Chapter 237 How Could I Forget My Son's Birthday
Andrew wasn't surprised and said, "Didn't you say you were busy?"
When Stuart found out Robin was at Andrew's place, he didn't want to come back.
But then, out of nowhere, Andrew called Josephine over.
Stuart rushed over as soon as he heard.
He couldn't believe Robin still had the nerve to accuse him of revenge.
Stuart thought that if he were as heartless as Robin, he wouldn't have spared the Bailey Family at all.
Right now, he was only going after Robin and hadn't touched the Bailey Family.
It was his own kindness that let Robin act like a mad dog, barking in the Haustia Family.
"Perfect timing!" Robin snapped, "We've been friends since we were kids, over 20 years of brotherhood. And just because of Josephine, you want me dead?"
Stuart didn't even look at him.
From the moment he found out the truth, Robin was dead to him.
He turned to Andrew, saying, "I'll decide if he's wrong, and I'll consider our relationship with the Bailey Family."
Andrew replied, "Considering everything, you still did this. I'm afraid..."
Then he glanced at Robin. "I trust Stuart. He's always been fair."
Robin fumed, "So you don't trust me? You know better than anyone that Stuart and Josephine don't get along! Their divorce is inevitable! You know who Stuart really loves, which is why you pushed them to have a kid, afraid they'd split, right?"
Josephine looked at Andrew, stunned.
Stuart was shocked too.
They'd been pretending in front of Andrew, scared he'd see through their strained relationship.
Could it be that Andrew had known all along?
The room went silent for a few seconds, then Josephine spoke up, "Grandpa, if there's nothing else, I'll leave now. I have things to do."
Andrew sighed, eyes closed, then looked at Josephine. "Josephine, I always hoped you two could stay together. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep you."
Andrew's eyes turned red.
For a moment, Josephine's eyes welled up too.
She couldn't stand seeing him like this and quickly said, "Grandpa, I understand. I'll leave now and come see you another day!"
Robin had wanted Andrew to use the family ties to pressure Josephine into persuading Stuart.
But before he could say much, Josephine left.
He was both anxious and angry, glaring at Stuart. "The real reason for your divorce with Josephine is that you like someone else. Now you're blaming me? Do you think this way, she'll forgive you?"
Stuart looked at him coldly. "Whatever happens between her and me is none of your business anymore. Robin, take care of yourself from now on."
He then turned to Andrew. "Grandpa, I'm going to chase after Josephine. No matter what, I'll do my best to bring her back for you!"
Andrew waved his hand, and Stuart turned and left.
Robin wanted to say something, but Andrew cut him off, "I'm old now, and I won't meddle in you young people's affairs. Robin, one must be upright. I trust Stuart wouldn't target you for no reason. Our families are close, but not so close that I would go against my own grandson for you."
Robin gritted his teeth. "So you don't trust me anymore?"
"I trust Stuart more. He's the kid I raised, and he knows what's right. You should leave. Instead of arguing here, figure out your situation and make things right."
Stuart ran after Josephine, who hadn't gotten into her car yet.
"Josephine!" Stuart called out.
At first, Josephine didn't want to deal with him, but after a moment, she turned around. "Grandpa's health isn't great, so don't make him worry about this stuff anymore."
"Don't worry, I won't let anyone disturb him again," Stuart replied.
Josephine was about to get into the car.
Stuart stepped closer, wanting to grab her but hesitated. "Josephine, can I ask about the child?"
Josephine turned back. "Child? My son? What do you want to know?"
"His birthday," Stuart said, looking desperate. "When was he born?"
Josephine replied, "My son's birthday has nothing to do with you, right? But since you asked, I'll tell you."
She gave him a date.
Stuart didn't know much about pregnancy timelines, but if Josephine's son was his, it would have to be from when he had imprisoned her.
It took about ten months to have a baby. If he did the math, the child's birth date should be two months earlier than what Josephine just said.
Even if Stuart was clueless, he knew a baby couldn't stay in the womb for more than twelve months.
"Are you sure?" Stuart grabbed her arm. "Is this date correct? Was he really born on that day?"
Josephine shook him off. "Are you crazy? How could I forget my own son's birthday!"
"I don't believe it!" Stuart's eyes turned red. "You left me for two months and had a child with someone else? Josephine, you're not that kind of person."
"Yes." Josephine looked at him. "At that time, I hadn't gotten over the divorce. The child was an accident. I got drunk and had a fling, and later found out I was pregnant."
"I don't believe it! It's not like that!" Stuart felt like his heart was being crushed, the pain making it hard to speak. "Josephine, tell me it's not true."
"It is true." Otis, who had come out of the car, stood by the driver's seat. "I can vouch for that."
"Alright, Otis, let's go," Josephine said.
Stuart was drowning in sorrow.
The car slowly disappeared from his sight.
"Stuart, our twenty-plus years of brotherhood, and you treat me like this." Robin's voice came from behind him.
Stuart tried to suppress the pain in his heart and spoke coldly, "Did you think of me as your brother when you did those things?"
"Josephine is just one woman!" Robin roared, "You can always find another woman! But where will you find another brother of over twenty years?"
"Robin, you're ridiculous." Stuart didn't even want to look back at him. "I have plenty of brothers, at least a dozen I've grown up with. But there's only one Josephine. Who do you think you are to compare with her?"
"Stuart!" Robin yelled.
Stuart added, "If you don't want the Bailey Family's business to disappear from Hustalia, go ahead and cause trouble in front of me. But I believe the Bailey Family knows what to do."
Stuart finished speaking and got into his car to leave.
Robin was furious. "I won't accept this! Stuart! Just you wait! I won't give up!"
