Chapter 139 Harassing the Ex-Wife Shamelessly

He deliberately sat next to Josephine.

Josephine instinctively scooted over, but they were still close.

From the moment William walked in, Stuart's cold eyes were glued to him.

Stuart had planned to act intimately with Donna in front of Josephine, but now he completely forgot about it and didn't even touch the food in front of him.

The tables were close, and William's voice occasionally drifted over.

"Try this; it's delicious."

"Drink this soup slowly; it's hot."

"You like this dish? I'll learn to make it for you next time."

"Don't move; let me wipe that for you."

Stuart's plan was to make Josephine jealous.

But it backfired. Josephine didn't react much, and Stuart was grinding his teeth in frustration.

Not only was she not jealous, but he was also extremely envious!

As for William, he had no right to fawn over Josephine.

But on the way here, he got instructions from Laura.

Even if it was an act, for William, it was a dream come true.

He originally wanted to be good to Josephine.

At first, he approached Josephine with other motives, then after getting to know her, his feelings changed.

Now he could get close to Josephine and hit Stuart where it hurt, killing two birds with one stone. Why not?

Thinking of that, William smiled softly. "Josephine, when we go abroad, I can cook anything you want."

Seeing Stuart's murderous look, Laura secretly gave William a thumbs up to praise his acting skills.

Claudia asked, "You grew up abroad, how come you're so good at cooking?"

William smiled. "I grew up with my mom. She wasn't in good health, so I did the cooking when I was young."

Claudia nodded, then asked, "Is your mom still abroad?"

Josephine immediately spoke up, "Claudia, don't ask."

Claudia was puzzled. "Why not?"

"It's nothing; don't worry about me," William first looked at Josephine, then answered Claudia, "My mom has passed away."

"Oh, I'm sorry." Claudia quickly apologized.

William smiled. "It's okay. It happened many years ago. I'm used to it."

Stuart, seeing Josephine's comforting gaze and hearing her defend William, couldn't take it anymore.

He stood up without a word and walked over to Josephine's table, staring straight at her.

Laura couldn't hold back. "Stuart, are you crazy?"

Laura's acid-tongued remarks were something Stuart was already used to.

He ignored her and looked directly at Josephine. "Come with me, or I'll flip this table in front of everyone. Your choice."

"Flip the table? I'm so scared!" Laura patted her chest. "Go ahead and flip it! I'll record a video and post it online, titled 'Billionaire CEO loses his temper, harasses ex-wife shamelessly!'"

"Shut up!" Stuart glared at her.

Laura rolled her eyes. "Can't win an argument so you tell me to shut up. Is that all you can do as a man?"

Stuart was almost driven mad by her. But flipping the table was just a threat; he couldn't actually do something so undignified.

He looked at Josephine. "Come with me!"

Josephine calmly looked at him. "Have you had enough?"

Stuart looked at her in disbelief.

In the past, it was always him saying this line.

Now, she was using his words against him.

Stuart didn't think he was being unreasonable at all.

He pointed at Josephine. "I'm giving you one last chance."

"No need." Josephine smiled. "Stuart, you had emotional affairs during our marriage, flirted with others, and ignored me. Each of these is unforgivable. Divorcing you was a relief for me. I can't tell you how happy I am."

She lowered her eyes, then quickly looked back up at him.

Her gaze was indifferent. "Mr. Haustia, let's not have any more interactions in the future. Goodbye forever."

After saying that, she stood up and left.

William was stunned for a moment, then grabbed her bag and coat and chased after her.

The entire restaurant was silent; everyone heard what Josephine said clearly.

After the silence, people started whispering.

"Look at that man, so handsome, but he cheated and ignored her!"

"Yeah, he's really not a good person!"

"He's divorced and still harassing his ex-wife!"

"Look at how confident he is, coming to find his ex-wife with his mistress."

"Where does he get that confidence? He's making all men look bad!"

The voices grew louder, each word hitting Stuart's ears.

Donna bit her lip, tears in her eyes, and called out softly, "Stuart."

Stuart stood there like a statue, unresponsive.

Donna gritted her teeth, stomped her foot, and ran off.

She couldn't bear the humiliation!

She hadn't gained anything and was scolded by everyone!

A long time later, Stuart walked out of the restaurant, looking dejected.

He got into the car without saying a word. Seeing his bad mood, the driver didn't dare ask anything.

After a long time, he finally spoke, "Is emotional cheating something no wife can accept?"

The driver didn't dare speak; he wasn't sure if Stuart was asking him.

Until Stuart looked at him. "Answer me!"

The driver shivered, a bit nervous, but still told the truth, "Whether it's emotional cheating or physical cheating, no wife can accept either."

Stuart asked, "Even if she really likes her husband?"

"Mr. Haustia, love is like the oil, minerals, and jewels we extract. It's not infinite. Once some is consumed, there's less of it. If you only consume it, it will definitely decrease."

Stuart looked at him.

The driver rubbed his nose, a bit embarrassed. He knew some of the issues about the Haustia family.

He added, "Maybe it's not my place to say this, but when Mrs. Haustia rode in the car before, I could tell she was in a lot of pain. Women don't divorce easily, but once they decide to, it's because they've been deeply hurt."

Stuart blurted out, "Shut up!"

The driver immediately fell silent.

Stuart's face showed nothing, but inside, he was in turmoil.

Even the driver could see the problem, but he hadn't realized it before.

Was it really his fault? But Josephine had someone she liked too.

No, Josephine liked him! Her diary proved it.

But Josephine later said the person she liked was abroad.

Maybe her love for him really disappeared, and she liked someone else.

Thinking of this possibility, Stuart felt a sharp pain in his heart.

After a long time, he spoke, "Take me to Jair's place."
