Chapter 265 Why Fear Laws When Death Beckons
Right now, Claudia was clutching Jeffery, huddled in the corner.
She had just gotten off near the studio when two people suddenly grabbed her and shoved her into a car.
Next thing she knew, they were in this place.
It was a basement, cold and empty.
Claudia had no idea who she had pissed off. She wasn't scared of much; worst case, she'd lose her life.
But she had Jeffery with her!
If Jeffery got hurt because of her, even a little, Claudia would never forgive herself!
Then, not long after, she saw Robin.
When Robin walked in, Claudia almost didn't recognize him.
The old Robin, while not as noble and handsome as Stuart, was still a charming guy, tall and good-looking.
The current Robin had a scruffy beard, dark circles, and messy hair—a stark contrast to the Robin she knew!
"Claudia," Robin said, "long time no see."
Hearing him speak, Claudia dared to recognize him and asked, "Are you Robin?"
Robin sneered, "I look like this now, even you don't recognize me, right?"
"What are you doing?" Claudia said angrily, "Why did you bring us here? This is illegal, you know that?"
Robin said, "Illegal? I'm on the brink of death, and you think I give a damn about the law?"
Stuart had acted against him, and the Bailey family had ditched him without a second thought.
Robin's private assets were swallowed up by Stuart through various means.
So now, Robin was broke.
It's always easier to start living frugally, but after living in luxury, it's hard to go back.
What kind of life had Robin lived before?

"Robin, calm down!" Claudia looked at him. "Whatever it is, take it out on me, but Jeffery is innocent."
"Take it out on you? This ain't about you!" Robin walked over step by step. "I want Jeffery!"
As long as Jeffery was in his hands, wouldn't Josephine have to listen to him obediently?
Claudia held Jeffery and stepped back. "Robin, you're crazy! Jeffery is just a child! What are you going to do?"
"What can I do?" Robin's smile was sinister. "Josephine had Jeffery with Roy, how am I worse than Roy? Why doesn't she like me!"
Claudia quickly covered Jeffery's ears, looking at him in disbelief. "You, you like Josephine?"
"Yes!" Robin grinned weirdly. "I've liked her for over ten years, can you believe it?"
Claudia was stunned. "You like her, but you always bullied her?"
"That was my special way of showing attention!" Robin roared, "You don't get it! You're all a bunch of idiots!"
Claudia's body shook.
She realized Robin's emotions were all over the place, his eyes bloodshot, almost like a madman.
Talking to someone like Robin, it was better not to provoke him.
Claudia said, "Josephine is divorced, you could treat her right, go after her, but why are you doing this now? If you take Jeffery, how sad will she be when she finds out?"
Robin yelled, "Her child? Jeffery is a child who shouldn't exist! Once he's out of the picture, Josephine won't have any ties. She wants a child? Fine, she can have one with me, as many as she wants. Ah!"
He suddenly screamed, and Claudia's eyes widened in shock as she saw Stuart appear out of nowhere.
Robin was kicked to the ground.
Stuart stepped on his back. "You're delusional! Who do you think you are to covet Josephine!"
"Stuart?" Robin struggled violently. "How did you get here? Where are the people outside?"
"What do you think?" Stuart pressed down hard, making him unable to move. "Robin, I originally wanted to spare your life, but I didn't expect you to do something so insane!"
"Stuart! How dare you!" Robin shouted, "Josephine had a child with Roy, doesn't that make you miserable? Serves you right! If I can't have her, neither can you!"
"Robin, how the hell did you end up like this? You're telling me without money and status, you're not even a man anymore?" Stuart's voice was cold. "You're pathetic!"
Robin stayed quiet for a beat, then erupted in a fit of rage, cursing, cursing, "Stuart! I became like this because of you! Let me go, I'll kill you!"
Stuart said, "You were never as strong as me before. But now, look at you! Kill me? Do you have the ability?"
Robin suddenly started laughing.
The empty basement echoed with his laughter, making it even more eerie.
Robin replied, "Yes, I've become like this, but are you any better? You used to be so stupid, you believed everything I said! Seeing you treat Josephine so coldly and cruelly, do you know how happy that made me? Stuart, didn't you always think you were so great? I didn't push you to get a divorce for nothing! You think you can just waltz back in and win Josephine over? Dream on!"
Stuart's face darkened as he pressed down.
Robin screamed, his face half-pressed to the ground, but he still managed to speak, "Josephine will never forgive you in this lifetime! If I can't have her, neither can you!"
Stuart, with a cold face, grabbed him and punched him in the face.
Robin's body swayed, he looked up with a sinister gaze, and then threw a punch back.
The two quickly started fighting.
But it was clear that Robin was no match for Stuart.
He was soon beaten to the point where he couldn't fight back.
Stuart couldn't stop hitting him.
Unexpectedly, this was exactly the opportunity Robin wanted.
He took a punch from Stuart, his body staggered back, but while everyone was distracted, he quickly lunged at Claudia.
He snatched Jeffery from her arms.
