Chapter 46 What Should Happen
Stuart came to his senses and nodded.
Doris timidly said, "Stuart, do I cause you trouble? I'm so clumsy; that's why I get burned."
Stuart patted her shoulder. "It's okay. You don't have to do those tasks anymore. I'll find you a maid."
Doris was happy but suppressed her joy. She blinked and said, "No need."
"Your hand is injured and needs care."
Doris looked at him with gratitude and admiration. "Stuart, will you stay with me tonight?"
Stuart instinctively wanted to refuse.
Tears welled up in Doris's eyes. "My hand hurts a lot. I'm afraid to be alone."
Stuart said softly, "Don't cry. I'll stay with you."
Late at night, Josephine stared at the ceiling, unable to sleep.
Stuart told her to wait. Although she had rejected him, she couldn't help but anticipate, listening carefully for any sound outside.
As the night deepened, Josephine couldn't resist closing her eyes and fell asleep.
The next day, she went to work as usual. During that time, Stuart didn't send any messages.
She didn't know that after Robin had brought her back the previous night, he had called Stuart.
Stuart didn't answer. Later, he called Robin back. "Is there anything wrong? I'm at a video conference, and it's halftime now. If there isn’t anything wrong, I'll hang up."
"Why are you having a video conference at this time? Aren't your employees off work?" Robin asked.
Stuart explained, "It's for an overseas project."
Robin asked, "Do you know William?"
Stuart was looking at the data. He froze at Robin's words, gripping the mouse, and asked, "Who do you say?"
Robin said, "William. I hear Josephine say that William went back to the country and even sent flowers to her!"
Stuart couldn't help but tighten his grip, and the mouse made a clicking sound.
He came back to his senses and said in a cold voice, "I see."
Robin felt strange. "Do you know him? Why haven't I heard of him?"
"You meet him abroad." Stuart didn't want to say more. "I'll hang up first. Goodbye."
He hung up the phone and looked at the files on the computer again. He couldn't focus on the data after that.
Doris walked over with a cup of coffee. She said softly, "Stuart, are you going to work all night? You'll get tired."
"There's a time difference between the abroad and Hustalia," Stuart explained. "There's a lot to be done. You go rest first."
Doris was anxious but didn't want to show it. Otherwise, she would leave a bad impression on Stuart.
Stuart had stayed overnight at her place more than once, but he had always worked through the night. He had never made any intimate moves towards her, let alone slept with her.
If Stuart were cold and didn't like too much contact with women, Doris wouldn't feel sad.
After all, they hadn't defined their relationship yet.
Although Stuart never refused her requests, he had never said she was his girlfriend.
Doris also knew that Stuart liked her because she was innocent and lovely, and she couldn't ruin the image he had of her in his heart.
However, Doris had seen the hickies on Josephine's body more than once, which showed that Stuart was passionate about Josephine.
So, Stuart had such needs.
But he wasn't interested in Doris.
Doris had a lot on her mind, but she remained calm. She just said softly, "If you're done, take a nap. I don't want you to get sick."
Stuart stared at the computer and nodded.
His mind was now full of thoughts about William sending flowers to Josephine.
Tonight, he planned to go home and talk to Josephine. But Doris got burned, and he couldn't go back.
After hearing the news that William sent flowers to Josephine, Stuart had a cold face during the following video conference. His subordinates, thousands of miles away, also felt the chill.
In the morning, the maid came, and he instructed her a few things and told Doris to rest well at home. Then, he left.
Doris held onto Stuart's arm, not wanting him to leave. "Will you come to accompany me tonight?"
Stuart patted her hand. "I might still have work to do."
Seeing the disappointment in Doris's eyes, Stuart's heart ached. "If you're done, take a nap. I don't want you to get sick."
Tears welled up in his eyes. "I'll come to have dinner with you." "Okay, take a break when you have time."
After Stuart left, the maid said enviously, "Ms. Kelly, your boyfriend is so good to you."
Doris blushed and smiled shyly, "He has always been good to me."
Back in her room, Doris called Robin. "Mr. Bailey, how is my brother's situation?"
Robin replied, "Don't worry. This matter won't be resolved so easily."
Doris added, "Stuart asked about it last night, and he's also worried." Robin sneered, "I think he should find Josephine."
Doris asked, "Do you also ask Josephine for help?"
"The director agreed to your brother's matter. Obviously, Liam did something. Only Josephine can change Liam's mind." Doris pondered.
Robin continued, "And Ray is your brother. If Stuart goes to Josephine, do you think she will agree?"
Doris didn't want to ruin her image. "Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"
Robin smiled, "It's okay. Let's work together. Your brother will definitely get the job. And Stuart and Josephine will definitely get divorced; it's just a matter of time."
Doris couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Bailey, you said the same thing before, but I don't think Stuart wants a divorce. Why are you so sure?" Robin mysteriously said, "Maybe it's a kind of intuition."
Doris didn't believe in intuition.
She also had a hunch that Robin's attitude towards Josephine was not quite right.
And Robin must know something, so he said that Stuart and Josephine would definitely get divorced.
Robin seemed friendly, but he was actually cunning. Doris always felt that he was hypocritical.
He smiled at everyone, but he could bite at any time.
However, when he saw Josephine, he talked to her in a strange way, which made Doris feel strange.
But Doris wouldn't miss the opportunity to make Josephine uncomfortable, and she planned to talk to Stuart during dinner.
Soon, it was afternoon. After receiving a message from Josephine, William was coming to pick her up.
Josephine refused and said she would go with Claudia.
Claudia arrived to pick her up. After getting in the car, Claudia asked angrily, "Did Stuart not come home last night?"
Josephine felt strange. "How do you know?"
Claudia said, "Doris updates her Instagram. How can she be so proud to be someone's mistress? Shameless."
Josephine remained expressionless. "You can block her."
Claudia looked at her and said, "Are you just going to let them be like this? Since you can't get a divorce, you can take revenge on Stuart."
Josephine smiled helplessly. "Focus on driving."
Claudia tapped the steering wheel. "You will have an opportunity tonight. You have to win over William."
