Josephine was stunned for a moment, then said, "Sure."
Stuart said, "I had a brief chat with him. He said that, given your situation, he needs to speak with you personally to determine the specifics."
"Okay, then you set up a time with him."
"Alright, I'll go with you when the time comes."
Josephine nodded. "I never thought I'd see the day when I'd need to see a therapist."
"It's all my fault..."
"Enough already," Josephine cut him off. "You're becoming an apology robot, constantly saying sorry all the time."
Stuart held her in his arms. "Josephine..."
They embraced each other without saying a word, feeling content just to be in each other's arms.
When Josephine got back, it wasn't late. Jeffery was still awake, and Nicole was reading a book with him.
Nicole had studied abroad back in the day, and now they were reading a foreign storybook together, even doing role-playing, having a lot of fun.
"You're back so early?" Nicole was a bit surprised and looked at the time. "I thought you'd be back after ten."
Josephine changed her shoes and walked over. "There wasn't much to do after dinner, so I came back. What are you guys reading?"
Josephine joined them in their reading. They played until almost ten, and then she took Jeffery to bed.
After a good night's sleep, Josephine went to the gym first thing in the morning, then had breakfast. Jeffery was usually taken to school by Nicole in the morning, so she didn't have to worry about it. After breakfast, she read a book at home for a while, and at ten o'clock, Josephine went out. She had an appointment to meet Kathy today.
As soon as she saw her, Kathy said, "Can I give you a hug?"

"Thank you," Kathy said, her eyes red.
After they sat down, Josephine said, "No need to thank me. Is everything resolved now?"

"How's your dad doing now?"

"That's amazing," Kathy said, taking out a gift bag. "To show my gratitude, here's a gift for you."
"A gift?" Josephine quickly said, "No need, just treat me to a meal."
"That won't do. You helped me so much; I have to show my appreciation."
"But I didn't help you to get a gift," Josephine said. "You still have many expenses ahead. I really don't need it."
"Please take it, or I won't feel at ease."
Josephine had no choice but to accept it. She then asked, "Are you really not planning to date anytime soon?"
Kathy said, "With my dad like this, I don't have the heart for it. But before, my dad said he wanted me to find a boyfriend soon because he's afraid he won't be around."
"Your dad is just worried about you," Josephine leaned in. "So hurry up and find a boyfriend. What do you think of Gerald?"
Kathy was stunned. "Huh?"
Josephine said, "Gerald is just a bit busy with work, but he's actually very gentle. I know his situation isn't great, and he has a child, but he's a good person."
"I..." Kathy pointed at herself. "Are you introducing Gerald Clarence, to me?"
"Would you mind his age?"
"I should be worried if Mr. Clarence would be interested in me."

After parting with Josephine, Kathy tried sending Gerald a message: [Mr. Clarence, my dad's situation has been resolved. I'm very grateful. Would it be convenient for me to treat you to a meal?]
For a long time, Gerald didn't reply. Kathy sighed and stopped staring at her phone.
It wasn't until the evening, after she had taken a shower and was about to go to bed, that her phone suddenly chimed with a notification.
She quickly grabbed it and looked. It was a reply from Gerald: [No need.] Short and cold, filled with indifference.
