Chapter 560 How Can I Not Be Sad
Josephine and Stuart were preparing to walk back to the Haustia Mansion.
After all, it wasn't far.
Jeffery stayed at the Clarence Mansion to sleep.
He wanted to sleep with Ulysses, so Josephine let him be.
Before they got home, Josephine received a call from Laura.
She quickly answered, "Laura?"
Laura said, "You're not home?"
"I'm almost home," Josephine said, puzzled. "How do you know I'm not home?"
"Because I'm at your house."
"You're at my house?"
Why would Laura come to her house so late, especially with her big belly?
Josephine and Stuart exchanged a glance and hurried their steps.
When they got home, Andrew was already resting.
Laura came often, so the servants let her in directly.
She was sitting on the sofa, eating fruit, relaxed and at ease as if it were her own home.
Seeing her, Josephine asked, "Did you come by yourself? Why did you come at this time? How did you get here?"
"You have so many questions," Laura said. "Which one should I answer first?"
"Where's Steven?" Stuart asked.
Laura gave a thumbs up, "I have to say, Mr. Haustia, your question is the sharpest and most crucial."
Josephine glanced at Stuart, "You go upstairs first."
Laura had stayed at the Clarence Mansion before and had her own room.
Josephine was worried she might be uncomfortable on the sofa, so she took her to the room, watched her lie down on the bed, and then asked, "What's going on?"
Laura said, "We had a fight, what else?"
Josephine was both amused and exasperated, "You're pregnant, with such a big belly, and you're still fighting? Besides, how could Steven possibly fight with you?"
"Why not?" Laura said. "Don't think too highly of him. As long as they're men, none of them are good. Of course, your Stuart is an exception."
Josephine didn't respond to that.
She only asked, "Does Steven know you're here?"
"No," Laura said proudly. "When I left, he was on the phone, and I sneaked out."
"You really are..." Josephine was speechless. "You're pregnant now, don't you have any sense of responsibility?"
Meanwhile, Stuart had just gone upstairs when he received a call from Steven. "Stuart."
Hearing the urgency in Steven's voice, Stuart quickly said, "Don't worry, Laura is at my house."
Steven immediately breathed a sigh of relief, "It scared me. I made an international call, and when I came out, I couldn't find her."
"What happened between you two?" Stuart asked. "Did you have a fight?"
"No," Steven said. "I'll come over right away."
Stuart didn't say much.
Laura was pregnant now, so Steven definitely wouldn't be at ease.
Besides, even if Laura wasn't pregnant, given how much Steven loved her, he would still come over.
Josephine was still downstairs chatting with Laura.
Laura said, "He went to give a lecture at the school, you know? When he came back, he added a girl's Facebook."
Josephine was indeed a bit surprised.
Steven had always been uninterested in women, except for Laura.
Most of the staff around him were men.
He seemed to be only interested in Laura.
And now he added a female student's Facebook?
"Looks like he thinks I'm old, ugly, and have a big belly," Laura said. "Fine, I'll make room for her."
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Josephine said. "Didn't you ask him why he added her?"
"Do I need to ask?"
Josephine smiled, "You, always jumping to conclusions without asking."
"He's a middle-aged, greasy man adding a young girl's Facebook. What good intentions could he have?" Laura added.
"How do you know he added her Facebook? If he really had bad intentions, would he let you find out?"
"Because the girl sent him a message, and I saw it."
"It was just a little girl; you must overthink."
"Josephine, are you pretending not to know? Nowadays, young people play with all sorts of tricks."
"I don't know about others, but Steven definitely wouldn't do that."
"I told you, don't have any illusions about men."
"You," Josephine sighed. "You should rest. Have you taken a bath?"
"I have," Laura said. "What are you going to do? Call Steven to inform him? I'm telling you, you don't need to call; your husband must have already called."
Josephine said, "Then I'll go out and ask."
"It won't help if he comes. I'll stay at your house for a few days. If he comes, don't let him into my room."
"You won't even give him a chance to explain?"
"The moment he added her Facebook, he was wrong. I didn't say I wouldn't forgive him, but at least, he made a mistake, he should be punished, right?"
Josephine said, "Alright, alright, I understand."
Laura was pregnant, so she had to be coaxed.
After chatting with Laura for a while, Josephine came out of the room and saw Stuart standing in the foyer.
"What's wrong?" Josephine asked.
"Steven is on his way," Stuart said. "I'm going to open the door for him."
"So soon?"
"Knowing his wife ran away, how could he not be anxious?"
As they were speaking, there was a knock on the door.
Stuart quickly opened the door, and sure enough, it was Steven outside.
As soon as he came in, he asked, "Where is she?"
Josephine said, "In the room. But she said not to let you find her."
Steven said, "As long as she's okay. I was scared when I couldn't find her after my call."
"Laura is pregnant now, she knows what she's doing."
Although Steven was indeed very good to Laura, hearing that he added a female student's Facebook, Josephine felt a bit uncomfortable.
Her tone inevitably carried a bit of dissatisfaction.
Steven said, "I still need to see her, otherwise I won't be at ease."
Stuart quickly said, "Go ahead, you know which room it is."
Watching Steven go, he pulled Josephine away, "Let's not get involved in their matters."
Back in the room, Josephine said, "Do you know, Steven added a female student's Facebook account at the school event?"
Stuart was taken aback. "Why did he add her?"
"What do you think? Young female students are youthful and beautiful, which man wouldn't like that?"
"I don't like it," Stuart said. "Besides, Steven isn't that kind of person."
"You men are all very consistent, consistently liking young and beautiful girls," Josephine said. "I understand."
Stuart was both amused and exasperated, "What do you understand? Anyway, I think there's definitely more to this. Didn't Laura ask him?"
"What's there to ask? Adding her was already wrong."
"Yes, it was wrong, he made a mistake," Stuart said. "Let them handle it themselves, we won't interfere."
"Do you think Laura is making a big deal out of nothing?"
"No."
"You clearly think so," Josephine said. "Pregnant women are naturally sensitive, and Steven did such a thing; how could Laura not be upset?"
