Chapter 546 For the Daughter-in-law

Kathy asked him, "Gerald, do you men change after making love with a woman?"

Gerald didn't answer her question and asked her first, "What did you call me?"

Kathy blushed.

Gerald couldn't help but kiss her again.

It was hard to imagine a woman in her thirties having both charm and innocence at the same time.

When Kathy got shy, Gerald couldn't help but want to tease her more.

Gerald held her in his arms and asked again, "What did you call me?"

Kathy buried her face in his chest and whispered, "Honey."

"That's more like it," Gerald said with satisfaction. "What's different? How am I different? Aren't I still me?"

"It's different," Kathy said. "You weren't this much of a rogue before."

Gerald felt wronged, "Rogue? How am I a rogue? Isn't this just a normal physiological need? Please understand, I haven't touched a woman in years."

Kathy's ears were burning. "Stop talking."

Gerald chuckled, "Alright, I won't say anymore. Will you come home with me tonight?"

Kathy thought about meeting Nicole and suddenly got nervous again.

Gerald said, "You're so beautiful and highly educated, my mom will definitely like you."

Kathy didn't say anything, so Gerald added, "Don't worry, Josephine will be there too. Does that make you feel better?"

Kathy finally nodded.

Gerald asked, "In your heart, does Josephine make you feel safer than I do?"

Kathy shook her head, "No, it's just that... I can't really explain it. People always say that a husband's mother and daughter-in-law are natural enemies."

"My mom is different," Gerald said. "You'll see when you meet her."

"I don't need to meet her to know. You and Josephine are both kind and upright, so your mom must be a good person too."

Holden's rehabilitation place wasn't too far, just a two-hour drive.

So Gerald's plan to take Kathy home changed.

They first picked up Holden, then met up with Nicole, and the two families had a meal together, finally meeting each other.

Most people dated, met their parents, and then got married.

But these two got their marriage certificate first, and then the parents met.

Nicole took the initiative to speak, "Mr. Nelson, it was our Gerald who didn't handle things properly. We should have invited you over to meet much earlier."

Gerald also raised his teacup, "Dad, I was wrong in this matter. I apologize with tea instead of wine."

Before Holden could say anything, Kathy said, "Dad, it's not like that, it was me..."

Gerald squeezed her hand under the table.

Holden actually knew that it was his daughter who dragged Gerald to get the marriage certificate.

Kathy had explained it to him.

Now that Holden had met Nicole, Ulysses, and Josephine, and her husband, he knew they were all good people.

He felt reassured that Kathy had married into such a family.

Moreover, Kathy had told him that Gerald didn't sign a prenuptial agreement, which meant that if anything happened in the future, it would be Gerald who would suffer.

Now, seeing Nicole's kindness in person, Holden's last worry disappeared.

He naturally hoped for Kathy's happiness.

In his eyes, Kathy was excellent.

But many people often thought that a girl being too highly educated wasn't a good thing.

Kathy had trouble finding a suitable partner because of her high education.

Unexpectedly, she ended up with Gerald.

The meal was enjoyed by all.

Especially seeing Kathy and Josephine getting along so well, and Ulysses showing great respect for Kathy, Holden felt even more at ease.

After dinner, Gerald and Kathy took Holden back to the hotel.

He insisted on staying at the hotel for one night and would return the next day.

He would come back for Kathy's wedding.

After settling him in, Gerald said, "Let's go back to my place."

Kathy knew that sooner or later, she would have to go home with Gerald.

But having met Nicole tonight, her nervousness had lessened a lot.

At the Clarence Mansion, Nicole spoke a few words to her and then brought out a set of emerald jewelry.

"This was given to me by Gerald's grandmother. Now, from my hands, it will be passed to my daughter-in-law." She pushed the jewelry towards Kathy, "Kathy, this is for you."

Kathy was startled by the color of the jewelry.

Such jewelry couldn't be measured by price.

She quickly said, "Mom, this is too valuable, you should keep it, I can't take it."

Nicole said, "I gave it to you, so you should accept it."

She looked at Gerald with some difficulty.

Gerald smiled, "Mom gave it to you, so you should accept it."

"Yes," Nicole said, "It's all yours! In the future, you can pass it on to your daughter-in-law."

Gerald added, "Take it."

Kathy thought for a moment and said, "Thank you, Mom."

Nicole looked at her, more and more satisfied, "Kathy, have you and Gerald discussed having children? I'm not rushing you; if you want to have them, I can help take care of them. If not, it's up to you."

Kathy didn't expect Nicole to ask such a bold question right away.

She immediately looked to Gerald for help.

Gerald helplessly looked at his mother, "Mom, I haven't discussed this with Kathy yet. Why are you in such a hurry?"

Nicole said, "No hurry, no hurry, you two can discuss it slowly."

They stayed at the Clarence Mansion for over half an hour before leaving.

Before they left, Nicole saw them off and asked if they wanted to stay at home.

Gerald said they needed to discuss it.

On the way back, Kathy said, "You should return this jewelry to Mom; I can't take it."

Gerald said, "Why can't you take it? The Clarence Family always passes it to the daughter-in-law. What? Aren't you my mom's daughter-in-law?"

"But it's too valuable."

"No matter how valuable, it's just a necklace, an accessory to be worn. Don't make a big deal out of it."

Kathy said, "I can keep it, and pass it on to Ulysses' wife in the future."

"You," Gerald looked at her, "Let's go home and discuss it."
