Chapter 326 Where Did I Lose?
Angela never thought Donna would be such a flop. Not only did she fail to mess things up between Stuart and Josephine, but she also ended up catching Stuart's eye.
Angela swung by Robin's place again and said, "If you hadn't stirred up so much drama, being with Donna wouldn't be so bad. She really likes you, you know."
Robin shot back, "What's the point if I don't like her? The only one I care about is Josephine."
Angela clenched her teeth, "What's so special about Josephine? Why is everyone into her? Didn't you hate her the most when you were kids?"
"Do you even know why I hated her?"
Angela was genuinely curious, "Why? You clearly hated her, so how did that turn into liking her?"
"I hated her because she never even looked at me! She was always hanging out with Liam and never gave me a second glance! Every time I went against her, she only had eyes for Stuart! What do I lack compared to them? Where did I fall short? Is she blind to my worth? If she had married me back then, I would've treated her like a queen! But no, she had to marry Stuart! How can I be okay with that?"
Angela found his rant amusing. She asked, "Robin, let me ask you something."
Robin, still fuming, looked at her, "What?"
"You like her, but did you ever tell her?" Angela asked, "Besides hating her and opposing her, what have you done for her? Did you ever make an effort for your love? You always acted like you didn't care about her, so how could she possibly like you?"
"Stuart hated her and opposed her too! So why does she like Stuart? She must be out of her mind!"
"You're such an idiot," Angela said, "When Stuart was ten, he carved a wooden sculpture for Josephine with his own hands. Did you know that?"
Robin was stunned, "What?"
Angela continued, "That's just one small thing I know. I'm sure Stuart did other things too, things we might not even know about."
"Impossible! We were almost always together back then!"
"There must have been times when you weren't together, right?" Angela said, "Stuart might have acted like he couldn't stand her when you were around, but behind the scenes, who knows how he was winning her over."
"He..." Robin gritted his teeth, "Sneaky bastard! Doing all this behind my back!"
"That's why I said you're an idiot! If you like someone, you have to tell her, go after her. Look at what you've done!"
Robin was annoyed, "Don't act all high and mighty. You like Stuart, did you succeed?"
Angela said, "That's because I knew Stuart liked Josephine. I knew he liked her a long time ago."
Robin said, "That's why I suggested you go abroad back then."
Angela said, "But I regret it. If I had stayed by his side, maybe I would've had a chance. But after I left..."
"What are you thinking?" Robin said, "If you had stayed by his side, that would have blown up sooner or later. By leaving, he feels grateful to you and still thinks of you."
"And now? What's the use? I thought with Josephine gone, I'd have a chance. But in these five years, I haven't even been able to get close to him!"
"At least now, you're still his lifesaver!" Robin said, "Just having that role alone gives you a ton of power."
Angela looked at him, "Robin, I..."
Robin stared at her, "You're not thinking of bailing on me, are you?"
"I'll figure out a way to talk to Stuart for you. I've realized that if Stuart doesn't like me, nothing I do will change that," Angela said.
"Don't even think about it!" Robin snapped, "If you back out, I'll spill everything!"
"Go ahead!" Angela shot back, "That was all your doing! If I'm in the wrong, I'm just a sidekick. You're the one pulling the strings!"
"Trying to avoid blame now?" Robin sneered, "Did I twist your arm to join in back then?"
"You don't have a choice now," Angela said, "At the worst, we'll both be found out. I might lose my title as Stuart's savior, but he won't blame me. What about you?"
Robin gritted his teeth, "We still have a chance, as long as you follow through."
"And end up like you, spending the rest of my life in prison?" Angela said, "I'm pretty content with my life right now."
"What about me?" Robin roared, "What am I supposed to do?"
Angela was Robin's last hope; he definitely wouldn't let go.
Angela said, "I told you, I'll plead for you. That's all I can do."
"How dare you!" Robin continued to roar, extremely agitated, "If you don't do as I say, I'll tell Stuart everything!"
Angela stood up, "Suit yourself."
Robin tried to smash the glass, "Get back here!" But the next second, he was restrained.
Meanwhile, Stuart had already received information about William and his mother from the investigation.
It turned out that after going abroad, Melissa had a man by her side.
At that time, Andrew had given her a sum of money that was enough for an ordinary person to live a luxurious life for a lifetime, prompting her departure.
So William didn't grow up in poverty, and that man was always with them.
It was as if they were a family.
After Melissa passed away, that man reportedly went on a world tour.
Anyway, William could earn money and provide him with funds.
Stuart also had someone check that man's blood type.
Sure enough, it was Rh-negative blood!
Now, there was no need for a paternity test; it was clear that William was not Elbert and Melissa's child!
Stuart couldn't describe how he felt.
William wasn't his half-brother, but that didn't mean Elbert hadn't cheated.
What was the truth behind this?
Stuart called Elbert, who was still at the old house with Andrew.
When he received the call, he was still pleasantly surprised, "Stuart?"
Stuart asked directly, "What exactly happened between you and Melissa back then?"
Elbert frowned, "Why are you asking about this again?"
"Tell me what happened back then."
Elbert said, "What's there to say? I already told you I was drunk, but no one believed me!"
Stuart said, "Tell me the details!"
Elbert had no choice but to say, "I was busy at the time. After drinking a cup of coffee, I felt dizzy. I went to the lounge, and when I came to, your mom and the others were around, with Melissa right beside me."
Now, Stuart was almost certain that Elbert had been set up!
But Melissa was already dead, and there was no evidence.
However, William's biological father was still alive.
Stuart didn't believe he knew nothing!
