Chapter 138 She Just Felt Nauseous

Claudia teased, "Laura, you look like a big boss from a novel!"

Laura flipped her hair. "That means I could be an actress! Just wait, I'll be a Hollywood superstar!"

Josephine watched them with a fond smile.

Doris, standing nearby, didn't even get a glance.

Doris was having a rough time lately.

During the Starlight Festival, Stuart gave her an expensive gift.

But after that, he ghosted her.

No replies to her messages or calls.

When she tried to visit him, she couldn't even get into the top-floor CEO office she used to access freely.

She finally made it to the underground parking lot, hoping to catch him.

But when Stuart saw her, he looked at her like a stranger, got into his car, and left.

Doris was losing it.

If she hadn't gone through all this, she would've only fantasized about a guy like Stuart, never daring to dream too much.

But Stuart showed interest first.

Even with the bad reputation of being a mistress, she didn't care.

Beyond Stuart's family background and looks, she realized she truly loved him.

She just loved someone she shouldn't have; that wasn't her fault.

Later, she found out about Josephine's outburst at the company's shareholders' meeting and her divorce drama.

At first, she was thrilled.

Josephine's actions were self-destructive, trampling on Stuart's dignity and face, leaving her with no chance of recovery.

She thought, 'After the divorce, Stuart would come to me, and I can finally rise to the top.'

Unexpectedly, Stuart seemed to have forgotten about her.

Later, the people Doris hired saw Josephine and Stuart meeting several times after the divorce.

She overheard someone saying that Josephine's divorce was part of a scheme, a conspiracy.

Apparently, Stuart fell for it.

It must have been Josephine who said something to Stuart, making him ignore her.

That's why Doris harbored such malice towards Josephine.

Moreover, with Josephine and Stuart divorced, her status was no longer beneath hers.

Finding out they were coming here, Doris came over and vented her anger on Josephine.

What she didn't expect was that Stuart also came, so she naturally put on a weak, bullied look.

However, seeing Donna next to Stuart, she felt a strong sense of crisis.

'Who is this? Why does she seem even better at playing the weakling than me?' Doris pondered.

Without hesitation, she looked at Stuart with tear-filled eyes.

Stuart didn't know what to do. He had called Robin to bring Donna here to make Josephine jealous.

But upon arriving at the restaurant, he first saw Doris.

That was bad enough, but Josephine and her two friends were watching the drama unfold with excitement.

'Waiting to see me make a fool of himself? impossible!' Stuart thought to himself.

The priority was to get Doris out of here.

Luckily, Stuart's driver and bodyguards were outside. He made a call, and within two minutes, someone came in, grabbed Doris by the arm, and escorted her out.

Josephine was surprised by Stuart's roughness. He used to be so gentle with Doris.

She still remembered how he once carried Doris to the hospital.

But seeing the girl next to him, Josephine sneered, thinking she had figured it out.

It wasn't that Stuart didn't know how to be gentle; he just found a new replacement more like his first love.

Doris was no longer useful.

Josephine was glad she got out of this mess. If she still loved Stuart, seeing him with another replacement today would have been painful.

But now, she just felt disgusted.

Seeing Josephine's strange expression, Stuart thought his plan was working.

He turned to Donna and said softly, "You said you liked the food here. Should I buy the restaurant for you?"

Donna smiled but cursed inwardly, 'I've never said I like the food here. Stuart has a habit of making things up.'

But she knew how to play along.

She smiled and said, "No need, I'm already very satisfied just coming here occasionally."

Laura, standing nearby, gagged. "What kind of dramatic plot is this? I'm so embarrassed!"

Claudia shook her head. "Even novels don't write like this anymore. It's too dramatic."

Josephine propped her chin, puzzled. "Aren't they embarrassed standing there? Everyone in the restaurant is watching them."

Hearing the three of them openly commenting, Stuart's face darkened.

He realized he was so focused on making Josephine jealous that he forgot this was a public place.

Talking about buying the restaurant might be a small thing for him, but to ordinary people, it sounded pretentious.

Even though Stuart usually had no expression, he looked a bit embarrassed now.

Laura didn't care and laughed heartily.

Stuart, angry, walked over and grabbed Josephine's wrist. "Come with me!"

Josephine shook him off. "I'm eating. Besides, aren't you afraid of hurting the girl next to you?"

Stuart was delighted. "You're jealous."

Laura chimed in, "Josephine is definitely not jealous."

Claudia burst out laughing.

Josephine struggled to hold back her laughter.

Stuart's face turned ashen.

A waiter nearby awkwardly asked, "Sir, would you like to order?"

Stuart grabbed the menu and sat at the table next to them.

Donna quickly followed.

Laura raised an eyebrow. "Just wait, he's in for more trouble."

Josephine said, "Hurry up and eat, then we'll leave."

"What's the rush," Laura said, "Liam hasn't arrived yet."

"We'll eat somewhere else," Josephine said, "Out of sight, out of mind."

"No way," Laura said, "I've seen enough today. One Doris leaves, another woman comes. How about we fight back for all the times he bullied you?"

Josephine asked worriedly, "What are you going to do?"

Laura said, "Just watch."

Within ten minutes, William arrived.
