Chapter 465 Don't Mention How Pitiful It Was
Rex also stood up. "I heard that when you got your marriage certificate, I knew I had no chance. But I still wanted to try."
"Mr. Armstrong," Josephine interrupted him, "Thank you for your affection, but we shouldn't meet again."
Rex said, "Okay, I won't say those things. Josephine, at least we can still be friends."
"Sorry, my husband is very jealous, so being friends is out of the question."
"No matter how petty he is, he can't interfere with you making friends, right?" Rex frowned, "Then you have no freedom at all. Is this the life you want?"
Josephine said, "When two people are together, it's more about mutual understanding and tolerance. Honestly, I don't like my husband being too close with many other women either. Mr. Armstrong, I know very well what kind of life I want."
Before Josephine could finish her sentence, the door of the private room was knocked. The next second, the door was pushed open, and a waiter stood there. "Excuse me, someone is looking for you."
Then, Stuart appeared. He went straight to Josephine. "Twenty minutes are up."
Rex laughed angrily. "Stuart, do you not trust your wife at all? Are you afraid we might do something?"
Stuart looked at him coldly. "It's not that I don't trust my wife, I don't trust you. After all, there's a strength difference between men and women. If you bully my wife, she can't fight back."
Rex gritted his teeth. "Am I that kind of person?"
"Fortunately, you're not." Stuart walked over and put his arm around Josephine's waist. "Otherwise, I would have beaten you up by now."
He then looked at Josephine, "Honey, shall we go?"
Josephine didn't expect Stuart to come looking for her, so she nodded. "Okay."
She turned to Rex, "Goodbye, Mr. Armstrong."
Rex understood the meaning of "goodbye forever."
Stuart put his arm around her and left, giving Rex a very sharp look before leaving.
Rex understood. He was saying, "Stay away from my woman."
Rex had never experienced a deep, unforgettable love in his life. For the first few decades, his heart was only focused on work. When he finally met someone who moved his heart, Josephine already had someone she liked.
He had appeared too late. If heaven could give him another chance, he would definitely appear in front of Josephine earlier. At that time, he didn't think he would lose to Stuart.
He didn't know how long it had been, but Rex sat down and started eating with a blank expression.
He wasn't a young man who would die without love. He still had family, a daughter, work, and hundreds or thousands of employees to support.
After eating, he had to rush to the airport and fly abroad overnight. He came here just to make a final decision with Josephine. He also knew that Josephine couldn't choose him at this time.
He knew that coming back was futile, but he still did. This was probably the most unprofitable thing he had ever done. As a businessman, he always put profit first. Only his daughter had been an exception. Now, there was another exception: Josephine.
But in the future, he probably wouldn't have the chance to do such unprofitable things again.
On the plane back, high in the sky, Rex wiped his face and when he opened his eyes again, he was still the cold and arrogant man.
Stuart took Josephine out and got in the car. Stuart explained first, "Josephine, don't listen to his nonsense. It's not that I don't trust you, I don't trust him!"
Josephine smiled. "I know, I didn't blame you. Besides, we agreed on twenty minutes, and I didn't come out, so you must be worried."
Stuart hugged her. "Josephine, you're so good."
Josephine patted his back. "Alright, Jeffery isn't acting cute, and you're still acting spoiled."
"Why can't I act spoiled with my wife?" Stuart didn't feel ashamed at all. "Honey, you should act spoiled with me too."
He was getting more and more used to calling her "honey."
Josephine said, "I told you not to call me that all the time. If you call me that in front of my mom, it would be so embarrassing."
Stuart thought for a moment and said, "Okay, then I'll only call you that in bed. Or, only when it's just the two of us. Don't worry, I won't call you that when others are around."
"You!" Josephine glared at him. "Just drive!"
Rex's matter was like an interlude, and it soon passed. However, in the end, it was Steven who was unlucky.
Laura somehow found out about Rex meeting Josephine after returning to the country, and later found out that it was Steven who arranged it. She was furious.
"Are you afraid that Josephine's life is too good?" Laura said, "They just got their marriage certificate, and Rex comes to cause trouble? You even called Josephine? Considering my relationship with her, she couldn't refuse you! How do you expect me to face Josephine in the future!"
Steven was puzzled, "How did you find out?"
Laura glared at him. "If you don't want people to know, don't do it!"
She added, "It definitely wasn't Josephine who told me! She wouldn't tell me, knowing that if she did, I would come after you!"
Steven was very regretful. "I didn't mean anything by it, I just thought Rex was too pitiful."
"Pitiful? He's worth billions of dollars, what's pitiful about him? Is he pitiful because he covets a married woman?"
Steven quickly said, "I was wrong, I was wrong, Laura, I won't do it again."
Laura said, "I think you're too opinionated now. Do you think you can do whatever you want just because we got our marriage certificate? Let me tell you, turning a marriage certificate into a divorce decree is very simple!"
"Honey, honey, I was wrong." Steven immediately hugged her. "I won't do such things again, really, I'll... I'll block Rex's number right now!"
"What's the use of verbal promises!"
"Then watch my actions in the future," Steven said pitifully. "I won't take any pocket money this month, is that okay?"
"You won't get any pocket money next month either!"
When Jair had time, a few of them came to Celestia Springs. By the time they could get together, several days had passed since they got their marriage certificate.
They gathered to discuss the wedding in October.
Among these people, Steven had the biggest smoking habit. Previously, Laura didn't force him to quit, so he would occasionally smoke a few cigarettes when socializing.
Now, he didn't dare to smoke even one, fearing it would make Laura angry.
And without pocket money, he didn't dare to buy anything.
A few days ago, a friend with whom he had a mediocre relationship got engaged. He sent a gift through someone else, and it was bought with money borrowed from Jair!
It was really pitiful.
