Chapter 128 Get on Your Knees and Beg Me!
Stuart's gaze was still icy as he looked at her.
"What do you think?" he asked.
She already knew.
Josephine felt a heavy weight on her heart, completely exposed and humiliated.
"Like me?" Stuart moved closer, brushing his hand against her cheek. "You hid it well. If I hadn't seen the diary, I'd never have known."
"Stuart," Josephine's voice trembled. "Please stop."
He leaned in. "Why stop? How much do you like me? How long?"
His words cut deep. They weren't in love; she had a secret crush, and he loved someone else. When they were about to divorce, he discovered her feelings for him, which was a great humiliation for her.
His tone was mocking. Her sincere, deep feelings now felt like a cruel joke.
To him, her feelings were insignificant. That's why she never told him. His attitude made her feel publicly shamed.
"No wonder you always did what I asked," Stuart whispered in her ear. "You were so passionate in bed."
His breath felt invasive, his words insulting.
Josephine struggled to stay standing, her body trembling.
Stuart's words felt like slaps, but he felt relieved.
When he found the diary, he hesitated. It was private, but once he started reading, he couldn't stop. He was shocked to learn she liked him.
The diary was three years old, meaning she liked him when they first married. But they had always been at odds.
Stuart felt a mix of shock, surprise, and unexpected joy. He didn't realize this joy came from his own changing feelings.
He saw it as a way to stop the divorce, not understanding his true emotions. To Josephine, his joy looked like disdain.
He grabbed her chin, wondering this cold, proud woman who always made him angry actually liked him. Stuart's Adam's apple bobbed. Knowing this made him feel in control again. He loved manipulating Josephine.
He rubbed his thumb against her smooth skin. "So, divorce isn't your plan? You can't bear to leave me, right?"
Josephine suddenly pushed him away.
Stuart wasn't mad. "Am I wrong? Your diary is full of love for me. I couldn't tell at all."
"Stuart!" Josephine gritted her teeth. "That was a long time ago. It was just an infatuation with your looks. I only liked your appearance."
She had no other way out. After her initial panic, this was her only defense.
"We've been married over three years. My feelings faded. You used me to satisfy your desires, and I did the same. We're not kids. Don't take it so seriously."
Her denial made Stuart furious. Her feelings seemed cheap and shallow. He felt deceived and enraged.
"Really? The diary was full of genuine feelings. Now you're denying it. When did you start liking me? When you opposed me? When you cursed me, were you fantasizing about me? Thinking about how I'd pin you down, bully you, possess you?"
"Stuart!" Josephine shouted.
"Am I right? You were already so wanton. Divorce? Who can satisfy you after the divorce? Not many men like me."
Josephine felt deeply humiliated. She couldn't believe his venomous words.
"Josephine, admit your mistake, and I might give you a chance." Stuart grabbed her chin. "If you insist on divorce, you'll regret it!"
"I won't regret it!" Josephine's eyes widened. "I stopped liking you long ago. Now, you only disgust me!"
"Disgusted?" Stuart's eyes blazed. "You think you're clean? William is a businessman; he only pursues profit. What did you offer him? Did you sleep with him? You're the disgusting one!"
Josephine slapped Stuart. The room fell silent.
Stuart licked the inside of his cheek where she slapped him. He sneered. "You want a divorce? Fine. Let's see how well you live without me, without the Haustia family!"
Josephine said, "The divorce agreement."
"Tomorrow morning, my lawyer will bring the agreement and handle the procedures with you. You want a divorce? Fine. I'll wait for the moment you come begging. By then, even if you kneel and beg, I won't spare you a glance!"
