Chapter 224 Do You Hate Me?

Stuart felt as if his heart was being torn apart after hearing those words.

Knowing that Josephine had returned recently, he had been trying to seek her forgiveness.

From his perspective, her attitude seemed acceptable.

Andrew also said that if he persisted, there would be results.

Stuart originally thought her might have softened.

But after hearing those words, he realized he had no chance at all.

Her indifferent attitude was precisely because she could never forgive him.

If she cared about him at all, her emotions would've fluctuated.

He returned to his room in despair. When Vincent arrived, he found Stuart drinking!

"Are you out of your mind?" Vincent took the bottle and set it aside. "Do you want to be hospitalized again? What's going on?"

Stuart, already troubled, brightened up at this. " If I'm hospitalized, will Josephine come to see me?"

Vincent was silent, looking at him speechlessly. "You wouldn't intentionally drink yourself into the hospital, would you? Are you crazy? Chasing after her doesn't mean risking your life!"

Stuart glanced at him. "You don't understand."

Later on, Josephine was quite surprised when she received Andrew's call. "He's in the hospital?"

Andrew sighed. "His stomach isn't good, and he won't take care of himself. Josephine, I'm begging you; he's all alone in Celestia Springs. Can you help watch over him for a couple of days?"

With Andrew begging like this, what else could Josephine say?

When she went to the hospital, she directly hired two of the best caregivers and paid them upfront.

Then, she went to the ward and saw Stuart.

Stuart was usually in formal attire, but he was now in a hospital gown, lying pitifully on the bed and looking genuinely weak.

Josephine placed the fruit basket she bought at the hospital entrance on the table and asked him, "Why are you in the hospital?"

He looked at her eagerly. "Josephine."

She glanced at the bedside card and flipped through the treatment sheet, asking him, "Did you drink?"

He lowered his eyes. "I was feeling miserable."

"You shouldn't harm your body," She said, "Take good care of yourself. Grandpa called me, and I'll come to help if needed."

When he heard this, he thought, 'What do you mean by coming to help if needed? Shouldn't you be staying with me since I'm in the hospital?'

Seeing her standing there without any intention of sitting down, he panicked. "Josephine, have a seat."

She smiled. "No, I have things to do. By the way, I hired two experienced caregivers for you. Just tell them if you need anything."

After saying that, she left. The two caregivers stood on either side of the bed. "Mr. Haustia, let us know if you need anything!"

He was speechless. He closed his eyes, waved his hand, and took a deep breath before saying, "Call the doctor. I want to be discharged!"

When Josephine returned to the hotel from the research institute, she found Stuart sitting at her room door.

She frowned. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in the hospital?"

Stuart wasn't entirely faking it; his stomach was indeed bad, and he hadn't eaten properly for two meals.

He was somewhat pale, and his mouth corner was bruising a bit. He looked quite pitiful.

He didn't speak, and when Josephine opened the door, he got up and followed her in.

She hadn't said anything yet when he lay down on the sofa and said, "I feel terrible."

She put down her bag, washed up, and then ordered food. Only then did she look at him. "Is this a hospital?"

"No," He said, "I just feel better when I see you."

She smiled and said nothing, taking out her phone to look at it.

He didn't speak, either. After a while, the food arrived, and Josephine ate her fill alone. She then asked him, "When are you leaving? I'm about to rest."

He said, "Josephine, do you hate me?"

She shook her head directly. "I don't hate you anymore. Only love breeds hate, and only expectations breed resentment. I'm very satisfied with my current life, so why be unhappy?"

When he left, his back was filled with loneliness and solitude.

Closing the door, Josephine felt relief.

With Jessica keeping Rex in check and things clear with Stuart, her days ahead would be peaceful.

She didn't know how Jessica got the news. Anyway, she wanted to thank the person who passed on the message.

Robin also got the news.

Rex had Jessica call him back. As for Stuart, he returned to Hustalia overnight.

The next morning, Josephine saw Robin.

Robin had liked her for so many years, but when it came to confessing, he couldn't do it.

It seemed that this affection had turned into an obsession.

The thing he wanted to possess but lost unexpectedly kept haunting him.

Josephine didn't know what he was thinking, but she remembered his actions before. Seeing the way Robin looked at her, she felt disgusted.

From Donna, she learned that Robin actually liked her.

However, Josephine still doubted Donna's words, even thinking she was talking nonsense.

Either way, she had to avoid his affection at all costs.

She was extremely disgusted with him, thinking back to the time abroad when she was drugged and Robin suddenly appeared.

Even though she had cut his artery at that time, thinking about it now still scared her.

Robin was sinister, cunning, and disgusting.

So, she totally ignored him whenever they met.

But Robin, seeing her, had a burning and eager look in his eyes.

At that time, he was just a step away from possessing her.

His years of obsession were almost fulfilled, making him even more fixated.

As for Josephine, she just wanted to stay far away from him.

Seeing her avoiding him without even a greeting, his anger surged. "Josephine! Stop!"

Just as he was about to approach two men suddenly appeared and blocked him.

Robin shouted, "What are you doing!"

One of the men said, "Sir, please stay away from Dr. Kalmien."

After saying this, they let him go, not doing anything else but giving him a warning look.

Then, they followed behind Josephine.

It seemed they were specifically there to protect Josephine, acting as her bodyguards.

Not being able to talk after finally seeing her, Robin was extremely angry.

To Josephine, seeing him made her realize she hadn't seen through his true nature before.

Now, seeing him made her feel like she was going to throw up yesterday's meal.

Robin, having failed, came up with another plan.
