Chapter 79 "Be Good, and I'll Give You Everything."
Then let it be unreasonable, Josephine didn't care.
Moreover, with Stuart's condescending tone, was she supposed to be grateful and kneel to thank him?
Josephine hung up.
Stuart felt like smashing his phone again.
He thought about it seriously; it seemed that ever since Doris appeared, Josephine had changed.
In the past, they could coexist peacefully.
Now, not to mention peace, arguing whenever they met had become the norm.
Stuart felt helpless.
He didn't want to argue with Josephine.
Moreover, he was obsessed with the feeling of being in bed with Josephine.
However, Josephine was now always uncooperative.
This couldn't go on.
Maybe he should consider keeping an appropriate distance from Doris.
However, thinking about Doris's face, he couldn't bear to do it.
Doris came back with some things she bought from shopping and stayed with him in the office working overtime.
They said men were most charming when they were working.
Especially someone as handsome as Stuart.
Doris looked at him obsessively, fantasizing about the day she could truly belong to Stuart.
To outsiders, they seemed very close, but only Doris knew that Stuart had never crossed any boundaries.
The last time she tried to drug him was unsuccessful, so Doris dared not act rashly again.
The mysterious person hadn't called her recently either.
When Doris called, it said the number was disconnected.
Robin often gave her advice, which was nothing more than sticking close to Stuart and appearing in front of him more often.
It didn't provide any substantial help.
Seeing Stuart pinch the bridge of his nose, Doris quickly walked over, sat beside him, and wrapped her arm around his, brushing her chest against him.
Stuart leaned back on the sofa.
Whether intentionally or unintentionally, he avoided Doris.
Doris had to maintain her image of pure and cute in front of him, so she couldn't just throw herself at him.
She said, "Stuart, you're tired. Let me give you a massage?"
Stuart shook his head in refusal. He said, "You don't need to do that. Are you happy with what you bought today?"
Doris was living a life of wealth now.
Ever since being with Stuart, he had never treated her poorly financially.
The clothes, bags, and jewelry she never dared to dream of before; she could now buy whenever she wanted.
She gained a lot of face in front of her relatives and friends.
"I'm happy with them." Doris lowered her eyes. She remarked, "But I don't want those things. I'm afraid you'll overthink if I don't buy them. Stuart, I just hope you can spend more time with me."
Stuart didn't say anything.
Doris continued, "You're so tired every day, why do you still go to the military base to suffer? This time, when you come back, can you not go there again?"
She spoke softly, and if you listened closely, her tone carried a hint of pleading and grievance.
She knew men were most susceptible to this kind of approach from women.
She had seen Josephine a few times; although Josephine had a better figure and appearance, her cold demeanor neither served nor pleased anyone, which no man would like.
Thinking this made Doris even more confident.
Stuart spoke at this moment, "I have plans."
Doris's eyes immediately reddened. She said sadly, "Suffering at the military base with no one to take care of you, I'm really worried."
Stuart looked at her.
Her eyes were filled with tears, and she looked so aggrieved.
Stuart sighed. He reassured her, "Don't worry about me. I'm in good health. When I come back from the military base, the company will almost be on holiday. I'll take you out for a couple of days then."
Doris's eyes widened instantly. She said excitedly, "Really?"
If Stuart was willing to take her out, with just the two of them, there would naturally be many opportunities for intimate contact.
Maybe she could take this chance to sleep with him.
She thought that Stuart going to the military base might not necessarily be because of Josephine.
She had heard Robin mention in passing that Stuart also did business with the military base.
This time, it might be for business.
Thinking this, and with Stuart agreeing to take her out, Doris felt satisfied.
The next day, Stuart returned to the military base and found that Josephine was deliberately avoiding him.
Just a few days ago, without Stuart calling her, she would return to their shared dormitory on her own.
This time, Stuart waited for a long time, but she didn't come.
He called her, but no one answered.
As excessive as he might be, Stuart couldn't just go to the female soldiers' dormitory and drag her out.
Lying alone on the two-meter bed, he felt Josephine was heartless and insensitive.
Just because her period was about to end, she wouldn't give him any benefit and just left?
He even helped her bathe, and she just left?
The more Stuart thought about it, the angrier he became; but soon, the emergency assembly whistle blew.
Stuart quickly put on his clothes and ran downstairs.
In the evening, other soldiers led the team, and Stuart stood by the roadside, his sharp eyes scanning the people who were running.
When he saw Josephine, he directly reached out and pulled her out of the team.
In the deep night, his movements were so fast that Josephine didn't even have time to gasp what was happening before he held her.
He directly carried her back to their place.
Josephine initially wanted to struggle, but then Stuart said in her ear, "Do you want everyone to see?"
Josephine bit his chest hard.
Placing her on the bed, Stuart unbuttoned his shirt with one hand. He remarked, "Are you a dog? You love biting people so much."
Josephine glared at him. She retorted angrily, "Not as much as you love biting. Look at how many marks are on me!"
Stuart pressed down on her. He said coyly, "That's not biting you; it's cherishing you."
Josephine kicked him. She said impatiently, "Fine, then I'll bite you—no, cherish you!"
Stuart easily restrained her. He replied, "Cherishing is a husband's job. You just enjoy it."
His hand moved down, and sure enough, he didn't feel any soft sanitary pads.
Josephine's period had ended.
Just thinking about him possibly being with Doris yesterday made Josephine feel disgusted.
However, in terms of strength, she was no match for Stuart.
Besides, making too much noise and being heard by others wouldn't be good.
She said, "I didn't bring any pills."
Stuart looked at her. He said to her, "It's the safe period now; you won't get pregnant. Josephine, do you think I'm that easy to fool?"
Josephine educated him, "The concept of a safe period is the most unreliable."
Stuart said, "So I can't sleep with you then?"
"If we sleep together, I might get pregnant. Mr. Haustia, do you want me to have your child?" Josephine asked.
Stuart sneered, reaching to the side and pulling out a box. "No, I don't."
Josephine looked and saw that Stuart had prepared condoms at some point.
He tore open the package and took out a string of condoms, looking at Josephine. He said smugly, "See? I've been prepared."
He sounded quite proud.
What was there to show off about this?
Stuart bit her earlobe discontentedly. He said, "You're not focused. Josephine, are you saying I'm not fast enough?"
Josephine glared at him, but her eyes were filled with emotion, lacking any real threat.
Stuart's heart softened for a moment.
He kissed the corner of Josephine's lips, He remarked, "Be good, and I'll give you what you want."
Josephine asked, "Do you know what I want?"
"You want a secure position, a prestigious status, and to be unquestioned," Stuart said, "I can give you all that."
Prestige and status.
He could give it all.
Except, he wouldn't say love.
