Why was William here?
Even though he had changed his outfit, his face was still very recognizable handsome and extraordinary. Josephine recognized him immediately.
She initially thought it might be someone who looked similar.
However, then William looked over at her, his lips curling into a slight smile.
It really was him!
In the morning, the soldiers had to do a five-kilometer run with weights.
Since the medical personnel had just arrived, they only had to run three kilometers and didn't need to carry weights.
Josephine, being the tallest among the women, was running at the back.
Soon, someone appeared beside her.
"Josephine," William called her.
Although Josephine usually exercised, running early in the winter morning was quite exhausting.
She adjusted her breathing and asked, "What are you doing here?"
William said, "You keep running, I'll find you later."
Josephine nodded in acknowledgement.
The five-kilometer run with weights was no problem for the soldiers; they completed it easily.
In contrast, the medical team was gasping for breath, staggering around, and looking very disheveled after they finished running.
Then it was breakfast time.
Some medical staff who were visiting the military base for the first time thought they could finally eat, only to find that many soldiers were lined up neatly, singing loudly and boosting morale.
Only after singing could they eat.
They ate quickly and silently.
The medical team could only eat quietly as well.
After breakfast, they had half an hour of free time. William came to find Josephine again.
He said, "There was a big international competition before, and people from our side participated as well. I was in charge of coordination, so I've been in contact with the military base."
So that's what it was.
Josephine asked him, "So why are you here this time..."
William naturally couldn't say he came for her.
He smiled. Then he said, "Let's call it a learning exchange."
William indeed had connections with the military base before. Even when he was abroad, he donated a large amount of supplies and money to the military base every year.
Josephine nodded in awe. She remarked, "That's impressive."

The afternoon training was divided into two phases; the medical personnel taught first aid knowledge, while the military base personnel taught self-defense and combat skills.
A colleague next to Josephine said, "He's so handsome!"
Indeed, among a group of rough men, William stood out.
Jair had just joined the team not long ago and hadn't interacted with William before.
He walked around the training ground and found that William and Josephine knew each other.
He asked Josephine about it, and she explained that William was a friend she met abroad.
In the evening, Jair received a call from Stuart.
Jair was puzzled. Although he and Stuart grew up together and were like brothers, Stuart was not the type to initiate contact.
Unless something was up.
So he answered the call and asked directly, "Stuart, what's up?"
Stuart replied, "Nothing, just wondering when you'll be on leave so we can have a drink."
Jair was puzzled. He reminded Stuart, "You forgot, I just took a few days off recently. I probably won't have time soon. If you want to drink, go find Robin."
Stuart responded with a sound.
He didn't say anything else but also didn't hang up.
Jair, not having time for small talk, said, "If there's nothing else, I'll hang up."
"Wait a minute," Stuart said, his voice a bit uneasy, "Josephine at the military base..."
Jair immediately understood. He interjected, "You want me to look after Josephine, right? Don't worry."
"Of course not!" Stuart said angrily, "I'm just asking if she's behaving appropriately at the military base. After all, she represents the Haustia family."
Jair frowned. He lectured, "First of all, Josephine is very capable, and your concerns are unfounded. Secondly, it's the modern era; women have their freedom. She represents herself, not the Haustia family."
Stuart was just looking for an excuse to call and found out how Josephine was doing at military base.
How could he say that directly?
Stuart asked, "So what do you guys usually do? You can't really make them train with the soldiers, can you?"
He was still worried about Josephine's period.
Josephine might talk tough, but she was actually quite delicate.
Once he saw her clutching her stomach and crying, and found out it was because of her period pain.
Now she wasn't resting at home but had gone to train at the military base.
Stuart would never admit he was concerned about Josephine; he thought if she fainted during training, it would still be a disgrace to the Haustia family.
Jair said, "They do train together, but the intensity isn't as high."
Stuart said, "Even so, Josephine can't handle it; her body..."
Jair said, "Stuart, don't underestimate people. I think Josephine is in good shape. Plus, she has someone guiding her. I think she'll be fine."
"Who's guiding her?" Stuart asked, "Your people?"
"Sort of our people," Jair said, "But it just so happens he's a friend of Josephine's."
Stuart was puzzled, he poised a series of questions, "A friend? What friend? What's his name? I didn't know she had friends at the military base."
Jair said, "You don't know all her friends, do you?"
"What kind of friend?" Stuart said, "I may not know all her friends, but I should know anyone at the military base."
Jair said, "You actually don't know this one. He was abroad before, and Josephine said they met abroad."
"Met abroad." Stuart was immediately alert. He inquired, "What's his name?"
"William. Do you know him?" Jair said.
Stuart sneered, "What a coincidence; I do."
Jair didn't think much of it. He simply mentioned, "You really know him? He's good at combat and grappling; the military base invited him to be an instructor. He was a trainer abroad before."
"He's here as an instructor?" Stuart said coldly, "Did you do a background check? Do you trust people from abroad? Are there no capable people here that you had to invite him?"
Jair laughed. He remarked, "Mr. Campbell is a patriotic businessman. He's donated a lot of supplies to the military base before. The background check is fine."
Stuart said, "I've donated a lot too."
"Stuart," Jair said helplessly, "What are you competing with him for? Since when did you become so competitive?"
Stuart said angrily, "If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up."
Jair looked at the phone and shook his head helplessly.
Unexpectedly, two hours later, he received another call from Stuart.
"Stuart?" Jair asked.
Stuart's voice was firm. He requested, "Find a way to get me to the military base."
Jair was shocked. Bewildered, he asked, "Why are you coming to the military base? To see me?"
Stuart said, "I haven't had a proper workout in a while. I happen to have some free time, so I'm going to train. Make the arrangements for me to train with the soldiers."
