Chapter 547 You Have to Think for Yourself

Kathy asked curiously, "What are we discussing?"

Gerald replied, "Two things. One is whether you can accept this jewelry. The other is about the child."

Kathy couldn't help but look at him. "Child?"

Gerald said, "We'll talk about it at home."

When they got home, as soon as they stepped out of the elevator, Gerald hugged and kissed her.

Once inside, he couldn't help himself and pressed her against the entryway, kissing her passionately.

Kathy could clearly feel that Gerald's kiss was filled with desire.

She struggled a bit, and Gerald stopped.

He looked at her intensely.

Kathy asked, "Aren't we supposed to discuss something?"

"We'll discuss it later." Gerald kissed her and carried her directly to the bedroom.

Kathy was soon lost in his kisses.

At today's family gathering, Josephine was overjoyed to see her.

The two of them went to the restroom together, and Josephine secretly asked her if they were planning to have a baby soon since they were already married.

Because Josephine and Gerald were siblings, Kathy couldn't complain about Gerald.

But it was clear that Josephine was genuinely happy for her.

Fortunately, Gerald was considerate this time. After just one round, he took her to the shower, and then they lay in bed without speaking at first.

They just cuddled, with Gerald playing with Kathy's fingers, turning them over and over, unable to get enough.

Finally, Kathy spoke up, "By the way, about that jewelry..."

"I told you to keep it," Gerald said. "And don't think about giving it to Ulysses. His mom left him plenty of things, and his grandmother also gave him some separately. So you don't need to worry about him. You should think about yourself, understand?"

"I don't lack anything."

"No one ever thinks they have too many good things," Gerald said. "You can be a little selfish."

"Being with you, I'm already very satisfied and happy," Kathy said, hugging him. "It feels like a dream."

"Silly girl," Gerald said, kissing her. "Anyway, you don't need to worry about Ulysses. You don't have to deal with him much, especially if we live elsewhere."

"Are you worried that Ulysses and I won't get along?"

"I'm a bit concerned. You see, Ulysses is my son, and you are my wife. If there's a problem, I must favor you. He's at an age where he's quite sensitive."

"Why would you need to favor me?" Kathy said. "Besides, I'll treat Ulysses well and won't have any issues with him."

"We need to consider these things because we're not just together for a year or two, but for a lifetime."

The words "a lifetime" sounded especially sweet coming from Gerald.

No matter what he said, Kathy agreed.

"By the way," Gerald added, "after we get married, let's live here first, okay? I've picked out a few new houses. You can choose one, and we'll fix it up a bit."

"I'm fine with that," Kathy thought for a moment. "Can't we just live here?"

Their first time making love was here, and she had feelings for this place.

Gerald said, "This place isn't big. I don't want you to feel cramped."

"I like it here," Kathy said. "Let's stay here."

Gerald smiled, "Okay."

"Do we really not need to live with Mom and them?"

Gerald said, "Maybe we can visit once a week? If you don't want to, we can go once a month."

"I'm okay with it," Kathy said. "We can visit every week."

Nicole would be lonely at home alone.

Josephine was pregnant now and visited less often.

Ulysses was in boarding school and only came home on weekends.

Gerald said, "My mom has a rich life now. You don't need to worry about her."

Kathy nodded.

Gerald continued, "And about having kids. You don't need to listen to what my mom says. I know you don't plan on having kids."

"Not exactly," Kathy said. "The project I worked on before had radiation, so I couldn't have kids."

"It's okay," Gerald said. "Whether you want kids or not, I support you."

Kathy asked, "If we have a child, will Ulysses feel uncomfortable?"

"Why would he? He actually wants a little sister. He's been asking for one."

"And you?" Kathy looked up at him.

Gerald touched her lips and said, "Do you want the truth or something nice to make you happy?"

Kathy looked at him without blinking. "What do you think?"

Gerald laughed, "Alright, I'll tell you the truth."

He paused for a few seconds before saying, "Honestly, I never really thought about starting a family before. I already have a son, and Josephine is back. I had no regrets."

Kathy nodded.

Gerald continued, "But I didn't expect to meet you and be with you. You see, everything started to change."

Kathy smiled.

Gerald added, "But even now, I don't have a strong feeling about having kids with you. Being with you is already very fulfilling. If we have a child, it would be great, but if not, I wouldn't feel regret."

He looked at Kathy, "Does that make you angry?"

Kathy shook her head, "No, actually, I feel the same way. Let's just let things happen naturally. Having a child would be wonderful, but not having one is okay too."

Gerald kissed her forehead, "If you want one, just tell me, and we'll prepare."

"Okay."

"I'll tell Mom that I don't want kids. That way, she'll feel like she's being unfair to you and treat you even better."

"Don't lie to Mom," Kathy said. "She's already very good to me. If you do that, I'll feel uneasy."

"You're so silly," Gerald said. "In the future, just accept whatever Mom gives you."

"Then I won't take long to become a rich woman."

"Marrying me means all my assets are yours. To be honest, you're already wealthier than 99% of the rich women in the country."

"Wow, I'm so rich!" Kathy laughed. "I'm happy!"

Gerald knew she didn't care about these things. "If you're so happy, should we do something even more enjoyable?"

Kathy panicked, "You, you, you have to work tomorrow."

"I'll just skip my morning workout and sleep in a bit," Gerald turned off the light. "The night is short, let's sleep early."

The next day, Gerald went to work on time, and Kathy slept until after ten.

Gerald left her a note, saying there was breakfast prepared at home.

Josephine also messaged her, asking to meet up.
