Chapter 412 Choosing a Man
Even though it wasn't a party, Stuart's get-together clashed with Nicole's bash, so Josephine couldn't tag along with him.
Nicole had someone send over a whole wardrobe for Josephine ahead of time. Not just clothes, but shoes, jewelry, bags, and even a stylist to do their makeup and hair.
Ulysses and Jeffery were chilling on the couch, watching the two women get pampered by the stylists.
Ulysses said, "I never knew Grandma was into this kind of stuff."
With no other women in the house besides Nicole, it was the first time Ulysses realized how much effort it took for women to get ready to go out.
Jeffery added, "In my life, I've only seen two women fuss over this stuff: Grandma and Mom."
Ulysses glanced at him, "Jeffery, isn't it a bit early to say that? Are you not planning to get a girlfriend or wife in the future?"
Jeffery kept a straight face, "Not interested."
Ulysses couldn't stop laughing, "You might not be interested now, but you'll see."
Jeffery looked at him, "What about you? Are you dating anyone now?"
"Not really," Ulysses said, "After all, the girl who deserves me hasn't been born yet."
"Well, with that arrogant attitude, it's going to be hard to find a girl who matches you."
Ulysses gave him a light knock, "What are you talking about? Don't think just because you're younger, I won't dare to hit you!"
Jeffery said, "Do you believe if I call out, Grandma will come and hit you?"
Imagining that scene, Ulysses chickened out. He said, "Before you came, I was the most spoiled one in this house."
"Well, sorry, but I'm cuter than you."
"No, that's just because you're younger than me."
Jeffery gave him a look, "If you don't admit it, there's nothing I can do."
Ulysses realized that Jeffery's words were really annoying. The key issue was that he couldn't argue back with Jeffery. Moreover, Jeffery seemed to single him out. In front of others, Jeffery was quite well-behaved.
Actually, it wasn't Jeffery's fault for bickering with him; Jeffery had never had siblings before and didn't know how to enjoy this kind of interaction. Now he finally had someone to bicker with.
The two kids were really bored, watching the women fuss until they were done. But honestly, after the makeover, both of them were stunning.
Josephine, of course, didn't even need to be mentioned. She was beautiful, tall, and had an outstanding presence—the kind of person who would look stunning even in a burlap sack. Today, with this makeover, she was so stunning that people couldn't take their eyes off her.
Jeffery said to Ulysses, "If I ever find a wife, she has to meet my mom's standards, right? Do you think that's easy?"
Ulysses shook his head, "That's too hard. Jeffery, staying single is more realistic."
Jeffery added, "Grandma looks so beautiful today too."
For so many years, Nicole hadn't felt like dressing up. Now, with the makeover, her outstanding features were fully highlighted. She was a beauty herself, and even though she was older, her elegance and grace were ingrained in her bones.
The two kids went up and showered her with compliments.
Nicole's mood was incomparable to before. Listening to the kids' praises, she was overjoyed.
Looking at the full-length mirror, with Josephine holding her, Nicole felt that when they went to the party, Josephine would definitely be the center of attention! So many young talents would surely like her!At Lisa Moore's birthday bash, Josephine totally stole the spotlight. Not only were the guys checking her out, but a lot of the girls were eyeing her too. Word had spread that the youngest daughter of The Clarence Family had been found. Seeing her so close to Nicole, everyone figured she had to be the long-lost daughter.

Lisa spotted Josephine and couldn't help but gush. She and Nicole were tight and knew all about her struggles over the years.
"Now that Josephine is back, it's really wonderful," Lisa said, looking at Josephine. "She looks so much like you."
Josephine handed over a carefully chosen birthday gift. "Happy birthday, Mrs. Moore! Wishing you good health."
Nicole beamed, "My daughter is much prettier than me."
Lisa accepted the gift with a smile and said, "It's a pity my kids are all married; otherwise, I'd definitely introduce them to you!"
Nicole replied, "You know plenty of young people; you can introduce others to Josephine too."
Lisa asked, "Josephine really doesn't have a boyfriend? With all her great qualities, no boyfriend? I must introduce someone to her!"
When Lisa was younger, she loved playing matchmaker. Now that she was older, she didn't do it as much.
Nicole laughed, "Sure, that would be great."
In front of others, Josephine just smiled politely.
When others came to chat with Lisa, Josephine finally had a chance to pull Nicole aside. She said, "Mom, why did you let Mrs. Moore introduce me to someone?"
Nicole said, "You're not married yet; it's good to meet more people."
"But..."
"Alright, I know, I'm not forcing you to break up with Stuart. But what if you meet someone better? There's not just one man in the world; why are you so set on him?"
Josephine couldn't argue. She figured if Nicole really introduced her to someone, she'd just tell them the truth. She had a child and was with Stuart; once she explained, they'd understand.
But Josephine didn't expect the young talents Lisa introduced to her to be so unique. Throughout the party, Nicole kept pulling her to meet new people.
In the end, Lisa even kept her by her side, introducing her to several young men. Not only that, but Nicole made sure they added her contact info.
Josephine felt like she was speed-dating. Others got introduced to boyfriends one by one, but for her, they came in groups. It was clear how much Nicole disliked Stuart.
When Josephine got home, she found that all the guys who added her on WhatsApp had messaged her. Some even asked her out directly.
Josephine crafted a message and sent it to all of them. The gist was that she was divorced, had a child, and was currently in a stable relationship.
And then they all said they didn't mind and could just be friends.
