides.
Josephine pulled the blanket over herself, curled up on her side, and hugged her legs.
Early the next morning, Josephine went downstairs and heard Andrew arguing with Stuart.
