Chapter 32 Because You're Seeing Someone Else
After blacklisting Robin, Josephine felt a sense of relief.
Liam asked her, "Are you just going to let Doris take care of Stuart in the hospital?"
Josephine replied, "What else can I do? Would my opposition be effective?"
"So, have you made up your mind?" Josephine knew exactly what he was referring to.
Seeing Josephine's silence, Liam continued, "Or are you worried about Todd and the others opposing it?"
They would do more than just oppose her. Josephine could imagine Todd’s reaction if she mentioned divorce.
In Todd's mind, Josephine was far less important than his business, despite his frequent claims that he would leave his entire estate to their only daughter in the future.
Liam understood the situation with the Kalmien family. He found it quite strange. To be honest, the Kalmien family only had Josephine as their daughter, so Todd and Esther should have cherished her.
However, the reality was the opposite. Josephine was raised by her grandparents from a young age.
After her grandparents passed away, she became independent and no longer needed to be cared for.
Later, Josephine went to boarding school.
Up until now, her relationship with her parents was not that great.
"Liam, please stop at the nearby square. I want to take a walk." Liam knew she was feeling down, so he teased, "You want to take a walk? Can you walk now?"
Despite Liam's words, he still turned the car into the parking lot. He took out a wheelchair and carefully helped Josephine out. Liam pushed Josephine around the square, not saying much.
Josephine didn't want to go back to the cold, empty house alone. There were many people in the square, couples, parents with children, and even elderly people dancing. It exuded a strong sense of joy.
Josephine saw a couple on a nearby bench, with the girl acting coquettish, asking the man to sing for her.
The man's tall, muscular, and somewhat rugged appearance makes him seem like a villain when he stands there.
But when he looked at the girl, his eyes were full of affection. "I'll sing for you when we get home, okay?"
The girl, seemingly drunk, replied, "No, sing here."
The man hesitated for a moment, but she was about to cry. "You don't love me anymore."
The man touched her hair and said with a smile, "Okay, I'll sing for you." Liam noticed that the wheelchair wasn't moving. When he looked down that Josephine had turned it off. He followed Josephine's gaze, bent down, and asked softly, "Do you want to hear it too?"
Josephine didn't say anything. It wasn't until the man was about to finish the song that she said, "Let's go, I want to go home."
After getting in the car, Liam noticed that Josephine was even more upset. "What's wrong? Are you envious of them when you see how much they love each other?"
Josephine said, "In this world, there will definitely be two people who love each other deeply, but I just haven't met the man who loves me deeply."
"That's true, but you keep loving a terrible man, wasting your youth," Liam said. "From now on, you must open your eyes. There are many excellent men in the world!"
Perhaps only Liam would say that Stuart was a terrible man.
Josephine smiled and said, "Yes, there are also many virtuous women in the world, so you should also do your best."
Liam glanced at her, smiled, and said no more.
In the hospital, Robin also received the news, so he rushed over. As soon as he arrived, he asked, "Where's Josephine? Does she know you had an accident?"
Doris had gone out to buy something, so only Stuart was in the ward.
Stuart said, "Don't mention her. I have a headache."
"What's wrong?" Robin finally remembered and asked, "Why do you have an accident? Is it serious?"
"I'm fine." Stuart didn't want to talk about it. "I tell you that you don't need to come."
" You were in a car accident. How could I not come to see you?" Robin asked again.
"Does Josephine know about it? Has she come to see you?"
"Yes, " Stuart's voice was cold.
"I wish she hadn't. She's been so sharp-tongued lately, and it's been getting on my nerves."
Robin added, "Josephine seems different now. She even blocked me when I tried to call her."
Stuart looked at him. "Why do you call her?"
Robin retorted, "Are you missing the point? I told you she blocked me. How dare she?"
Stuart replied, "Josephine even dared to insult me, so it's normal for her to block you."
Robin was even more surprised. "She insults you? Why? Because you have a mistress?"
Stuart looked behind Robin. At the door, Doris was standing there.
Robin suddenly realized what he had said and felt instantly embarrassed. He quickly said, "Doris, I don't mean to imply that you're a mistress."
Doris couldn't hold back her tears. She walked to the bed and looked at Stuart with innocent eyes. Robin continued, "Doris, don't be upset. Stuart will definitely divorce Josephine, and you'll be his wife, right, Stuart?" He looked at Stuart.
Doris also looked at Stuart with pressing her lips pressed.
Stuart said to Robin, "Doris is kind and won't hold it against you. Do you have anything else to say? If not, you can leave."
He didn't respond to Robin's mention of divorce and his wife.
Before leaving, Robin said, "Tell Josephine to unblock me."
In fact, Stuart was also puzzled as to why Josephine suddenly blocked Robin's calls.
But regardless, Robin was Stuart's friend, and they had grown up together. If Josephine treated Robin like this, Stuart would feel embarrassed.
Stuart had a concussion and was diagnosed with a mild one, but he didn't show any reaction. For safety reasons, he still needed to stay in the ward overnight. He needed to be observed for the whole night, so he could only be discharged the next day.
In the evening, Stuart sent Doris back and then called Josephine.
After Josephine answered the call, he immediately asked, "Do you block Robin's calls?"
Josephine chuckled softly, "Does he complain to you?"
Her smile carried surprise and mockery, and Stuart couldn't hear any goodwill in it.
Stuart didn't know why he was momentarily captivated by Josephine's smile. But the feeling was disappearing immediately before Stuart could grasp it.
All that remained in Stuart's heart was a growing sense of losing control. Compared to before, Josephine was becoming more and more incomprehensible to him.
Now that Josephine was slipping out of Stuart's control, he said coldly, "Josephine, are you a three-year-old? Why are you being so childish and blocking Robin's calls?"
Josephine replied, "Yes, I am childish."
She smiled. Before Stuart could say anything, she suddenly asked, "Stuart, can you sing 'Fly Fly Butterfly'?"
Stuart was taken aback. "What?"
Josephine leaned against the headboard and closed her eyes. "Stuart, I'm tired. I feel like I can't go on with some things."
