Chapter 211 I Have Nothing to Do with Her Anymore!

After Stuart left, the room went silent for a few seconds.

Then, Laura smashed her cup. "Bastard! He doesn't feel sorry at all!"

Josephine laughed. "Isn't this great? We're done with him."

Claudia added, "Yeah, now Josephine's really free."

Josephine said, "If I'd known it would be like this, I'd have kicked him out sooner."

Laura asked, "So you just made up a person?"

Josephine interrupted, "I didn't make it up. There really is someone."

Laura was shocked. "You really cheated? Wait, you two are divorced. Whatever you do doesn't matter to him anymore!"

Josephine smiled but then Laura's phone rang.

She answered, and whatever was said made her face sour.

After hanging up, she kicked the two men out. "Alright, everyone, leave!"

Claudia, munching on fruit, said, "I can't enjoy this with them here."

Laura replied, "You'll get used to it. Josephine, do you really have someone you like abroad?"

Josephine said, "No, but we talked about finding a father for my child. I thought of someone suitable. I might need his help; otherwise, Stuart might cause trouble."

"Right, don't let him know," Laura said. "But he seemed to have given up."

"That's good," Josephine said, satisfied. "It's best if we never see each other again."

The next day, Josephine had dinner with some leaders from the medical research institute.

They were all older, the youngest in their fifties.

They talked about medical stuff and were interested in Josephine's research.

Halfway through, two more people arrived, and Josephine recognized one of them—Stuart's friend, Vincent.

Vincent was surprised to see Josephine.

He had recently invested in new projects, including some in the medical field, mainly because of a friend's recommendation. The main investor was the guy next to him.

This guy, Rex Armstrong, was a well-known young master from a wealthy family in Celestia Springs. His family had significant achievements.

He was the youngest son and went into business instead of politics, doing very well over the years.

Now, not even forty, he had everything going for him, except his wife had died a few years ago, and he was still single.

At his age, he was in his prime. With a good family background and his capabilities, many young unmarried ladies were interested in him.

But he wasn't interested in any of them. Today, however, he took a liking to Josephine.

Josephine was undoubtedly beautiful, but he had seen many beautiful women. There was something different about her charm that caught his eye.

As the main investor, the research institute leaders, who were both academics and businessmen, had a good relationship with him.

They invited him over to see how much he could invest in Josephine's project.

Rex felt something different the moment he saw Josephine.

Even after he sat down, his gaze didn't waver much.

With his strong family background and personal skills, Rex held a high status in Celestia Springs.

At his age, he usually kept his desires and ambitions in check.

But seeing Josephine made him feel young again, his heart racing.

The institute leaders introduced them, and Josephine quickly dove into discussing her project.

She spoke clearly and confidently, with a radiance that set her apart.

Rex's gaze hardly left her. He asked a few questions, casual but crucial.

Josephine was well-prepared and answered to his satisfaction.

Rex wasn't one to judge by looks alone. Josephine's beauty and capability made him like her even more.

He directly asked, "Dr. Kalmien, are you single?"

Vincent couldn't stay calm hearing this.

He found an excuse to leave and immediately called Stuart. "Stuart! Someone's interested in Josephine!"

Stuart's face was stern, his gaze cold. "Does it matter to me?"

He hung up right after.

Vincent stared at his phone, bewildered. 'Wasn't he just following her around at the bar? Why the sudden change?'

Vincent had no choice but to put his phone away and return to the room.

The institute leaders had already noticed Rex's interest in Josephine.

When Vincent returned, one of the leaders was praising Josephine.

A few minutes later, Vincent's phone rang again. Seeing it was Stuart, he quickly stepped out to answer.

Stuart's voice was icy. "Where are you?"

Even though Vincent was close to him, he didn't dare joke around. "I'm in Celestia Springs."

He explained the situation to Stuart.

"Rex?" Stuart sounded surprised. "He is so old."

Vincent said, "He's not even forty yet and looks young. Besides, many girls like his type."

Thinking of Rex, Stuart was reminded of Steven. The two were close and had similar ways of doing things.

His face darkened further. "How is Josephine reacting?"

Vincent replied, "They seem to be getting along well. Stuart, what's the deal between you and her now?"

Stuart shouted, "I have nothing to do with her anymore!"

Vincent was taken aback.

Stuart gritted his teeth. "How much have you invested in this project?"

Vincent didn't expect the sudden change in topic. "My family wants to build connections with the Armstrong family, so I invested five million dollars. Rex is the main investor."

Stuart asked, "Do they need more investors?"

Vincent realized what was happening. "Yes, they wouldn't mind more money. But didn't you say you have nothing to do with Josephine? Why are you still..."

"Send me the location," Stuart said coldly, "Don't ask questions you shouldn't!"

Vincent clicked his tongue. "Got it."

He thought Stuart was just being stubborn.

Clearly worried, but still putting on a tough front.

He sent the location and returned to the room, where Rex was already sitting next to Josephine, asking her about elderly health care, mentioning that his elders were almost ninety years old.

Josephine subtly distanced herself from him.

She thought, 'Someone like Rex, with highly respected elders, will have countless medical professionals around him. He doesn't need to ask me about this.'

Josephine understood everything, her eyes and actions showing her detachment.
