Chapter 97 Look at Yourself
Robin hung up after speaking, leaving Doris still in a state of shock.
Had Robin gone mad?
Why would he say something like that?
He had always been helping Doris.
Why did he suddenly change?
Doris wasn’t stupid; on the contrary, she was very cunning.
She managed to get into Stuart’s company and became a secretary. Even being a small employee at Stuart’s company was enough to make others envious.
Because the Haustia Group had excellent benefits, high bonuses, and a great cafeteria.
With Doris’s education and experience, it wasn’t easy to get in.
She had schemed to frame another competitor to get the position.
Even her first meeting with Stuart was part of her plan.
She had heard that Mr. Haustia was tall and handsome. Of course, she had dreams of marrying into a wealthy family, but Stuart seemed too far out of reach. Even in her dreams, she didn’t dare to dream too big.
However, even so, she was determined to get close to Stuart.
Who knew, when Stuart saw her, he was stunned.
After that, he started treating her well.
At first, Doris thought she was dreaming. Later, she believed it was her beauty, kindness, and excellence that attracted Stuart.
Thinking this way, she eventually convinced herself.
Actually, Doris had guessed from Josephine’s words why Stuart treated her so well.
However, she didn’t expect Robin to say it outright and so harshly!
He had been so eager to help, trying to get her closer to Stuart.
Why did he suddenly change his attitude?
She thought about it and couldn’t figure out what she had done to anger Robin recently.
She didn’t say anything wrong during the call.
Wait!
She thought about what she had just said.
Everything seemed fine, except after she mentioned Robin and Josephine’s relationship, Robin’s attitude changed.
But she wasn’t wrong!
Robin did dislike Josephine; otherwise, why would he always persuade Stuart to divorce Josephine?
But what if she was wrong?
Robin didn’t dislike Josephine.
Then why did he always persuade Stuart to divorce and speak ill of Josephine?
Doris couldn’t find an answer.
Whether she figured it out or not, Robin didn’t care about her feelings.
After scolding her, Robin felt much better.
Dealing with Doris was disgusting to him.
He couldn’t understand what Stuart saw in her.
She wasn’t even worth a finger of Josephine.
Robin looked up and saw the person he was thinking about.
Without thinking, he walked straight towards Josephine.
"Josephine!" he called out.
Josephine was shopping with Laura and didn’t expect to run into Robin.
"Well, look who it is!" Laura said, "It’s Mr. Bailey from the Bailey family!"
Robin, who had only eyes for Josephine, now noticed Laura was also there.
"You’re back," Robin said, glancing at her, "What, couldn’t make it abroad?"
Laura didn’t respond, waiting to see what else he would say.
Josephine didn’t want to deal with him. She found his sarcastic tone annoying and pulled Laura to leave.
"Don’t go," Robin said, "Hustalia isn’t small. Running into each other must be fate. How about a meal together?"
"No,‘ Josephine said, “We have things to do.”
Robin asked, "What could be more important than having a meal with me?"
"That’s hilarious," Laura said, "Where do you get the nerve to say that? No mirror at home? There’s always a restroom in the mall."
"What do you mean?" Robin asked.
He regretted it immediately.
Laura had a sharp tongue, and he could never win an argument with her.
Yet he never learned his lesson.
Sure enough, Laura said, "There's a restroom so you can take a piss and see yourself. Look at yourself, and yet you have the nerve to ask Josephine to eat with you!"
Robin was almost furious.
See, Laura’s words were indeed harsh!
Robin angrily said, "Did you eat shit without wiping your mouth? Talking so nasty!"
Laura replied, "Yeah, seeing a big piece of shit like you gets me excited!"
Robin was about to explode.
Josephine struggled to hold back her laughter.
She tugged at Laura. She insisted, "Little Laura, let’s go!"
Little Laura was Laura's nickname.
But after growing up, Laura didn’t allow anyone to call her that.
Only Josephine had that privilege.
Laura raised her chin proudly, and said, "If you dare bully my Josephine again, I’ll kill you!"
Saying that, she flipped her hair and linked arms with Josephine to leave.
Robin gritted his teeth. He insinuated, "Josephine, are you sure you don’t want to have a meal with me? Don’t you want to know why Stuart went abroad?"
Josephine paused.
Robin confidently said, "I know who he went to see and why."
Laura turned back. She sneered, “How do you know so clearly? Oh, right, you have a dog’s nose, very sensitive.”
In just a few minutes, Laura had insulted him thoroughly.
Robin took a deep breath, trying to ignore Laura, and looked at Josephine. "Don’t you want to know?"
Josephine shook her head. And replied, "No."
"Let’s go," Laura said as she pulled Josephine.
Robin suddenly shouted, "She caught a cold, and Stuart flew over immediately. Josephine, you mean nothing to him!"
Josephine lowered her eyes.
Laura knew Josephine’s feelings for Stuart.
Even though she said she wanted a divorce, those feelings weren’t easy to let go of.
Hearing Robin’s words must have made her heartbroken, causing immense pain.
Laura was immediately furious. She scolded, "Robin, you really can’t say anything good! Always meddling in others’ business; are you so nosy that you’d even taste the shit from a passing manure truck?"
"You crazy woman, I won’t stoop to your level," Robin’s face was dark. He said angrily, "With a crazy woman like you, I wonder which man would dare marry you!"
"Don’t worry about it." Laura flipped her hair. She taunted, "I heard your uncle isn’t married yet? Maybe I'll marry him someday!"
"Pah!" Robin was livid. He retorted, "Dream on! You think you can marry my uncle? Look in the mirror! My uncle wouldn’t even look at you!"
Laura raised an eyebrow and smiled. She shot back, "The mirror at my house was bought by your uncle! Drives you mad, doesn’t it?"
Robin was indeed furious.
Josephine, fearing they might start fighting, quickly pulled Laura away.
As they walked, Josephine thought about what Laura had just said and Robin’s furious expression; she couldn’t help but laugh.
Seeing her laugh, Laura felt relieved.
Stuart had hurt Josephine time again; Laura was really afraid Josephine would get too deeply involved and couldn’t get out.
Now it seemed, there was still hope.
