Chapter 523 I Invite My Boyfriend
Gerald looked at the work schedule and realized he could make time for a date with Kathy tomorrow night.
She really had a lot of patience.
She never asked if he had time when he didn't initiate.
She probably knew he was busy.
Gerald got home, and it was already past ten.

When he got home, Nicole was already asleep.
He went to his room, took a shower, and then sent a message to Kathy.
He sent it, but there was no reply.
This was rare; most of the time, Kathy replied quickly.
She must be busy.
Gerald put down his phone and started looking at a proposal.
After about ten minutes, his phone rang.
He picked it up and saw it was a message from Kathy, saying she had just been in the shower.
Gerald guessed she was in the shower.
Gerald felt like a pervert now.
He used to be cold-hearted, detached, and without desires.
But now, hearing Kathy say she was showering made his mind wander.

But thinking about the emojis Kathy sent him, Gerald thought maybe he could ask Kathy for a real kiss.
Just sending emojis to tease him was too mean.
Gerald called her.
Kathy answered quickly.
"Finished showering?" He asked.
Kathy said, "Yes. Why aren't you asleep yet?"
These days, although they didn't see each other often, they had hugged last time, and Gerald often called her.
Kathy's tone in her messages had become much more casual.
As they spent more time together, Kathy became more comfortable.
Gerald liked this change in her.
A girlfriend wasn't a subordinate who needed to be treated seriously.
Gerald said, "I was waiting for your message. How could I sleep without your reply?"
Kathy said, "I don't believe that."
"Don't believe it?" Gerald laughed. "You've become quite bold, not believing what I say?"
Kathy also laughed, "Who knew you could say such teasing things?"
"What, I can't even tease?" Gerald said, "I didn't have a girlfriend before, but now that I do, some things..."
He thought for a moment and said, "Kathy, do you think I'm a very upright, traditional man?"
Kathy responded, "Aren't you?"
Gerald said, "Or do you like me because of that?"
Kathy liked him partly because he was upright, incorruptible, and honest.
But liking someone was made up of many parts.
She couldn't just like one aspect.

"Then," Gerald couldn't help but worry, "if you find out I'm different from what you imagined, even very different, would you feel disappointed? Or regret it?"

He was afraid that saying it might scare Kathy.

Kathy immediately said, "Great! See you tomorrow then!"
Gerald said, "Alright, Kathy, sleep early. Goodnight."
