Chapter 472 The Wedding

When she finished speaking, the other two women glared at her.

Laura quickly said, "Of course, your situation is different from mine. You both can be good mothers, but I don't have that confidence."

Claudia said, "How could that be? Not everyone is born knowing how to be a mother; it's something you learn."

Josephine said, "I was clueless when I was pregnant, and now look at Jeffery, he's grown up just fine. Besides, when you have a baby, it's just nine months of carrying it, and once it's born, you won't have to worry about it."

"Who says that?" Laura said, "How could you not worry?"

"You don't have to worry," Josephine said, "It's different for you; you have Steven. He'll definitely take care of everything."

Laura said, "Stop, stop! Don't say anymore!"

Claudia said, "We didn't want to say anything; you're the one who brought it up."

Laura said, "Steven wants a daughter and thinks it would be nice if she were like me. But if I were to have a child, I'd prefer a son, like him, as it would be less worrisome."

Josephine said, "So you know you're not easy to deal with."

"No choice," Laura flipped her hair, "Beautiful women are always hard to handle."

The women laughed uncontrollably.

After a while, Josephine said seriously, "If you really feel guilty, then have a baby for him. It's just nine months of suffering, and after that, there are so many ways to get back in shape. Besides, no matter how you look, you'll always be Steven's muse."

"What do you know," Laura said, "Men are all the same; they always like young and beautiful girls."

Josephine asked, "You don't have confidence in your Mr. Bailey? If you doubt anyone, it shouldn't be him. Let me tell you, there are younger and prettier girls around him, but has he ever looked at them?"

Recently, Steven acquired an entertainment company filled with glamorous artists, including teenage models and stunning celebrities. But as the CEO, Steven rarely managed the company, leaving it to others.

At a mid-year party, many people were surprised to learn that he was the owner of the entertainment company when he made an appearance and was immediately surrounded by people offering him drinks. This was the moment they realized he was the influential figure behind the scenes.

In today's society, where money held significant power and people would go to great lengths to acquire it, both women and men tried to get close to Steven. The entire scenario was quite absurd.Laura rolled her eyes, "That's because he's old. Taking care of me alone is exhausting enough; how could he have the energy to attract other women?"

Little did she know, Steven, who had come to pick her up, overheard this.

That night, Steven grabbed her waist and thrust, "I'm old? Exhausted?"

Laura was dizzy from the impact.

Who knew Steven was so competitive?

A man's pride was not to be underestimated, even as they age.

She had to wrap her arms around his neck, gasping as she coaxed him, "You're not old, full of energy."

Steven was still not satisfied. He insisted on making love to Laura until she was convinced.

Time flew by, and two days before the wedding, Jair finally finished his work. He rushed to Celestia Springs and, upon seeing Claudia, his eyes reddened.

In the ten days they hadn't seen each other, Claudia had visibly lost at least five or six pounds.

Claudia didn't want to lose weight, but her early pregnancy symptoms were severe, making her not want to eat, and she would vomit whatever she did eat. It was no wonder she lost weight.

However, there was no need for bed rest anymore. After another check-up at the hospital, everything was normal.

"Why have you lost so much weight?" Jair held her in his arms, feeling her waist had become even slimmer. It seemed he could hold her with one hand.

Claudia said, "The weather is hot, and I don't feel like eating."

Claudia didn't want him to worry too much, so she only shared good news over the phone. So Jair had no idea what she had been going through.

Now that he was back, he realized she could barely eat anything. She was barely managing to eat some light porridge and fruit each day.

Even a normal person would lose weight eating like that, let alone someone pregnant.

Jair was extremely worried, even considering canceling the wedding. But Claudia would never agree to that. It wasn't just about the two of them.

However, with Jair back, Claudia's mood improved, and perhaps due to psychological factors, she managed to eat a bit without vomiting.

Seeing this, Jair was still worried, constantly fearing she might faint from exhaustion during the wedding.

Canceling was out of the question, so Jair, Stuart, and Steven discussed with the planners to reduce Claudia's participation in the wedding activities. This made Jair feel a bit more at ease.

Since returning from the military base, Jair hardly left Claudia's side, except when she went to the bathroom.

Jair's parents also came over. Initially, Claudia had declined their offer to help, but they were still worried.

Seeing Claudia unable to eat and vomiting, they were anxious too.

Fortunately, the day before the wedding, Claudia was in good spirits.

Josephine called to check on her.Claudia said, "I'm fine. Our wedding isn't that complicated anyway."

Indeed, the three couples had agreed to keep everything simple.

The weather was perfect on the wedding day, with a clear blue sky and fluffy white clouds. The crisp autumn air was refreshing.

Everyone attending the wedding was a prominent figure in Hustalia or Celestia Springs.

Moreover, attending the wedding of three influential figures was a great honor for the guests.

Stuart was already significant figures. Not to mention his bride was from The Clarence Family.

Though the guest list was small, each guest was of great importance.

The venue was adorned with fresh flowers flown in from abroad, each petal still glistening with dew.

From the large square tables to the smallest spoon, every item at the wedding exuded understated luxury.

The guests, all well-versed in high society, were still awed by the scene. But considering it was a wedding organized by several prominent families, no expense was spared.

The wedding proceeded smoothly. The three couples stood on stage, doing nothing but still captivating everyone's attention.

Especially the three brides in their stunning wedding dresses, looking like fairies, making it hard for anyone to look away.

Jair didn't participate in the later events; he stayed in the back room with Claudia, letting her rest on a bed while he fed her juice.

Claudia sighed.

Jair quickly asked, "What's wrong?"
