Chapter 422 No More Suffering
Josephine stayed today with a specific thought in mind. After all, she had been seeing a therapist for a while and felt it was time to test the effectiveness of the treatment. So tonight, she decided she wasn't going to leave.
Stuart, on the other hand, didn't think much about it. He just felt deeply moved and wanted to be close to Josephine.
However, after Stuart kissed her, he remembered the issues between them. His kiss became gentle. His hands stayed still, resting beside him.
He wanted to stop, but as soon as he pulled away from Josephine's lips, she leaned in and placed his hand on her waist.
Stuart's heart skipped a beat.
In a low voice, he said, "Josephine..."
Josephine whispered, "Let's try."
Stuart didn't want to try. Not that he didn't want to, he just didn't want to rush into it.
He had patience and was willing to wait. He could wait until Josephine fully accepted him before doing anything else.
But now, a small gesture from Josephine was enough to make Stuart lose control. His hand landed on Josephine's smooth skin.
However, the next second, he felt Josephine's body tense up.
Stuart paused. Then, he withdrew his hand from her blouse and pulled her shirt down.
His lips brushed against the corner of Josephine's mouth. "Josephine, let's wait a bit longer."
Josephine reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I can do this."
"No rush," Stuart said, pulling her hand down and holding her in his arms. "We have plenty of time, really no rush."
Josephine didn't say anything more. In fact, she was still a bit nervous just now. So she wasn't sure if she was really ready.
Although they couldn't do much, Stuart couldn't bear to sleep apart from her.
Sleeping in the same bed, Stuart inevitably had some normal urges. In the end, Stuart took a cold shower to calm himself down before holding Josephine to sleep.
The next morning, Stuart was reluctant to go for his morning run. But he thought if Josephine woke up and he was holding her, he might react again, so he went for a run.

Stuart would definitely go to work later, so she would go home then.
Nicole sent another message: [Be careful about contraception.]
Josephine blushed. She quickly replied: [Mom, Stuart and I are not like that.]
Nicole quickly responded: [Is Stuart impotent? Then you need to reconsider your relationship with him.]
It wasn't that Stuart couldn't; it was that she couldn't. Josephine didn't know how to explain it to Nicole.

Nicole asked: [Why don't you agree? You two aren't young lovers anymore. Josephine, are you hiding something from me?]

Nicole put down her phone. She felt she increasingly didn't understand young people today.
Stuart and Josephine were both divorced, so being together now was normal. She didn't expect them to be so reserved.

As for whether they wanted children in the future, she could discuss that with Josephine.
For Nicole, she hoped Josephine could have another child. Having a son and then a daughter would be perfect. That would make her life complete.

Before that, she wanted to gauge Stuart's thoughts.
Stuart was planning to go to the office after dropping Josephine off, but Nicole came out and said she wanted to talk to him. She even sent Josephine inside first.
Josephine glanced at Stuart.
Nicole said, "What, are you afraid I'll bully him?"
Stuart smiled, "Of course not. Josephine, you go inside first. I'll chat with Nicole for a bit."
Josephine also said, "Alright, you two talk."
After Josephine went inside, Nicole asked, "What are your plans for the future?"
Stuart quickly said, "Are you referring to me and Josephine? I naturally hope to remarry Josephine soon and give Jeffery a complete family."
"That depends on Josephine's wishes," Nicole said. "Have you thought about whether you two want more children in the future?"
Nicole asked Stuart first because she was afraid Stuart might want children, and Josephine, not wanting them, might force herself to have them for his sake.
If it were before, Josephine couldn't rely on Todd for help. But now, she had a family. Nicole would naturally consider everything for her.
Stuart was taken aback and shook his head. "I haven't thought about that."
"Then think about it now," Nicole said. "If you two remarry, do you want more children?"
Stuart said, "We already have Jeffery. If Josephine wants more, we'll have more. If she doesn't, we won't."
"Really?" Nicole asked. "Is that your true thought?"
In this society, many men, especially wealthy men, still treated women as baby-making machines.
Stuart nodded. "Yes. Whether we have more children or not, I will respect Josephine's wishes."
"That's good," Nicole said, satisfied. "Remember what you said. In any case, you can't let Josephine be wronged in the future."
"I know," Stuart said. "I won't. You and Gerald can supervise me."
After Stuart left, Nicole went inside.
Josephine was sitting in the living room. Seeing her come in, she quickly asked, "Mom, what did you two talk about?"
Nicole said, "I sent you inside because I didn't want you to hear, and now you're asking?"
Josephine shook her arm. "Please tell me!"
Josephine's coquettishness was something Nicole couldn't resist. She genuinely liked Josephine, and with Josephine being so close to her, she liked her even more.
Perhaps it was the natural bond and connection between mother and daughter, but the two of them together felt like they had never been apart.
Nicole repeated what she had asked Stuart.
Josephine felt a bit embarrassed. "Mom, why did you think to ask him that?"
"It's something you two will face in the future, so I asked him in advance."
"And what did he say?"
"He said he'd follow your lead," Nicole said. "I'm quite satisfied with that."
Josephine leaned her head on her shoulder. "Mom, don't worry. I won't let myself be wronged in the future."
