Chapter 511 I am So Happy

Hearing this question, Gerald couldn't help but laugh.

His laughter was deep, with slight wrinkles at the corners of his eyes, which didn't make him look unattractive; instead, it added to his masculine charm.

Kathy felt a bit embarrassed and said, "What are you laughing at?"

Actually, she didn't want to ask this question, not because she didn't want to know the answer, but because she found it hard to ask.

But since Gerald gave her this opportunity, saying he would answer any question she had, she definitely had to ask.

Gerald smiled and said, "When do you mean? Since my school days?"

Kathy quickly said, "No, just... just these past few years."

Gerald shook his head, "No. Didn't Josephine tell you? I've been single for many years."

"What?" Kathy was a bit surprised.

Josephine had mentioned before that Gerald didn't have time for a relationship, but Kathy always thought that even if Gerald didn't have time for a relationship, with his good qualities, there must be women around him.

Gerald said, "My mom says I'm a workaholic, only focused on work. And it's true, so ever since Ulysses' mom left, I've been alone."

Now, Kathy was really shocked.

All these years, Gerald had been single?

Seeing her reaction, Gerald asked, "You don't believe me?"

Kathy quickly said, "No, no. It seems like your work really keeps you busy."

"I'll try to make more time for you in the future."

"Gerald?" As soon as Gerald finished speaking, someone called his name.

Since it was just the two of them having dinner, they didn't book a private room, but the restaurant had good privacy.

Each table was surrounded by large plants and screens.

Unless someone deliberately looked in, they wouldn't see the people inside.

Hearing someone call him, Gerald looked up, "It's you."

The person looked to be in her thirties, wearing the latest luxury brand outfit, looking exquisite and beautiful.

She sat down next to Gerald and said excitedly, "I thought I heard wrong, but it's really you."

Gerald frowned and moved aside. "Are you here for dinner?"

"Yes, I'm here with friends. Why don't we eat together?"

Gerald said, "It's not convenient. I'll invite you another day. Go find your friends."

"Another day? When will you be free? I've been asking you for so long, and you never agreed. How come you're free today?"

Elara West glanced at Kathy, her eyes filled with scrutiny, "Who is she? Your subordinate?"

Kathy saw the disdain and arrogance in the woman's eyes.

It was obvious that this woman was spoiled, with an air of superiority in her every move.

Gerald stood up, "This is my girlfriend. If you have nothing else, please leave and don't interrupt our meal."

Kathy was stunned, not expecting Gerald to openly declare their relationship in front of his friend.

Elara couldn't hold back after hearing this, "What? Girlfriend?"

Gerald said, "Yes, she's my girlfriend now, and in the future, we'll talk about marriage. So, please leave."

"I don't believe it!" Elara suddenly stood up, pointing at Kathy, "Who is she to be your girlfriend? Gerald, your girlfriend can only be me!"

She raised her hand to hit, but Gerald grabbed her arm. "Have you had enough? Elara, wake up!"

Elara's wrist hurt from his grip, and being a spoiled young lady, she had never been treated like this.

Her eyes immediately turned red, "Gerald! You can only be mine! Only I can be your wife!"

Gerald let go of her, then stood up, walked to Kathy's side, took her hand, and without saying a word, led her away.

Elara chased after them, "Stop right there!"

Gerald ignored her and left with Kathy.

When Kathy came to her senses, she found that Gerald was already in her car, and she was in the passenger seat.

"Can you drive?" She asked.

Gerald adjusted the seat and started the car. "You think I can't?"

Kathy hadn't thought about it because Gerald always had a driver.

She really didn't know Gerald could drive.

"Sorry."

As the car started and got on the road, Gerald said, "I'm sorry."

Kathy quickly shook her head, "It's nothing."

"I'll take you somewhere else to eat," Gerald said. "I didn't expect to run into her."

"She..." Kathy hesitated for a moment but didn't ask.

Gerald explained, "She's the daughter of a family friend, divorced, and has been confessing to me and wanting to marry me for years."

Kathy had already figured that out.

Gerald continued, "But I've never given her any promises and usually keep my distance from her, but she always... Anyway, I have nothing to do with her."

"I believe you," Kathy said.

"But still, I'm sorry. Our first date was ruined." Gerald couldn't help but hold her hand, "Kathy."

Kathy was stunned, not expecting Gerald to call her so gently.

"I usually have little time and don't know how to please girls. Josephine gave me a lot of advice for our date. I might not say sweet words or do romantic things." He said, stopping the car by the roadside.

He looked at Kathy, "It was too rushed when we confirmed our relationship at the hospital."

He took out a prepared ring from his pocket and opened it for her to see, "So, Kathy, I'm formally asking you now, will you be my girlfriend?"

Kathy was stunned.

That day at the hospital, she didn't expect Gerald to suddenly make such a request.

It wasn't really a request, as she had been pursuing Gerald.

She didn't expect Gerald to agree.

Even so, Kathy was already very satisfied.

Being close to Gerald, she was already content.

But who knew Gerald could be so good?

"Josephine said girls value a sense of ceremony," Gerald said awkwardly, "I don't know how to do it, I just saw it on TV before. Is it too old-fashioned? Well, I am quite old."

"No!" Kathy quickly said, "I, I do."

Gerald looked at her, "Kathy, I really want to have a relationship with you with the intention of marriage. During our relationship, if I do anything wrong, I hope you will criticize and correct me."

Kathy's eyes turned red, "No, you're great, really, especially great."

"Don't cry." Gerald panicked when he saw her tears, "Why are you crying? Did I say something wrong?"

"No." Kathy sniffed, "I'm just so happy."

"Don't cry." Gerald wiped her tears. "Can I put the ring on you?"
