Chapter 167 Did You Catch the Wrong Person?
When Josephine saw who it was, she realized she had mistaken the person.
This person looked a bit like Doris, but more like Angela.
Curious, Josephine asked, "Who are you?"
Donna walked over, eyes full of jealousy, and said, "You're nothing special!"
Josephine saw the malice in her eyes but didn't know this woman.
"Did you have someone bring me here? What's your purpose? I don't even know you; this is illegal," Josephine said.
Donna smiled.
She seemed harmless, even more so than Doris. But now, Josephine felt she was like a man-eating flower.
Even when she smiled, her face was full of malice and hypocrisy. No matter how kind she seemed, she was essentially wicked.
Two men stood on either side of Josephine, making Donna feel confident.
She approached Josephine. "No grudge? That's not true. Your very existence is a mistake."
Josephine realized she must have obstructed something important to her. But her work and family seemed fine.
The only variable was Stuart.
Thinking about everything since marrying Stuart, Josephine recalled a saying, 'A man should shield a woman from the storm.'
But all her storms came from Stuart, which was absurd.
"Is this about Stuart?" Josephine asked.
She thought it was because Donna was jealous of her. Besides Stuart, Josephine couldn't think of anyone else who would have animosity towards her.
Donna scoffed. "Stuart? Only you treasure Stuart. To me, he's worthless."
Josephine was surprised. Even with personal grudges, she had to admit Stuart was excellent.
Someone actually said he was worthless?
If she had no feelings for Stuart, then Donna must be in love with someone else. Who could it be?
Josephine stayed silent.
Donna continued, "If he had the guts to marry his first love, I'd respect him. But getting married and still thinking about other women, only you could tolerate such a man."
Josephine said, "Indeed, I was blind before."
Donna added, "A real man should be loyal and unwavering."
Josephine nodded. "That's right."
Donna said, "So, do you know where you went wrong?"
Josephine thought for a moment and said, "I was too awesome? So other guys were into me, and you got jealous and brought me here without me knowing."
"Bullshit!" Donna snapped. "Who do you think you are? Do you really think you're all that?"
"I don't think," Josephine replied. "I know I haven't been trying to attract other men. The only one I'm close to is Liam. So, do you have a crush on Liam?"
Since childhood, many girls had issues with her because of her close relationship with Liam.
Even though they weren't a couple, Liam was more considerate and caring than a boyfriend.
Those who liked Liam naturally couldn't stand it.
But she knew most of those people.
This one in front of her, she had never heard of.
Donna looked confused. "Liam? Who's that? I don't know him!"
Hearing her denial, Josephine was even more puzzled. "Then why did you bring me here? Did you get the wrong person?"
"Besides your face, you're as dumb as a rock!" Donna said through gritted teeth. "Married to Stuart for three years, you couldn't make him love you, caused so much trouble, and ended up divorced in disgrace. With such skills, how could he love you?"
Josephine said, "Disgrace? Sure, I endured some stuff, but I think I divorced quite gracefully."
After all, she had slapped Stuart in front of so many shareholders. That wasn't disgraceful, right?
Donna looked at her with inherent disgust. "Someone treated you well, cared for you for years, and you didn't even notice? You made him feel disappointed and depressed."
"Based on what you said, the only person I can think of is Liam," Josephine said. "No one else has cared for me like that."
Surely, there were men who tried to win her favor, but Josephine never gave them a chance.
The only person who was good to her was Liam.
Donna replied, "I told you, I don't know any Liam!"
"Then who are you talking about?" Josephine asked curiosity, "Is he the reason you hate me so much?"
"You really don't know he loves you? Fine, I'll give you a chance to guess."
Josephine shook her head. "No need. I have no idea."
"I feel sorry for him! What do you have that makes you worthy of his affection?" Donna's eyes were filled with jealousy. "You don't deserve him!"
Josephine asked, "Are you jealous of me because he liked me? Have you ever thought that I don't even know who he is? I'm innocent."
"Innocent? You must be constantly flirting, otherwise, a man of his character would never fall for you!"
Hearing this, Josephine almost believed there was a perfect man who loved her.
But the irony was, there wasn't.
"He has done so much for you, yet you never showed him any kindness, even humiliating him. How could you be so heartless?"
"Wait," Josephine interrupted. "First of all, I don't even know who this person is. At least in my memory, there's no such person. Why don't you just say the name, otherwise, I'm really afraid you got the wrong person."
"Fine, today I'll let you die knowing!" Donna's eyes softened. "He is the most perfect man in the world, incredibly handsome, brave, tall, and exceptionally capable."
Josephine was speechless. "Just say the name."
"It's my Robin," Donna said, her face showing a bit of shyness.
Josephine was stunned. "Who?"
"Robin, Robin!" Donna looked at her, getting impatient again. "Do you have a hearing problem? Such a beautiful name, you should remember it immediately!"
Josephine looked at her in disbelief. "Are you sure you're talking about Robin? Or is there someone with the same name? The man you just described has nothing to do with Robin."
