Chapter 440 I Don't Have Much Time Left

Jair had changed.

Perhaps it was due to his long tenure in the military, where he naturally exuded an aura of authority as an officer. However, after becoming intimate with Claudia, he had transformed into a completely different person.

What if other women approached him? Claudia's heart suddenly tightened. She knew Jair was different from David. But David's actions had left a shadow in her heart.

Many men might not be able to resist temptation and make mistakes. Otherwise, why were there so many divorces?

Of course, not all cheaters were men; women could cheat too. But Claudia knew she would never cheat.

Moreover, she always felt that standing next to someone as outstanding as Jair, she wasn't good enough.

That woman in the military uniform looked great. The distance was too far for her to see the woman's face clearly, but she could see her smiling.

Jair must be smiling too, right?

Claudia looked over and saw Jair's cold, unfeeling face, reminiscent of when they first met. Even from such a distance, she could feel the chill emanating from him.

Claudia suddenly smiled. She took a few steps forward, emerging from the shadows.

Where she had been standing was unlit, so the people in the distance couldn't see her. Now she stood under a streetlamp.

The area around the military base was off-limits. When Claudia appeared, everyone's eyes naturally turned to her.

Jair was stunned for a moment, then he started walking towards her.

Claudia stood with her hands behind her back, smiling sweetly at him.

Jair's eyes were only on her. He walked over quickly, hugged Claudia, then let go and asked, "Why are you here?"

"To pick you up," Claudia smiled at him. "To take you home."

"Okay." Jair held her hand. "Let's go home."

The two walked back hand in hand.

Jair's car was still parked nearby, and the woman in the military uniform looked over as they approached. "Mr. Cook, who is she?"

Jair let go of Claudia's hand and then put his arm around her waist. "My girlfriend."

After saying that, he had no intention of introducing Claudia further and said directly, "That's it. I need to take my girlfriend home."

He opened the passenger door for Claudia, closed it, and then got into the driver's seat.

He started the car and drove off, not looking at anyone else the entire time.

Once on the road, he held Claudia's hand.

Claudia said, "Focus on driving."

"It's okay," Jair said, unwilling to let go. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

"I was looking for your car, planning to call you when you got here."

"Trying to surprise me?"

Claudia nodded and then asked, "Was that woman just now your colleague?"

"She's a colleague from the military base hospital," Jair said. "But we're not very familiar; I've only seen her a few times before."

"Oh."

"What's wrong?" Jair thought for a moment. "Are you jealous?"

Claudia didn't say anything and turned to look out the window.

"Silly Claudia," Jair said, patting her head. "Don't overthink it; there's nothing going on."

Claudia pulled his hand down. "Focus on driving!"

"Okay," Jair said. "Did you come to pick me up tonight because you missed me? I thought I was the only one missing you."

"What are you talking about?" Claudia's ears turned a bit red. "Jair, why are you... why are you so cheesy now?"

"How is this cheesy?" Jair said. "Can't I say sweet things to my girlfriend?"

Claudia felt she couldn't win against him. And she felt that because she came to pick him up, Jair seemed especially excited.

This was evident when they went to bed later. Jair finally heard her call him "husband."

Jair was very satisfied.

Compared to their lovey-dovey moments, Stuart felt quite lonely.

Josephine was extremely busy and had been staying at the research institute for the past few days. This was just part of the project research; the next phase would have to be conducted abroad.

Stuart felt that his separation from Josephine had already begun. Although Josephine hadn't left yet, he couldn't see her now!

Because Andrew came to Celestia Springs, Jeffery also stayed here for a few days. But they still had to visit The Clarence Family.

Originally, Andrew came to Celestia Springs to meet with The Clarence Family, but Josephine got busy again.

Andrew thought about it and had Stuart inform The Clarence Family, arranging a time for a meal together.

It was because of Josephine that the two families had any interaction. But now that Josephine wasn't present, fortunately, Jeffery was there to keep things from being too awkward.

Through this meeting, The Clarence Family could see that Andrew genuinely cared for Josephine.

When Nicole went back, she said to Gerald, "If we had found Josephine a few years earlier, just based on Andrew, I would have agreed to her marrying into the Haustia Family. But if we had found Josephine earlier, Stuart wouldn't have dared to bully her so much, right?"

Gerald said, "Mom, Josephine said there were misunderstandings in the past, and we can't blame Stuart entirely."

"A married man should be responsible for his family and his wife! It's his fault for getting a divorce!"

"But I heard it was Josephine who insisted on the divorce."

"Then... Josephine was right to do so. She's an independent woman, brave and strong, daring to break free from the shackles of marriage!"

"Mom, when Stuart asks for a divorce, it's irresponsible. When Josephine asks for a divorce, it's brave and strong. Your double standards are quite something."

Nicole snorted, "Josephine is my daughter; of course, I have to spoil her!"

Josephine, who was being talked about, sneezed. After working for a few more hours, she finally took a break to eat.

At this time, she confirmed with her colleagues abroad that she would be leaving for another country tomorrow.

Josephine didn't have time to tell Stuart and drove home. On the way, she called Jair to ask about his proposal plans.

Jair said, "You're going abroad, so don't worry about our stuff. If I propose, I'll record a video for you to see."

Josephine laughed, "Good luck!"

Tonight, Jeffery happened to be at the Haustia Family's house. When Josephine returned, Stuart was watching Andrew and Jeffery play chess.

When Josephine walked in, all three looked up at her.

Stuart was surprised, "You're back?"

Jeffery reacted quickly and ran over, "Mommy!"

Josephine hugged him and greeted, "Grandpa, I'm back."

Andrew smiled, "You must be exhausted."

"Not too bad," Josephine said. "I'll stay home for one night and leave for abroad tomorrow."

After a brief reunion with her family, Andrew and Jeffery finally went to bed.

Stuart almost couldn't wait to carry Josephine back to their room.

He looked at her pitifully, "I don't have much time left."

Josephine laughed, "What are you going to do?"

"What do you think?" Stuart said as he started undressing her. "I'm going to make up for all the sex we missed in the past few days!"
