Chapter 531 I Won't Run

Kathy really enjoyed spending time with Gerald.

But today, for Kathy, it felt like a dream, so sweet.

Gerald was leaving, and she thought it was good, giving her some time to calm down.

Otherwise, she really felt like she was floating.

This day really felt like a dream.

Before Gerald left, he reminded her, "If someone knocks on the door, don't open it. I'll be back later."

Kathy was stunned, "You're coming back?"

Gerald smiled at her, "What? You don't want me to come back?"

"No," Kathy said, "If we live together, shouldn't you tell your family?"

Gerald said, "If my mom knew we were living together, she'd be overjoyed. It's just..."

"Just what?" Kathy asked quickly.

"It's just, I'm afraid she'll be happy for nothing."

Kathy was puzzled, "Why would it be for nothing?"

Gerald explained, "You know, a few days ago, my mom and Josephine were urging us to get married and have kids."

Kathy was dumbfounded.

Gerald, afraid of scaring her, said it in a joking tone.

He said, "Don't be afraid, I'm just teasing you."

Kathy patted her chest, "You really scared me."

"What are you afraid of?" Gerald asked her, "Afraid of marrying me? Or, afraid of having kids?"

"Not afraid of either," Kathy said softly, "Just feels too fast."

Gerald hugged her, "Don't worry, I won't let you worry about these things. I'm leaving now, wait for me to come back."

When Gerald returned, Nicole originally thought Gerald would be very angry.

But unexpectedly, she saw a spirited Gerald.

"What's this..." Nicole was puzzled, "What's going on? The West family's matter, resolved?"

Gerald said, "Resolved, just handled according to the law."

Nicole said, "Later, Chris Diaz from the Diaz family is coming. We've had a relationship with the Diaz family for so many years, we can't ignore it."

Gerald came back home because Chris was coming.

He said, "Mom, don't worry about these things, leave it all to me."

Nicole said, "Just in time, Chris is here, I'll say I'm not feeling well."

With the Clarence family's current status, even if they didn't give Chris face, no one would dare say anything.

But it was precisely because they valued relationships that they couldn't turn Chris away.

When Chris came, Nicole didn't leave her room, and Gerald entertained him.

His behavior was courteous and respectful, without any faults.

Chris said, "Gerald, you probably know why I'm here, so I'll get straight to the point. The West family was indeed wrong, and to show their sincerity, they are willing to give a courtyard-style house."

Gerald knew about the courtyard-style house left by the West family's ancestors.

Now it was priceless and basically impossible to buy.

They also understood the seriousness of this matter.

The Clarence family doing this meant that the West family would no longer have a foothold in Celestia Springs, and they could lose their entire family business.

Now, giving away a courtyard-style house, although at a big price, was better than losing the entire business.

Gerald said, "That's quite a gesture."

Chris also said, "Yes, they really know they were wrong, and they will strictly supervise that girl in the future. I heard they plan to send her abroad. Gerald, for my sake, can you give them a chance?"

Gerald said, "Mr. Diaz, you watched me grow up, and I've always respected you. Let me put it this way, if the West family targeted me, you wouldn't need to come, a phone call from you would solve it."

Chris understood his meaning, "So it's still a no?"

"They targeted my girlfriend, my future wife. If the instigator doesn't receive the deserved punishment, does that mean anyone can bully my girlfriend with a house or a courtyard?"

Chris was speechless.

In the end, when he left, he said to Gerald, "That girl is very lucky to have found a man like you."

Gerald said, "I think this is something any man would do."

Chris shook his head, "Not necessarily. Gerald, don't worry, I'll handle this."

After Chris went back, no one knew what he said to the West family.

Soon, the West family's assets were completely withdrawn from Celestia Springs.

A few years later, the West family was completely gone from Celestia Springs.

That was a later story, but for now, Elara received the punishment she deserved.

The Clarence family's attitude also told everyone how protective they were.

Kathy didn't know how this matter was finally handled.

But Josephine knew.

Especially when Nicole secretly listened in her room and heard what Gerald said, she conveyed it to Josephine.

Josephine then told Kathy.

She said, "Do you know what Gerald said? He said no one can bully you, no matter who pleads. The person who came to our house was a highly respected elder!"

Kathy actually didn't know how Gerald handled this matter.

That night, Gerald came back very early. Kathy originally thought Gerald would come back after dinner, but he came back to have dinner with Kathy.

After dinner, the two of them snuggled on the sofa.

Gerald said to her, "I told my mom about us. Do you know what she said?"

Kathy, of course, didn't know, "What did Mrs. Clarence say?"

"She said not to bully you. It's hard to find a girlfriend, don't let me scare you away."

"Why did Mrs. Clarence say that? You didn't bully me."

Gerald said, "My mom thinks I don't know how to date or make a girl happy. In her eyes, I'm a workaholic, and even if I managed to trick a girl, it wouldn't last long."

Kathy couldn't stop laughing.

Gerald continued, "Now you know why my mom is urging us to get married and have kids? Because she's afraid you'll run away."

Kathy snuggled in his arms, "I won't run away."

"Really?"

Kathy nodded, "As long as you don't drive me away, I won't run."

"How could I drive you away?" Gerald kissed her, "I want to hide you away."

Maybe it was like this when you're in love, two people sticking together, saying sweet things.

Thinking about it now, Kathy still felt sweet inside.

Gerald went out for a morning run and brought back breakfast.

He wanted Kathy to rest at home for a few more days.

Kathy's hand was still injured and hadn't recovered, making work inconvenient.

So she took another two days off.

Gerald went to work, and she was home alone.

Josephine called, and they talked for a long time.

Josephine told her about Gerald's insistence, and that Elara would definitely face legal punishment.

Kathy was certainly moved.

She didn't expect Gerald to value her so much.

Josephine said, "So, since you two have such a good relationship, why not strike while the iron is hot and get married?"
