Chapter 582 Breaking Up in a Relationship is Normal

Ulysses didn't care what she thought.

He just thought this woman was probably crazy.

Out of nowhere, she asked him to borrow money.

Why should he lend it to her?

How could she have the nerve to ask?

Ulysses ignored her and went about his business.

Then he waited patiently for Isadora to come back.

The next day at noon, Ulysses went to the Penrose Mansion.

Sure enough, around five in the afternoon, he saw that car.

Then, Zander, Delphine, and Isadora got out of the car.

Ulysses quickly walked over and waved his hand, "Isadora!"

The family of three turned around.

Isadora looked at Ulysses with a surprised expression.

Zander asked curiously, "Who are you?"

"Hello," Ulysses said, "I'm Isadora's classmate, I live over there."

Zander smiled, "Oh, a classmate. Izzy, aren't you going to say hello?"

Delphine also said, "You two chat, your dad and I will go inside first."

The two of them glanced at Ulysses again before going inside.

Isadora was left behind.

Inside, Zander and Delphine closed the door and peeked out the window.

Zander said, "This kid looks good, seems honest and upright."

Delphine said, "He's good-looking and has a nice demeanor."

"Saying they're classmates, trying to fool us. Who hasn't been young? It's obvious there's something between them."

Delphine laughed, "At Izzy's age, it's normal to be in love."

"I know, I'm just worried she'll be deceived." Zander said, "I only have one daughter, of course, I have to look out for her. Even though that boy seems nice, you can never truly know someone's inner thoughts just by their appearance and behavior."

Delphine was also concerned about Isadora's future.

And she had talked with Isadora and knew her thoughts.

Initially, the family didn't agree with her wanting a son-in-law to marry into the family.

After all, there were many cases where poor men treated their wives badly after gaining power.

She still thought it would be good for Isadora to find someone of equal status or someone she truly loved.

But Isadora was a very determined girl.

After discussing it several times, Isadora's parents finally accepted the idea.

Now seeing Ulysses, they couldn't help but want to know more about him.

Isadora slowly walked towards Ulysses, looking at him through an iron gate.

Ulysses looked at her.

They hadn't seen each other for about a week.

Isadora had lost weight and looked very haggard.

Ulysses felt heartbroken and couldn't help but want to reach out to her.

Isadora took a step back. "If you have something to say, just say it."

"Isadora," Ulysses began, "we need to communicate about our issues, right? You can't avoid me forever, can you?"

Isadora said, "What issues? Haven't you already decided that I have no feelings for you?"

Ulysses had spoken out of anger and frustration at the time.

He actually knew that Isadora did have feelings for him.

But Isadora had approached him with other intentions, possibly with a purpose from the start.

This was something Ulysses couldn't accept.

In other words, he felt that if he didn't meet the criteria, would it mean that Isadora could be with anyone?

Ulysses said, "No, I know you have feelings for me. Isadora, can we not think about those things? Can we stop fighting and go back to how we were?"

Isadora shook her head.

Ulysses angrily said, "Why? Can you just throw away our feelings like that?"

Isadora said, "The thing about marrying into my family was true."

Ulysses was stunned.

Isadora looked at him, "I really want to find a boyfriend who can marry into my family and help manage my family business in the future. I thought you were suitable, but if your family is wealthy, you definitely wouldn't agree with that. We're not suitable."

Ulysses got even angrier, "Why are you so fixated on this marrying into your family thing?"

"Because I'm the only daughter in my family," Isadora said, "In the future, my husband will need to help manage my family business, and our children will take the Penrose name. This way, my parents can be at ease."

"But..." Ulysses had nothing to say, he didn't know what to say.

Isadora looked at him, "I'm sorry, in the end, it's all because of me. Let's end this. Forget everything that happened before."

"I'm a person, not a machine that can be formatted and erase everything as if nothing happened," Ulysses said, "You're only thinking about marrying into your family, don't you think about our feelings?"

Isadora said, "They say time is the best healer for feelings. I  might feel bad, but as time goes by, I think I'll let go."

Ulysses wanted to say something more.

But Isadora looked at him, "Or do you want to marry into my family? Can you do that?"

Ulysses was stunned.

He hadn't thought about this.

Or rather, he had thought about it, but it seemed too far-fetched, and he subconsciously felt that Isadora wouldn't ask this of him.

But who knew, Isadora asked.

Ulysses didn't say anything.

Isadora said, "You accuse me of approaching you with ulterior motives, without feelings. But what about you? How much do you love me? What are you willing to do for me?"

Ulysses looked at her, his eyes filled with pain.

Isadora was also hurting, "So, let's not torture each other anymore."

With that, she turned and went inside.

Zander and Delphine had sensed something was wrong from the beginning.

The two kids didn't have smiles on their faces, it looked like they were arguing.

But from a distance, they couldn't hear anything.

Now seeing Isadora come inside, they quickly pretended they had just walked over.

Delphine said, "Izzy, your classmate left... Hey, why are you crying? What happened?"

Zander quickly said, "Did that jerk bully you? I'll go deal with him!"

Isadora sobbed, "It's not his fault, I just got something in my eye from the wind."

Who would believe that?

But Isadora saying this clearly meant she didn't want them to know what happened.

Looking outside again, Ulysses was already gone.

Isadora went upstairs, holding her phone, feeling extremely sad.

She scrolled through her previous chat history with Ulysses, crying as she read.

Delphine knocked and came in, bringing her some fruit.

She sat on the bed, stroking Isadora's hair, "Izzy, I might not be able to help with what's bothering you, but you can still talk to me. I'm over twenty years older than you, I might have some advice."

Isadora shook her head, "It's nothing, Mom. Just a breakup."

Delphine said, "Breakups are common, maybe you two just weren't right for each other."

Isadora wanted to cry again, "No, it's my fault."
