Chapter 87 Taking Advantage of Her While She Was Sick

The next day, Josephine had a fever.

When Andrew asked the housemaid to buy medicine, he learned from the maid that Stuart had left in the middle of the night.

Andrew was so angry that he called Stuart and told him to come back immediately.

Last night, Stuart got into bed with her; Josephine struggled hard, causing them to fall off the sofa.

When Stuart looked up, he saw the coldness and hatred in Josephine's eyes.

At that moment, Stuart's breath hitched; an inexplicable panic rose in his heart.

Taking advantage of his daze, Josephine pushed him away and ran out.

She went to the study, where the heater had been turned off at some point, and she was only wearing pajamas, which caused her to catch a cold.

However, she was afraid of worrying Andrew, so she didn't dare to go out. It wasn't until around five in the morning that she groggily returned to her room.

She got into bed, vaguely feeling that there was no one else in it.

She slept until after seven and was woken up by the maid knocking on the door.

Andrew was waiting for them to come down for breakfast. When they didn't show up, he had the maid call them.

That was when they found out Josephine had a fever and Stuart had left in the middle of the night.

No matter how tough Stuart was in front of Josephine, he still listened to Andrew.

Half an hour later, he returned to the Haustia Manor.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Andrew said angrily, "Josephine has a fever! What did you do last night? What was so important that you had to leave in the middle of the night?"

Stuart had waited in the bedroom for a long time last night, but Josephine never came back.

He thought Josephine had left the Haustia Manor in a fit of anger.

He didn't want to stay in the bedroom alone, so he left as well.

Who knew Josephine would end up with a fever?

Stuart said, "I'll go check on her."

Josephine had just taken her medicine and fallen asleep.

Stuart sat down by the bed, looking at her face.

Her skin was delicate, and her small face was only the size of a palm.

Her exquisite chin rested against the soft thin blanket, and her eyelashes quietly drooped down. Perhaps because of the fever, her lips were redder than usual.

She looked innocent and harmless, making Stuart's heart flutter.

Her personality had seemed to change recently; she spoke harshly and often made Stuart grit his teeth in anger.

He had been angrier recently than in all the previous years combined.

If only she were well-behaved when she was awake.

Stuart reached out and touched her forehead.

It was still hot.

She had just taken her medicine, so the fever wouldn't go down so quickly.

Stuart kept staring at her until Josephine moved, her arms stretching out from under the blanket, snapping him back to reality.

Her fever had broken, and she was sweating.

Stuart took a warm, wet towel and wiped the sweat from her body.

Josephine had barely slept all night; with the effect of the medicine, she didn't wake up even as Stuart wiped her entire body.

Her skin was a wheat color, and her whole body seemed to emit a soft glow.

At first, Stuart was focused; but as he wiped certain areas, he couldn't help but feel a desire.

After wiping her body and changing her clothes, Stuart was also sweating.

He looked down at the still-sleeping Josephine and couldn't help but take a deep breath against her chest.

Just taking a little interest.

Josephine woke up around noon.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she felt much lighter.

Just as she was about to get up, she suddenly felt something was wrong.

She sat up abruptly and pulled back the thin blanket to look inside.

Why was she wearing a camisole nightgown?

She hadn't been wearing this one before.

Josephine also felt quite refreshed.

Logically, when a fever broke, one should sweat and feel sticky.

She got out of bed and went to the bathroom. While washing up, she glanced at the mirror and was stunned.

The neckline of the silk nightgown was very low, exposing a large part of her chest.

On it were two glaringly obvious kiss marks.

They weren't there last night!

Stuart!

It could only be him!

He actually took advantage of her while she was sick?

Josephine thought Stuart was simply sick in the head; his mind filled with nothing but desire.

He wouldn't even spare a sick person!

Josephine was hungry now, so she changed her clothes and went downstairs.

To her surprise, Stuart was still there.

Andrew was probably taking a nap, and Stuart was on the phone.

Seeing Josephine come downstairs, he said a few words and hung up, then asked, "How are you feeling? Any better?"

Josephine glanced at him.

Stuart met her gaze.

They stared at each other, both expressionless.

Stuart spoke again, "Not talking to me?"

Josephine sat down and poured herself half a glass of warm water to drink.

Stuart lowered his voice. He said, "Don't push it. You had a fever, and I wiped you down, changed your clothes, and took care of you. I'm not asking for a thank you, but at least don't be too cold, okay?"

"Wiped me down, changed my clothes, took care of me?" Josephine sneered, "And then what? Took advantage of me while I had a fever?"

Stuart touched his nose and coughed lightly. He replied shyly, "That was an accident."

Josephine got up and walked towards the kitchen.

Stuart followed in big strides. He informed, "Grandpa has already scolded me. Let's not worry him anymore."

Josephine said she was hungry, and the maid brought the heated food to the dining room.

Josephine sat down to eat, and Stuart watched her from the side. He suggested, "You know how Andrew's health is. Let's not make him worry about us."

Josephine glanced at him and said sarcastically, "Does Mr. Haustia no longer have a rule about not talking during meals?"

Stuart gritted his teeth. He remarked, "You're just trying to piss me off!"

Josephine said nothing, so he could only wait for her to finish eating.

After Josephine was full, she wiped her mouth and finally said, "Andrew will find out about our situation sooner or later."

Stuart's face turned cold. He questioned, "What do you mean? Do you want to take this to Grandpa?"

Josephine calmly said, "It's impossible to hide it. After we get divorced, you'll have to remarry. Do you plan to keep such a big thing from Andrew forever?"

Before Stuart could say anything, she continued, "Even if you could hide it, would you really let her suffer such a big grievance?"

Stuart said angrily, "What exactly do you want?"

"Let's slowly talk to Andrew about the divorce," Josephine said, "If you find it hard to bring up, I'll do it."

"I think you just want to piss him off!" Stuart's voice was icy. He remarked, "We haven't even divorced yet, and you're already thinking about marrying someone else?"

Hearing his tone, Josephine knew he was about to lose his temper again.

She felt exhausted and didn't want to continue this meaningless argument with him.

She got up to leave, but Stuart grabbed her arm. He asked, threateningly, "You don't care about my opinion now, you don't care about Grandpa's health, and you don't care about the Kalmien family company's stability?"

"If you're going to use that to threaten me." Josephine broke free from his grip. She replied calmly, "then I have nothing to say."

Stuart thought of Robin's words.

He had said he could use the Kalmien family company to force her to divorce.

Unexpectedly, he was now using the Kalmien family company to threaten her not to divorce.

Stuart felt extremely ironic and aggrieved.

His heart was not only filled with anger but also an inexplicable panic.

This situation and these emotions were not what he wanted to see.

He didn't like things that were beyond his control.

He spoke, "Josephine..."

Josephine interrupted him, "What are you waiting for? Do you have to wait for her to come back before you'll agree to the divorce?"
