Chapter 458 Not Having My Wife at Home

Stuart noticed that Nicole's attitude seemed normal and finally breathed a sigh of relief. What he didn't know was that while he was in the restroom at the airport, Josephine had already called Nicole to discuss the situation.

Josephine had been worried that if she didn't inform Nicole beforehand, it might stir up emotions again.

Nicole had simply said, "As long as you're happy, I support you. No matter what, I'll always be your backing and support."

After dinner, Josephine indeed went back to The Clarence Family.

On the way home, Andrew said, "Not bad, at least there's some progress."

Stuart said, "Grandpa, is this what you call not bad?"

"What else? Do you want me to praise you? You should see what kind of family The Clarence Family is, and Josephine is so good. At least they didn't say you were reaching for the stars!"

"Yes, yes, I was aiming too high," Stuart said. "Isn't it because..." As he spoke, he glanced at his phone, and upon seeing the message from his subordinate, he froze in shock.

Andrew asked him, "Because what?"

Stuart lowered his eyes, turned off his phone, then looked up, a flash of determination in his eyes. "Nothing, I will definitely take good care of her and treat her well for a lifetime."

"If you do that, I can die in peace."

Stuart looked at him disapprovingly, "Grandpa, what kind of talk is that? If Josephine heard it, how sad would she be? You still need to watch Jeffery grow up."

"Right, for Jeffery, I need to live a few more years!"

Stuart realized that the way Andrew had treated him during his childhood was nothing compared to how he treated Jeffery now. Though he and Andrew came from different generations and had once shared a bond, Andrew's affection for Jeffery was genuine and indulgent. Reflecting on it, Stuart felt that the treatment he had received back then was pitiful in comparison.

However, Andrew was indeed depressed because of his divorce from Josephine. Now that he and Josephine were back together, and with Jeffery, Andrew's state was much better than before.

The last time Andrew had a full-body checkup, the results were good.

Josephine saw it and praised Stuart for taking good care of Andrew back home.

Actually, it was because Andrew was in a good mood. When one was in a good mood, he eat well, and naturally, his body was strong.

It was actually thanks to Josephine and Jeffery. Stuart didn't dare to take credit for it.

Now that Josephine was back and staying with the Clarence family, Stuart's days became difficult once again. When she was abroad, he could console himself with the thought that she was far away and he could only think about her.

But now, with Josephine so close yet still unable to meet, it was even harder for him. He lay in bed, unable to sleep, and sent a message to Josephine, but she didn't reply.

Thinking she might be tired and already resting, Stuart didn't send another message.

It wasn't until the next morning, after he came back from exercising, that he saw Josephine's reply.

She said she slept last night, and slept with Jeffery.

Stuart was so jealous his teeth hurt.

He replied: [Why are you sleeping with him again?]

He hadn't slept with her, but Jeffery got to sleep with her again!

Josephine: [I just got back, he missed me, so I kept him company.]

Stuart: [I miss you too. What should I do?]

Josephine: [I just got back, let me stay for a couple of days, then I'll talk to mom and come see you.]

Stuart replied: [Stay for a couple of days? Then I have to wait for several days?]

Josephine: [Can't wait?]

Stuart gritted his teeth as he typed: [I can wait. I've waited for so many years; a few more days won't make a difference." He then sent a pitiful emoji.]

Josephine couldn't help but smile.

After breakfast, Gerald went to work, Ulysses and Jeffery went to school. Josephine accompanied Nicole for a walk in the yard.

She had been away for a few months, and a lot had happened at home. The first big event was that Ulysses applied for university.

Ulysses had always excelled academically and was well-regarded by his teachers. Surprisingly, due to his habit of working during winter and summer vacations, they assumed he came from a poor family and inquired if he needed financial assistance, worried that financial hardships might impact his studies.

And Ulysses lived up to expectations and got into his ideal university.

The second big event was that Josephine's second brother, Bodhi Clarence, had returned recently.

Unfortunately, Josephine was busy in the lab at that time. So they missed each other again.

But when they talked on the phone, they agreed to meet up during the New Year.

Nicole said, "It looks like Bodhi might come back for your wedding."

After all, it was a once-in-a-lifetime event, and Bodhi would take leave to come back.

As they walked and talked, Josephine said, "Mom, I'll go stay at the Haustia Family tonight."

"You've only stayed home for one night and you can't wait?" Nicole teased her, "You miss him, don't you miss me?"

"Of course I do." Josephine hugged her arm and acted coquettishly, "When I was abroad, I missed you the most."

"You're just sweet-talking me." Nicole laughed, "I won't be the bad guy, if you want to go tonight, go ahead. Do you want to take Jeffery with you?"

"I'll take Jeffery with me, Andrew misses him too."

"Alright then," Nicole said, "You guys can stay one day at each house."

Josephine nodded, "Okay."

Nicole sighed, "You can stay now, but after you get married, you won't be able to come back often."

"Why not?" Josephine said, "I'll come back even after I get married."

She could just bring Stuart back with her.

Nicole said, "If you keep coming back after getting married, they might have opinions."

"Don't worry, they won't have any opinions," Josephine said, "We're so close, I can come back every day."

After talking with Nicole, Josephine sent a message to Stuart in the afternoon to pick up Jeffery together.

But she didn't tell Stuart she was going to the Haustia Family tonight, so Stuart thought she would leave after picking up Jeffery.

So while waiting for Jeffery at the door, he kept looking at Josephine, looking quite pitiful.

Josephine laughed, "You look like you've been greatly wronged."

"You wouldn't understand the grievance of not having my wife at home."

"Smile, or Jeffery will think I bullied you."

"If he sees you bullying me, he'll be happy, no, he'll join you in bullying me."

"Don't wrong Jeffery," Josephine said, "he is very filial."

As they spoke, Jeffery came out. He first ran into Josephine's arms, called her mommy, then looked at Stuart and called him daddy.

Picking up Jeffery meant he had to take them back to The Clarence Family.

Stuart ruffled his hair, "How was kindergarten today?"

"It was good."

As they walked holding Jeffery's hand, Josephine suddenly asked, "Where's your car?"

Parking was difficult here, so Stuart usually parked on another street.

He usually walked them over.

Stuart was puzzled, "Over there, why?"

Josephine asked, "Jeffery, do you want to go to daddy's house tonight?"

Stuart was instantly surprised and delighted.
