Chapter 426 What Does She Mean by This
Seeing with her own eyes that Josephine was unharmed, Nicole finally felt relieved. But she couldn't help herself and hugged Josephine tightly. "You scared me to death."
"I'm fine, Mom. I'm sorry for making you worry."
"As long as you're okay."
Josephine linked arms with Nicole and led her into the hospital room, while the driver who followed them put down their belongings.
When Stuart saw Nicole, he tried to sit up, but Josephine held him down.
Nicole also said, "Don't move. You have injuries; you need to be careful."
Nicole asked about his condition and finally said, "From now on, you two both take two bodyguards when you go out. I'll cover the cost of the bodyguards!"
"Nicole, I'll take care of it," Stuart said. "You don't need to worry."
Stuart could clearly sense that Nicole's attitude towards him today was very different from before. It seemed, as Josephine had said, that through this incident, Nicole's impression of him had changed somewhat.
Stuart felt that his injury this time was really worth it.
To avoid worrying his family, Stuart kept it from them, including Jeffery, whom he didn't tell either.
However, for the next few days, the two of them definitely wouldn't be able to pick up and drop off Jeffery.
Josephine specifically called him to tell Jeffery that she and Stuart had gone out of town for some business. It might take a few days before they could return.
On the third day, Stuart was able to be discharged from the hospital. Josephine went home with him directly.
It was also the place where she had already stayed for two nights.
Originally, Stuart had planned to bring Andrew over soon. But now, with this incident, it seemed it would be delayed a few more days.
However, Stuart felt that the various treatments he was enjoying now could really make him swell with pride.
Josephine took great care of him, attending to his every need. Stuart only had an abdominal injury, but Josephine took care of him as if he were completely incapacitated.
Stuart felt he was already fine, but after he was discharged, Josephine still made him stay in bed and wouldn't let him move around.
"Aren't you a doctor?" Stuart said helplessly. "You must see injuries like this all the time, right?"
Josephine said, "I am a doctor, but I've never had a patient who was my lover before."
Stuart understood. He reached out and pulled Josephine into his arms.
Josephine carefully pushed him away. "Watch out! Your wound!"
"It's okay," Stuart insisted, holding Josephine tightly. "I'm not that fragile."
"You need to..."
Before Josephine could finish her sentence, Stuart kissed her on the lips.
Although they had been together these past few days and Josephine had been taking care of him closely, there had been almost no intimate contact. Mainly because Josephine was worried about Stuart's wound and wouldn't let him do anything.
Now that they were home, Stuart couldn't hold back any longer. After a long kiss, he finally let go of Josephine. Both of them were a bit breathless, especially Josephine, who always went weak in Stuart's arms whenever they kissed. She leaned against Stuart's uninjured side. It took them a while to catch their breath.
In the evening, Stuart suggested taking a shower.
Josephine sternly refused him. "No. Although the wound is healing well, the stitches haven't been removed yet. It's best not to do anything strenuous."
Stuart laughed. "Since when did taking a shower become strenuous exercise?"
"For the wound, anything other than lying in bed counts as strenuous exercise."
"Did Dr. Kalmien give the same advice to other patients?"
Josephine shook her head. "I don't care about other patients."
Stuart felt happy inside. He said, "But I'm really uncomfortable. Even though I've been wiping my body these past few days, I still want to take a proper shower. The wound will be fine; there's a waterproof dressing."
No matter what he said, Josephine wouldn't agree. In the end, Stuart had no choice but to say, "But what if I'm uncomfortable? If I don't take a shower, I won't be able to sleep."
Josephine said, "It's not hot right now, and you haven't been sweating. Just wipe yourself down; you'll be fine."
That's what they had been doing the past few days.
Stuart said, "It's uncomfortable, and there are some places I can't reach."
"I'll help you wipe."
Although Josephine took great care of him, Stuart had always handled his own washing up. Now, hearing Josephine say this, Stuart raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
Josephine suddenly felt a bit regretful. "Are you deliberately wanting to take a shower just to make me say this?"
"I didn't," Stuart said, feeling wronged. "Then I won't wipe."
Josephine could understand; it was indeed uncomfortable not to shower for a few days. She sighed helplessly. "Alright, I'll help you wipe."
She turned to get some water, muttering, "I've seen your body anyway."
Stuart heard this and smiled happily.
As it turned out, the process of wiping his body was torturous for Stuart, no, for both of them.
Stuart's body was too good, and Josephine couldn't help but think of the dream she had before.
It was strange that she had dreamed of making love with Stuart back then, but now that something was really happening, she felt repelled.
For Stuart, the sensation of her hands moving over his body was torture rather than pleasure.
Especially for Stuart, who had been abstinent for many years, it was really driving him crazy.
Fortunately, Josephine stopped this dangerous action in time. Because Stuart was too enthusiastic, so much so that Josephine couldn't ignore the changes in his body.
Josephine threw the towel at him. "Do it yourself!"
Stuart felt extremely wronged. He didn't want to either, but he couldn't control himself.
On the day the stitches were removed, Josephine accompanied Stuart to the hospital.
After leaving the hospital, Stuart was in a great mood and asked Josephine, "Can I exercise normally now?"
Josephine said, "Don't work out just yet. Give it a few more days."
"Okay," Stuart asked, "Can I at least take a shower?"
Josephine glanced at him and replied, "Yes."
That evening, Stuart finally took a long, satisfying shower. When he came out of the bathroom, he found that Josephine had also taken a shower in another room. Her hair was half-dried and draped over her back, looking very beautiful. She was just putting down the hairdryer, and her long hair swayed slightly.
Stuart then noticed that Josephine was wearing a black silk slip dress. These past few days, she had been wearing conservative loungewear. But today... Stuart's Adam's apple bobbed up and down.
Josephine stood up and looked back at him, making her graceful figure appear even more clearly in front of Stuart. Her delicate skin glowed faintly under the light.
Stuart felt his mouth go dry, but he didn't dare to ask Josephine what she meant by this. After all, Josephine had been resistant the last time.
"Josephine," he calle out.
Josephine lowered her eyes and said softly, "Um, let's rest."
