Chapter 481 Can Eat and Sleep

Stuart's voice carried a hint of grievance. "Why did you suddenly go to Hustalia?"

Josephine said, "I suddenly wanted to eat something here, so I came. Are you done with work?"

"Yeah, I called you before heading home, but no one answered. Grandpa said you went to Hustalia."

"I left my phone in the car. I'm with Laura, don't worry. We'll hang out for a bit, maybe we'll be back in time for dinner."

"Okay, I'll wait for you at home."

"Alright, I'll be back early."

After she hung up, Laura said, "You two are so clingy. You can't even be apart for a little while?"

Josephine laughed, "He was just worried because he couldn't reach me."

"That's what you get for leaving your phone behind." Laura linked arms with her. "You told him you'd be back before dinner? I wanted to stay out until after dinner."

Josephine asked, "Can you still eat?"

"There are still a few hours until dinner." Laura said, "Let's walk around, do some shopping, and digest. We'll head back after dinner."

She took out her phone, "You should text Stuart and let him know."

Since it was rare for them to go out together, Josephine naturally agreed.

She sent Stuart a message and then wandered around with Laura, chatting and exploring, feeling quite happy.

When they got tired, they found a place to sit and rest.

At five o'clock, Laura suggested going to eat.

Josephine asked, "Are you hungry?"

"Not really, but we should head back to Celestia Springs early. I don't want your husband to worry."

Josephine laughed, "Thank you."

They went to a private kitchen restaurant they frequented, ordered two signature dishes and two side dishes.

They used to come here often, and the owner knew Stuart. He came over to chat and even sent over a dish of ceviche and a fruit platter.

Ceviche was a dish they used to enjoy.

Laura took a bite and spat it out into a napkin with a frown.

Josephine was puzzled. "What's wrong?"

Laura said, "It tastes weird."

Josephine tried it, "No, it doesn't."

Laura said, "I just don't like it today. It's fine, you eat it."

"You used to love this dish." Josephine said, "You must have eaten too much today. I'm telling you, don't overeat or you'll get indigestion."

"I can eat other things just fine." Laura said, "I just don't like the ceviche today."

"What's wrong with your taste buds today?" Josephine laughed, not taking it seriously. "Alright, eat something else. Should I order another dish?"

"No need, we won't be able to finish it all."

Josephine was amazed at how much Laura could eat.

They had eaten a lot at lunch, and even while shopping in the afternoon, Laura's mouth hadn't been idle.

So she wasn't really hungry for dinner.

Josephine didn't eat much, but Laura ate a lot.

Josephine was stunned.

"What's up with you today?" Josephine poured her a glass of water. "You've eaten so much."

"I'm just hungry, it means I have good digestion." Laura said, "You're full, right?"

"I'm done." Josephine put down her fork. "If you keep eating like this every day, you'll gain weight."

"Let me gain some." Laura said, "I've been looking in the mirror and I think I'm too skinny."

"True, gaining a few pounds wouldn't hurt." Josephine said, "My mom says I'm too skinny, too."

Laura glanced at her, "Exactly."

Josephine said, "If you like it here, we can come back often, but don't overeat."

She was worried Laura would feel uncomfortable from overeating.

After all, Laura didn't usually have such a big appetite.

On the way back, Laura fell asleep.

Josephine replied to some messages on her phone. When she looked up and saw Laura sleeping soundly, she couldn't help but take a photo and send it to Claudia.

Claudia quickly replied: [Why is Laura asleep?]

Josephine replied: [She's been eating and sleeping a lot lately, very comfortable.]

Claudia replied: [I'm the same way now, just eating and sleeping all the time.]

Josephine looked at the sleeping Laura and thought about her appetite today, pausing for a moment.

Could Laura be pregnant?

Her behavior today was so different from usual.

Though she had a sweet tooth, her appetite wasn't usually this big.

And she was usually full of energy, rarely sleeping in the car.

But she had slept the whole way there and now again on the way back.

It was very unusual.

But Josephine knew Laura didn't plan on having kids.

Besides, one unusual day didn't mean much.

So she didn't think much more about it.

She chatted with Claudia for a bit, then seeing Laura sleeping so soundly, she smiled and adjusted the pillow to make her more comfortable.

Laura didn't wake up until they reached Celestia Springs.

"You can really sleep." Josephine turned off her phone and asked, "Is your neck okay?"

They had taken a regular car this time. Initially, both sat in the back, but when Laura fell asleep, Josephine moved to the front passenger seat.

Even so, it wasn't very comfortable for Laura to lie in the back alone.

She moved her neck, "It's fine. Didn't you take a nap?"

Josephine said, "If I sleep too much, I won't be able to sleep tonight."

"We're almost there." Laura looked outside. "Are you hungry?"

Josephine looked at her in surprise, "You're not hungry again, are you?"

They had dinner at six, and it was only a little past eight now, just two hours later, and she had been sleeping the whole time.

Could her digestion really be that good?

"Not really hungry, just craving something sweet," Laura said.

Josephine sighed, "What do you want to eat?"

"How about some ice cream?"

"No way," Josephine said, "It's winter now, it's too cold for ice cream."

"You're starting to sound like Steven. We're not that old yet, eating ice cream in winter is no big deal."

"No ice cream." Josephine said, "If you want it, ask Steven when you get home. But not with me, I don't want you to feel unwell and have Steven blame me."

"He wouldn't blame you. I'll just have a small one."

Josephine couldn't argue with her, now she understood Steven's frustration.

Laura got out at a supermarket and came back with a small ice cream cone.

Josephine didn't eat any, and the driver had a sensitive stomach, so only Laura ate.

Josephine asked, "I remember you didn't like matcha flavor before."

Laura said, "I just felt like it today."

The car continued on, dropping Josephine off first.

Josephine said, "Steven has been so quiet today; he hasn't been bothering you much."

Usually, when Laura was with them, Steven's messages would come one after another.

Laura showed her phone to Josephine.

Josephine saw that Steven's messages were on Do Not Disturb mode.

Steven's messages wouldn't alert her.

Josephine said, "What if he has an emergency?"

Laura said, "If it's urgent, he'll call."
