Chapter 95 I'll Prove I'm Not Weak

Stuart said, "Then they can leave. The Haustia family does not welcome such guests."

Laura looked at Josephine. She remarked, "Josephine, you lived with such a man for three years? How did you endure it? I warned you before you got married to be cautious. Forget it, just get a divorce!"

Laura always spoke bluntly and was fearless.

Stuart didn't particularly dislike Claudia, but he really disliked Laura.

Because Laura was often around Josephine, giving her advice.

Look, she easily brought up the word divorce.

Stuart's face grew even darker.

Josephine spoke helplessly, "Laura, you and Liam go home first; we'll talk tomorrow."

Liam also said, "Let's go."

Laura gave Stuart a provocative glance before getting into the car.

After they left, Stuart coldly said, "What kind of friends do you have?"

Josephine replied, "You should first look at the friends around you."

Stuart shouted, "Calling for a divorce is a curse!"

Josephine looked at him strangely. She shot back, "Didn't Robin also tell you to get a divorce? Doris has made it clear she wants to be your wife; don't tell me you haven't noticed!"

"Other people's thoughts don't affect me," Stuart said, "But what about you? They egg you on, and you want a divorce?"

Josephine looked at him and said, "You know very well why I want a divorce. It doesn't matter what others say; it's about how we live our lives."

Stuart asked, "Then why do you want a divorce?"

Josephine almost laughed in anger. She scoffed, "I'm certainly not divorcing you because you're faithful and responsible in our marriage."

Hearing the sarcasm in her words, Stuart's voice turned icy. He remarked, "In a business marriage, your expectations are too high. I've given you everything except love; what more do you want?"

"What have you given me?" Josephine asked, "Humiliation, grievances, neglect? Any of your friends can mock and bully me?"

Stuart frowned. He said, "Who bullied you? Robin just has a sharp tongue; he means no harm."

"That's what you think." Josephine smiled. She said dismissively, "Stuart, there's no point in discussing this."

"Then what do you want to discuss?" Stuart sneered, "When to get a divorce?"

Josephine said, "I know what you're worried about."

"What am I worried about?" Stuart asked, "You can't possibly know my thoughts. Josephine, you need to understand; I'm doing this for your own good. If you keep this up, you'll pay for your stubbornness."

Josephine said nothing.

Stuart emphasized, "A business marriage prioritizes interests. Many of our collaborations are deeply intertwined. If we divorce, it will hurt the Kalmien family. And you know how Andrew treats you, can you bear to see him upset?"

It all boiled down to these two points.

Josephine smiled. She replied calmly, "I've said it before; no matter what happens, I'll accept it. As for Mr. Andrew Haustia, I'll explain everything to him."

"Don't even think about it!" Stuart said, "Grandpa is in poor health; do you want to harm him?"

Josephine wrapped her coat tighter. She suggested, "Let's talk inside."

Stuart glanced at her, then suddenly walked over and hugged her. He said, "We'll talk here. Are you cold? This way you won't be."

Stuart's embrace was warm.

But Josephine found his actions inexplicable.

Weren't they arguing?

Even if they weren't arguing, the atmosphere wasn't good.

Why was he hugging her?

"I'm just afraid Grandpa will hear us talking about divorce," Stuart said awkwardly, "It's not because I want to hug you."

Josephine frowned. She scolded, "Then let go; I'm not cold."

"If you catch a cold, Grandpa will blame me." Stuart didn't let go. He insisted, "Don't move."

After a few seconds of silence, Stuart asked, "Why aren't you talking?"

What was there to say?

No one argued while hugging.

Josephine said, "Let's go back; I want to sleep."

"Speaking of sleep," Stuart asked, "what did you mean when you said I should take kidney medicine today?"

Josephine replied, "I meant you should take care of yourself, don't have kidney problems at such a young age."

Stuart said, "Whether I have kidney problems or not, you should know better than anyone."

As soon as he finished speaking, he suddenly picked Josephine up in his arms.

Josephine exclaimed and wrapped her arms around his neck. She asked, "What are you doing?"

Stuart looked down at her. He said slyly, "Since Mrs. Haustia is worried about my health, I naturally have to show you whether I have kidney problems or not."

Josephine struggled hard.

Stuart held her tightly and walked inside. He advised, "Don't move, or you'll wake Grandpa. Let's see if you get embarrassed!"

Josephine was indeed too scared to move.

As soon as they entered the house, Andrew was sitting on the sofa.

However, seeing Stuart carrying Josephine in, Andrew was quite pleased. He praised, "That's better, couples should be sweet and loving."

Stuart said, "Grandpa, she's tired and doesn't want to walk, so I'm taking her upstairs."

Andrew was delighted. He replied, "Alright, alright."

Josephine buried her face in his chest, not wanting to say a word, her earlobes turning red.

Stuart looked down at her and smiled, the day's gloom dissipating.

Upstairs, he placed her on the bed.

Josephine kicked at him. She scolded, "Who said I didn't want to walk? Why did you lie?"

Stuart grabbed her ankle and took off her shoes.

Josephine felt even more uncomfortable. She insisted, "I can do it myself!"

Stuart held her down, took off her shoes, and then her socks.

Josephine was even more embarrassed. She demanded, "Let go of me!"

However, Stuart was quick; in the blink of an eye, he had done it.

He kissed her slender foot and then pressed down on her. He asked gently, "Why didn't you come home last night?"

Josephine glared at him. She questioned, "Did you come home last night?"

"No." Stuart kissed the corner of her lips. He explained, "After you left, I sent everyone away. No one celebrated my birthday; I slept alone at the club."

"That's strange." Josephine pushed him away a bit. She asked irritably, "Is that my fault?"

"Of course." Stuart kissed her eyelashes. He blamed, "If you hadn't caused trouble, I would have been very happy last night. So, you have to make it up to me."

Josephine closed her eyes as he kissed her. She said frustratedly, "Stuart, can you be reasonable?"

"Who talks reason in bed?" Stuart started to undress her. He said coyly, "I just want to prove whether I have kidney problems or not."

Josephine was no match for him, so she said, "I want to take a shower first."

"Perfect." Stuart picked her up. He offered, "I'll help you."

When two people showered together, you could guess what would happen.

The bathroom was filled with steam, the sound of skin against skin, and occasional seductive moans.

By the time Stuart carried her out, it was almost eleven o'clock.

He put her down and checked his phone.

Robin had sent him a message; as soon as he read it, his expression changed.
