Chapter 165 Self-Moved

Josephine shook her head. "I'm not throwing a tantrum."

"Don't say that," Stuart replied. "I'll talk to Robin. If he keeps treating you badly, I won't stand for it."

Josephine found it ironic and even laughed.

Stuart continued, "No one will disrespect you anymore. Given our relationship now, they wouldn't dare."

Josephine asked, "So, the way they treated me before was really under your orders?"

It wasn't, but Stuart's attitude had definitely encouraged their behavior.

Stuart could only apologize. "I promise it won't happen again. If you're still upset, I'll make them apologize to you in person when we get back."

Josephine asked, "Will you apologize to Liam?"

Stuart was taken aback.

Josephine continued, "Since we got married, you've never been nice to Liam."

Stuart retorted, "He was never nice to me either."

"Let's not discuss this; it's pointless," Josephine said. "Stuart, I can tell you clearly now, no matter what you're thinking, I never intended to remarry you. I haven't had feelings for you for a long time."

"I don't believe it!" Stuart panicked. "It can't be true!"

Before Josephine could respond, he added, "Josephine, I know you're angry with me, and I know I've done a lot wrong. You have every right to blame me. But can you give me another chance? I'll prove I won't make the same mistakes again."

"Not all mistakes can be fixed," Josephine said. "Just like the past three months, not seeing or contacting each other was actually good."

"Not good at all!" Stuart's eyes welled up with tears. "You have no idea what kind of days I've been living! I can't eat and sleep. I've been like this, and you still won't forgive me?"

Josephine said. "We've been apart for just over three months, and you're already feeling bad.. But you don't know, I've lived like this for three years."

Stuart fell silent.

Josephine continued, "Three months of suffering made you think you're affectionate. You only focus on your emotional needs, never considering my feelings. You think you're noble, but I just find you selfish."

Josephine's words shattered all of Stuart's thoughts.

"No, it's not like that," he said, panicking and shaking his head. "I didn't just think about myself. I respect you."

Josephine asked, "If you respect me, you should consider my feelings. I said I don't like you anymore. Did you hear that?"

Stuart was anxious. "It can't be like that."

Josephine said, "For things you don't want to hear or results you don't want, you automatically ignore them and impose your thoughts on me. That's not respect, that's not love, and that's not knowing you were wrong."

Her words hit Stuart hard.

Josephine was right. He thought that once he realized his mistakes and corrected them, Josephine would forgive him. They would get back together.

But the truth was, Josephine had no obligation to wait for him or forgive him.

Stuart recalled that since their divorce, even after realizing his mistakes, he had only apologized verbally. Whether it was admitting his mistakes, apologizing, or trying to win her back, he had never taken any real action.

No wonder Josephine didn't believe him.

Stuart was silent for a few seconds before speaking, "I understand."

He had even thought about using sex to keep Josephine tied to him. Now it seemed ridiculous.

Seeing him take a couple of steps back, Josephine finally sighed in relief. "I'll stay here. I hope you won't interfere."

Stuart needed to face reality.

"What about your safety?" Stuart asked.

"You weren't here for the past three months, and I was fine," Josephine replied.

"Alright," Stuart said.

"You also need to figure out how to handle William's situation," Josephine added.

"I'll go check on him," Stuart said.

When Stuart went downstairs, William was still arguing with Andrew.

It all stemmed from Elbert's actions.

On the phone, Andrew was cursing his disobedient son, Elbert.

Elbert had an affair, and Andrew had sent William's mother, Melissa, abroad. That was the cause.

William's obsession and desire for revenge against the Haustia family were the results.

Right or wrong, it was hard to judge.

It's often said that even the most honest officials find it hard to be impartial in family matters, as personal feelings can easily lead to biased decisions. This was certainly true.

Andrew said firmly, "You think you're wronged and innocent, but Stuart is also innocent. He indeed grew up privileged, but he's the grandson of the Haustia family. His parents had a legitimate marriage and gave birth to him, so he deserves everything from the Haustia family. And your mother could have sought my help back then."

William sneered. "Help? And then what, have my mother get an abortion? After all, I'm just an illegitimate child, unworthy of being in this world."

Andrew frowned. "You've achieved success in your career now. I'm sure your mother would be very proud of you. Why do you need to do this?"

William said, "My mother's years of suffering can't be in vain. I was bullied and humiliated since I was a child, and that can't be in vain either."

"Your mother should have anticipated these situations before she gave birth to you, but she insisted on having you. Everything you encountered afterward started because of her." Stuart walked over step by step, his voice cold. "She knew the child in her womb was the result of an affair. She wouldn't have kept you if she didn't want to. You said she was forced by my dad. If it was really forced, she wouldn't have kept my dad's child."

William was furious. "What do you mean? Do you think my mom wanted to be a mistress?"

Seeing his eyes filled with rage, Stuart sneered. "Of course, no normal person would keep a rapist's child."

Andrew interjected, "Alright, things are the way they are now. There's no point in pursuing it further."

William said, "There's no point, but don't shamelessly put all the blame on a woman. Elbert was also at fault. He wasn't forced; he couldn't control his desires..."

Out of the corner of his eye, William saw a figure at the staircase and continued with a sneer, "Like father, like son. Elbert was like that, and Mr. Stuart Haustia, you're no different. During your marriage, you had countless lovers. According to you, were all those lovers willing? Did they force you to sleep with them?"

"Don't talk nonsense!" Stuart shouted angrily, "Just because your mind is filthy doesn't mean everyone is like you."

William sneered. "Elbert cheated during his marriage, and you followed his example. I only regret that my mother didn't have the courage to expose Elbert's misdeeds!"
