Chapter 82 Help Me Shower
As they turned, someone suddenly whipped out a dagger and lunged at Stuart.
Even though Doris knew it was coming, she froze for a second when she saw the dagger.
In a heartbeat, the dagger found its mark.
Doris snapped back and screamed, "Stuart!"
However, it wasn't Stuart who got hurt.
In that split second, Josephine had thrown herself in front of him.
With no time to dodge, she braced herself, but the pain never came.
Instead, she felt the world spin as Stuart twisted, holding her tight, but they couldn't avoid the dagger completely.
The dagger sank deep into Stuart's arm.
Stuart's crew quickly subdued the attacker.
Doris was stunned. Not only did she fail to show Stuart her bravery and love, but she also saw Josephine's selflessness and Stuart's...
Stuart must be nuts. Why would he take a knife for Josephine?
He could've dodged, but he chose to shield Josephine.
In the end, Stuart got hurt.
Josephine kept a stern face as she quickly treated Stuart's wound.
The dagger wasn't super sharp, but it still cut deep.
Luckily, it was winter, and the thick clothes prevented a worse injury.
Stuart getting stabbed at the airport, a public place, was shocking. Someone actually pulled off an assault there.
Afterward, they all went to the airport police station.
As the victim, Stuart first went to the airport medical room to get his wound treated and bandaged, then gave his statement.
By the time they got back to Haustia Manor, it was already seven or eight in the evening.
The whole ride, Josephine didn't say a word, and neither did Stuart.
It was only when the nurse was disinfecting the wound that Josephine softly said, "Please be gentle."
Sitting in the car on the way back to Haustia Manor, Josephine's mind was still racing.
When the danger came, she didn't have time to think; her body just reacted.
She had to admit, Stuart still meant a lot to her.
Thankfully, Stuart's injury wasn't too bad. The wound didn't even need stitches, just a change of dressing every couple of days and keeping it dry.
Stuart didn't speak, partly because he was exhausted from the trip abroad.
Another reason was that when he saw Josephine standing in front of him, he didn't have time to think; his heart just pounded fiercely.
In that moment, he even thought that if anything happened to Josephine, he would kill that person!
He didn't hesitate for a second; all he could think about was not letting her get hurt.
Afterward, Stuart reflected on his thoughts at the time and couldn't understand why he was so afraid.
Afraid that Josephine would get hurt.
Why would he protect Josephine without hesitation.
Even if it meant putting himself in danger.
He couldn't figure it out, so he didn't want to talk about it.
Just as they arrived at Haustia Manor and before getting out of the car, his phone rang.
He glanced at Josephine, who got out first.
He answered the call.
Robin immediately asked, "You got hurt? How bad is it? Not serious, right?"
Stuart knew Robin always had his sources.
The injured person was Stuart, a significant figure in Hustalia whose influence could shake the economy.
The airport police didn't mess around; someone had already reported it, and the top brass showed up.
So, it made sense that Robin knew about it.
"It's nothing serious," Stuart said.
Robin replied, "I heard you got hurt saving Josephine? When will you stop playing the hero? Last time you got hurt because of Doris, too. You need to take care of yourself."
Robin got the scoop from a call Doris made to him.
Doris was uneasy.
Stuart's reaction seemed to show he was really concerned about Josephine.
It didn't look like he didn't care about her at all.
Doris detailed the situation.
Then she asked, "You said Stuart has no feelings for Josephine, but..."
Robin was certain. He reassured her, "Impossible! Don't worry, leave this to me. By the way, I heard Stuart got hurt last time because of you?"
Doris was embarrassed to admit her situation then was completely different from today.
Stuart was accidentally hurt that time. She said that this time it completely on purpose.
Robin was silent for a few seconds. He said, "Leave it to me."
He quickly called Stuart.
After Robin finished talking and hung up the phone, Stuart frowned deeply.
Was it really just his nature?
Yes, Josephine was a woman; he couldn't just watch a woman get hurt in front of him.
Also, Josephine was his wife and a beloved granddaughte-in-law of Andrew.
If Andrew knew she got hurt, he would definitely be worried.
Thinking this way, Stuart found it very reasonable.
He felt like he had sorted out his complex thoughts and didn't think further.
Or rather, he subconsciously resisted from thinking deeper.
He liked someone, and had liked her for years.
He always thought he would like her forever.
Now if someone told him otherwise.
Stuart would absolutely not accept it and would even resent such a change. He hated anything beyond his control.
Robin's words were exactly what he wanted to hear.
Afraid Andrew would worry, they both tacitly agreed not to tell him about it.
After dinner with Andrew, Andrew didn't let Josephine accompany him to play chess and directly sent them upstairs.
In Andrew's view, the couple hadn't seen each other for a long time; it was more important for them to go to bed and give him a grandchild.
Upstairs, Josephine went straight to take a shower.
When she came out, she saw Stuart was shirtless.
His muscles were smooth and powerful, with well-defined abs that could make any woman swoon.
Josephine glanced at him and then looked away.
"Help me shower," Stuart said.
Josephine looked at him in surprise, thinking she had misheard. She said, "What?"
"Help me shower," Stuart repeated.
Josephine said, "Can't you shower by yourself?"
"I'm injured." Stuart showed her his wound. He explained, "I can't get it wet."
Josephine said, "You only hurt one hand; it doesn't stop you from showering."
"Josephine!" Stuart was annoyed. He remarked impatiently, "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be hurt. I got hurt saving you! What, you won't even help me shower? I helped you shower before!"
Josephine felt he had ulterior motives.
Talking about showering was just an excuse.
Who knew if Stuart wanted to sleep with her again.
She said, "Did I ask you to save me!"
Stuart's anger flared, and he blurted out, "If it weren't for Grandpa, do you think I would save you!"
Josephine laughed at herself. She scoffed, "So, you were afraid Andrew would worry."
Stuart didn't know why, but he felt a bit flustered.
He forced himself to speak firmly, "Are you going to help me shower or not!"
