Chapter 513 All Men Have a Dark Side
Josephine said, "Just so, so."
Stuart was dissatisfied. "Out of 100 points, how many would you give me?"
Josephine thought for a moment and said, "Eighty points."
Stuart was about to say something when Josephine added, "The twenty points deducted are for your performance in bed."
"What about my performance in bed?" Stuart was even more aggrieved. "Since you got pregnant, I haven't even dared to kiss you."
"Why don't you talk about how excessive you were before?"
Stuart quickly hugged her. "It wasn't excessive. It was just normal married life."
Josephine didn't want to argue with him about this. After all, she was pregnant now, and Stuart couldn't do anything.
She said, "Anyway, if Gerald and they have another child, it would be nice."
At this point, Stuart asked her, "Laura and Claudia are both having their first child, so it doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl. But you want a girl. What if it's not?"
Josephine said, "If it's not, there's nothing we can do. Giving Jeffery a little brother would be nice too."
Hearing this, Stuart felt relieved.
He was mainly afraid that Josephine would be disappointed.
He said, "How about this, if we have a boy, no matter which of them has a girl, we'll make her our goddaughter."
"Yes, we had that plan anyway," Josephine said. "We can't all have boys, right?"
The two of them smiled at each other.
Josephine's phone rang again.
"Gerald also invited Kathy for breakfast tomorrow. Gerald is something." She said to Stuart.
"Actually, I think that no matter what kind of man, in front of the woman he likes, he will want to do his best. So the things you're worried about won't happen."
"So you mean Gerald likes Kathy?"
"From my perspective as an observer, Gerald is a very calm and steady person. He is also someone who sticks to his principles and won't waver for anyone. Mom always wanted him to get married, but he missed the best age for it."
Indeed, when Ulysses' mother passed away, Gerald was in his prime.
At that time, he could have had his pick of any girl.
There was no need to wait until now to relent.
"So, if he doesn't have feelings for Kathy, not even God could make it happen. The reason he wants to try with Kathy is definitely because he has feelings for her."
"That's great," Josephine said. "You men really understand each other."
"Actually, men all have a dark side."
"What is your dark side?" Josephine was curious.
Stuart raised an eyebrow at her. "Do you really want to know?"
Josephine asked, "Yes, what are they?"
Stuart leaned close to her and whispered in her ear, "Of course, it's bullying you in bed."
Josephine glared at him.
Stuart quickly changed the subject. "So, you don't need to worry about Gerald and Kathy. There's no man in the world who doesn't know how to date, unless he doesn't like the other person."
"Okay, I understand."
The two of them lay down, and Stuart held her in his arms, asking her, "So, what do you think my dark side is? I was just joking earlier."
"It's okay," Josephine said. "When it comes to that, it's not just men; women have them too. Even the sunniest person has shadows in their heart."
"Then..."
Seeing him hesitate, Josephine asked, "What do you really want to say?"
"Josephine, have you really let go of all the mistakes I made in the past?"
"You're asking me this now?"
"No, I'm not doubting you. I just feel that I was really excessive back then."
Josephine said, "It's not me who hasn't let go; it's you. Actually, thinking back, it wasn't entirely your fault. I liked you, and you didn't know. You always thought that the person who saved you was Angela. So, it was just fate playing tricks on us. But now that all the misunderstandings are cleared up, why dwell on it?"
"Sometimes I can't help but think about it," Stuart said, kissing her forehead. "I won't think about it anymore."
"When our second child is born, don't tell them about this."
"Why would I tell the child about this? I wish Jeffery could forget it all, but that's not realistic. Anyway, I won't say anything. I'll just teach him to love you."
Josephine said, "Good, I think you're good at educating children. Jeffery is a great example."
"I'm also trying to learn to be a good dad."
"My only concern now is Gerald and Kathy," Josephine said. "I hope their relationship goes smoothly."
Actually, Gerald thought the same.
At his age, if he didn't find someone, it wouldn't matter. But if he confirmed a relationship, it would definitely be with marriage in mind.
He had the conditions, so he wouldn't care about the woman's family or status.
The Clarence family didn't have such prejudices either.
So what he needed to do was see if he and Kathy got along, if they had common topics, and if they could spend a lifetime together.
Now, although they had only met a few times in the hospital and had one date outside, Gerald felt pretty good about it.
The next morning, after his morning run and a shower, he drove to pick up Kathy.
Nicole watched him leave from the window, her curiosity obvious.
She called Josephine. "Gerald came back in Kathy's car last night!"
Josephine laughed, "Mom, why are you so excited?"
"How can I not be? I thought Gerald didn't plan to get married, but now it seems there's hope!"
"Yes, but Mom, we shouldn't interfere in Gerald and Kathy's relationship. Let them develop on their own."
"Don't worry, I won't interfere!"
Josephine chatted with her for a bit, and then Nicole started giving Josephine advice.
Josephine said, "Mom, I'm being taken care of by so many people. Aren't you reassured?"
"Yes, but when Ulysses' mom was pregnant with Ulysses, your dad and I weren't here, so we didn't take care of her. I feel quite guilty about that. I thought, now I can take care of you more, and if Kathy gets pregnant in the future, I'll have experience."
Josephine laughed, "Mom, you don't need to take care of me. There are so many people at home."
"That won't do. No matter how many people there are, I'm Gerald's mother, and I have to fulfill my responsibility."
"Let's not talk about this. For now, let's just hope Gerald works hard and gets together with Kathy soon."
As for Gerald, he had no idea that his family was already fantasizing about his marriage and children.
He drove to Kathy's place and called her. In just five or six minutes, Kathy came downstairs.
