Chapter 479 Accept the Reform Well
Stuart was taken aback. "What?"
Ronald quickly said, "Mrs. Haustia arrived over an hour ago, but you were in a meeting, and she didn't want me to disturb you."
Stuart extended his hand. "Give me the phone."
Ronald hurriedly handed it over.
Stuart took it.
On the other end, Josephine spoke, "Ronald, your meeting isn't over yet..."
"Where are you?" Stuart stood up directly, striding out while saying, "Meeting adjourned!"
Ronald followed him out.
His phone was still in Stuart's hand.
As they neared the elevator, Stuart hung up and tossed it back to Ronald.
Ronald quickly caught it.
"You're getting bolder." Stuart snapped.
Ronald quickly said, "Mrs. Haustia instructed me..."
"Are you her person or mine?" Stuart's voice was icy, "Don't let it happen again."
Ronald quickly said, "Thank you, Mr. Haustia, it won't happen again."
Stuart went downstairs and immediately saw Josephine sitting on the sofa.
She was sitting casually yet gracefully, looking down at a magazine.
He walked over quickly, sat down beside her, took the magazine from her lap, and held her hand. "Waiting so long, are you silly?"
Josephine saw him and smiled, "Finished the meeting?"
"No," Stuart said, "This meeting could go until three."
"Aren't you having lunch?"
"If the work isn't done, no one gets to eat."
"Am I interrupting your work then?"
"Honey, when you come, it's different." Stuart asked her, "Why didn't you let Ronald tell me?"
"I didn't want to disturb your work," Josephine said, "I didn't expect your meeting to last so long."
"Your visit isn't a disturbance," Stuart said, "I'm making money for you, I'm working for you, you're the boss."
"I'm the boss?"
"Yes," Stuart said, "Let's go eat and talk."
Josephine's visit visibly made him very happy.
"What do you want to eat?" He asked, "I heard from Ronald that there's a restaurant nearby that's pretty good."
"Anything is fine, as long as I'm with you," Josephine replied.
Stuart couldn't help but want to hug her, but there were too many people around.
He held her hand and said, "Thank you, boss, for the approval."
"Can I say a few words as your boss?"
"About what?"
"About work," Josephine said, "You can't have meetings during lunch. It's almost one o'clock, and you haven't had lunch. Over time, irregular eating will harm your stomach."
"Understood," Stuart said, "I'll listen to you and change in the future."
"Unless it's an emergency, have lunch first."
"Got it, I'll change next time."
Josephine was satisfied with his sincere attitude. "I'll give you a bigger bonus at the end of the year."
"Great," Stuart was very happy, "Then my pocket money will be the most!"
What was there to brag about?
Josephine was amused.
They went to a nearby restaurant for lunch, and the food was indeed very good.
After they had almost finished eating, Stuart asked her, "What made you think of visiting me today?"
Josephine finally said, "Actually, I got a call this morning."
Stuart asked, "What call?"
"Angela called me."
"She called you?" Stuart's expression changed immediately. "What did she say?"
"She said you wouldn't let her go," Josephine asked, "What's going on? Why did you have someone bother her again?"
Stuart didn't speak.
Josephine said, "Let the past be the past. We're doing well now, don't hold grudges against her."
"I don't hold grudges against her?" Stuart said, "Do you know what she did?"
Josephine was puzzled. "What did she do?"
Stuart said, "I didn't want to tell you, but who knew she would dare to contact you!"
"What happened?"
Josephine, recalling Stuart's recent odd behavior, asked him, "Are you hiding something from me?"
Stuart's jaw tightened, then he spoke, "The man who tried to harm you before was hired by her."
"What?" Josephine was shocked. "She hired him? But wasn't that man my patient's husband?"
His wife had died, and she was indeed Josephine's patient at the time.
But she was in the late stages of cancer, even God couldn't save her.
Stuart said, "I had people investigate for a long time. Initially, we couldn't find out who was behind him."
"Then how did you find out?"
"That man had an affair before his wife got sick, and the woman outside had a son with him. But that son was sick and needed money for surgery."
Josephine was stunned.
Stuart said, "So I had people investigate for a long time, but couldn't trace the source of his funds. It turned out the money never went through his hands, it was sent directly to the hospital for his son's treatment."
"You're saying Angela hired him? But why?"
"Why? You tell me why?" Stuart said, "Angela, that lunatic, couldn't stand seeing you happy, so she wanted to hurt you."
"She's crazy?" Josephine said, "Doesn't she know that's a crime?"
Stuart said, "Don't worry, she'll face legal consequences sooner or later. But before she goes to jail, let her experience some suffering as punishment."
Josephine said, "Forget it, let's follow the proper procedures. If you push her too hard, who knows what she'll do."
Stuart said, "Don't worry, my people are watching her, she can only make phone calls, nothing else."
"She's really..." Josephine was speechless. "Does she know she's going to jail?"
The case wasn't closed yet. Stuart had connections, even if the man admitted he wanted to kill Josephine, the case wasn't closed.
Now with new developments, the man quickly confessed everything under solid evidence.
And the arrest of Angela began.
When Angela was arrested, she shouted that they had the wrong person.
But once inside, she realized the truth was out.
Thinking about everything she had suffered recently, it was clear.
Stuart knew the truth and was tormenting her.
Tormenting her for so long wasn't enough; he was going to personally send her to prison.
Hiring someone to kill was a serious crime.
Moreover, Stuart would never let Angela have another chance to harm anyone.
When Josephine learned Angela was imprisoned, she couldn't help but sigh.
As she was thinking, her phone rang. She answered, and the person said, "Come out, accompany me somewhere."
