Chapter 459 Will Nicole Agree?
Jeffery took one look at Stuart's pathetic expression and then heard Josephine's words. There was nothing he didn't understand.
He said, "Mom, do I even have a choice?"
Josephine was taken aback, then laughed, "Of course, Jeffery. You can choose to go to Grandma's or to Dad's."
Jeffery sighed, "Forget it. If I say I'm going to Grandma's tonight, Dad will be furious."
Stuart ruffled his hair, "Thanks, Jeffery!"
He was genuinely surprised and immediately looked at Josephine, "Can we go tonight? Have you talked to Nicole?"
Josephine nodded, "Yes, it's all set. Let's go!"
Andrew was also very happy about their arrival. The family sat together for dinner, enjoying each other's company.
After dinner, Andrew took Jeffery away. The grandfather and grandson were being secretive, and no one knew what they were talking about.
Stuart held Josephine's hand as they went upstairs and asked her, "Why are you being so nice all of a sudden? Did Nicole have any objections when you said you were coming over?"
"My mom? What objections could she have?" Josephine laughed, "I'm about to marry you."
Stuart said, "But you're still part of The Clarence Family and will take Jeffery back home."
They entered the room, and Stuart looked at her, suddenly feeling emotional, "Thank goodness Jeffery is a boy."
Josephine glanced at him, "Why do you say that?"
Stuart hugged her and said, "If we had a daughter, I might think about her getting married and going to someone else's home in the future. Just thinking about it makes me feel bad."
Josephine laughed and pushed him away, "Well, you don't have to worry about that now."
"Yes," Stuart said, "I put myself in Nicole's shoes, so now I completely understand her feelings. I'll definitely take good care of her in the future!"
Josephine couldn't stop laughing and suddenly thought of a question, "So, do you think we should have another child?"
Stuart was taken aback.
Josephine thought seriously and said, "I hadn't considered this before. But I think one child might be a bit lonely, and my mom and grandpa would definitely want us to have another one."
Stuart pulled her to sit on the bed, "Josephine, I hope you can consider this question without thinking about anyone else. Just ask yourself if you want it. I don't want you to feel wronged for anyone."
Thinking about how Josephine had gone through pregnancy and childbirth alone and had taken care of Jeffery so diligently, Stuart felt heartbroken.
He naturally hoped that Josephine would have another child, and Andrew had mentioned it as well, but Stuart felt that this was not something he needed to consider other people's opinions on.
He just wanted to know if Josephine wanted to have another child.
Andrew and Nicole naturally hoped for more family members. But Stuart didn't think that way.
Even if they didn't have Jeffery, if Josephine said she didn't want children, he wouldn't force her. What others thought didn't matter; what mattered was what Josephine wanted.
He said, "Josephine, having a child isn't as simple as just saying it. From preparing for pregnancy to giving birth, you'll go through a lot. Once the child is born, we are responsible for their entire life."
Josephine asked him, "Do you want to have another child?"
"Whether I want to or not, you don't need to consider my feelings," Stuart emphasized again, "The key is your own thoughts. Josephine, I don't want you to feel wronged for anyone."
"But I suddenly want a daughter. Cute and adorable."
Not just Josephine, even Stuart was tempted by her words.
"We both look pretty good, so she would definitely be beautiful," Josephine continued, "We could give her cute little pigtails and dress her in pretty little dresses."
"Stop it," Stuart couldn't help but hug her, "You're making me look forward to it."
"Then let's have another one?"
"But..." Stuart was still worried, "What if it's another boy?"
"Then there's nothing we can do," Josephine said, "Maybe we're just not meant to have a daughter."
"Josephine, if you want to have another child, then we will," Stuart said, "Whether it's a boy or a girl, this time, I'll definitely be with you."
Seeing his eyes turn red, Josephine knew he was thinking about the past again. She pulled his hand down, held it, and smiled at him, "I've told you before, I didn't have a hard time. Jeffery was so well-behaved in my belly. I had a good appetite and everything tasted good. Except for some swelling in the later stages of pregnancy, I really didn't suffer."
"Jeffery is very sensible," Stuart said, "I owe you both, and I can never repay it in this lifetime."
"Why are you still saying that?" Josephine squeezed his hand, "I told you, let's not talk about the past. If you keep saying it, I'll get mad."
"Okay, I won't say it," Stuart hugged her again, "Honey, thank you."
Josephine thought for a moment and said, "Don't call me that all the time. If you get used to it and accidentally say it in front of the elders, it'll be so awkward."
Stuart said, "What's so awkward about it? You are... Wait, honey, shouldn't we get our marriage license before the wedding?"
Josephine laughed, "Sure."
Stuart's heart skipped a beat, "You agree?"
Josephine found it amusing, "I've already agreed to marry you. Why wouldn't I get the marriage license?"
"Then we..." Thinking about the time, Stuart changed his words, "We'll go first thing tomorrow morning!"
Josephine nodded.
Stuart excitedly got up, "I'll get my documents. Do you have yours with you?"
"Who carries that around?" Josephine laughed and cried, "But it's in my suitcase. I'll get it tomorrow after we drop off Jeffery. It's not far."
"Okay, okay." Stuart quickly found his documents. He sat back down next to Josephine and said, "Then let's keep our documents together from now on."
"Is that necessary?"
"Yes," Stuart said, "That way, our documents will always be in the same place."
Josephine laughed, "Alright, whatever you say."
"What should I do, Josephine? You're so good to me." He acted like a big dog, rubbing against Josephine. "Will Nicole disagree with us getting the marriage license?"
Josephine said, "Don't worry. I'll tell her in advance."
With that, she took out her phone and started typing.
Stuart watched nervously from the side.
