Chapter 230 Too Stupid to See That Your Friend Is Coveting Your Wife

Stuart's porridge was delicious and indeed exceeded Josephine's expectations.

"You only made porridge?" She looked up after taking a sip. "How can this fill me up?"

Stuart was clearly surprised. She previously wouldn't let him in, but now she was making demands.

He was stunned for a moment before asking, "What else do you want to eat?"

heS asked, "You don't even know what I have for breakfast. Is this how you pursue me?"

After finishing the porridge, she stood up and left. "Close the door when you leave, thanks."

After she left, he felt the room was empty.

If she had rejected him or shown some emotion, he might've felt better.

He could've told himself that her reaction was because she had feelings for him.

However, her current reaction showed she truly saw him as just an ordinary person.

Josephine had no idea Stuart was thinking so much. She went to the hospital and met with Liam.

When she finished and came out, she saw Otis standing outside the car.

"Let's go," she said, "To the research institute."

Otis spoke up, "Ms. Kalmien."

Seeing him hesitate, she asked, "What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry," Otis said, "I might not be able to be your driver for a while."

Josephine was taken aback and looked at him closely, only to realize he was injured. "What happened to you? What’s going on?"

Before Otis could say anything, Stuart got out of the driver's seat.

"Josephine, get in the car," Stuart said with a smile, "From now on, I'll be your driver."

She was a bit confused. "What are you doing here?"

She glanced at Otis.

Otis said, "Ms. Kalmien, I couldn't beat him. So, he'll be your driver for a few days."

She understood. "Well, never mind, I can drive myself. No need to trouble you, Mr. Haustia."

Stuart said, "That won't do. Otis is your driver, and he lost to me, so it's my job now."

"I've never seen someone so eager to be a driver," She said, "Mr. Haustia, are you that free?"

He walked to the passenger side and opened the door. "Please get in."

She glanced at Otis and then got into the car.

Stuart closed the door, only to see Otis opening the back door.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

Otis raised an eyebrow and smiled. "I lost the driver's job to you, but not the bodyguard's job."

He got in and said to Josephine, "Ms. Kalmien, don't worry. Albeit not your driver, I can still protect you!"

Stuart was silent and furious.

He had finally beaten Otis, and before their match, he hadn't realized Otis would be so tough.

Otis was the toughest opponent he had ever faced.

He won with difficulty, thinking he could finally be alone with Josephine as her driver.

But Otis was still hanging around, claiming to be the bodyguard!

He thought, 'Have I been fooled?'

He drove with a stern face, listening to Josephine and Otis chat casually and displaying their closeness.

He was jealous, wanting to throw Otis out of the window.

When they arrived, Stuart was about to get out when Otis said, "The driver should stay in the car. I'll accompany Ms. Kalmien upstairs."

Stuart clenched his fists. "I'll go with her."

"I'm the bodyguard; it's my job to protect her closely," Otis said, "You just do your job."

Stuart even suspected that Otis had lost to him on purpose.

Just as he was about to respond, he saw a familiar figure. It was Robin.

Stuart wondered, 'What is he doing here?'

Robin didn't expect Stuart to be Josephine's driver.

He walked towards Josephine. "Josephine!"

Josephine saw him and quickly looked away, not wanting to see him for another second.

Otis got out and stood beside Josephine. "Ms. Kalmien, shall we go?"

She nodded and started to walk away.

Robin blocked her. "Let's talk."

She didn't want to say anything to him, trying to walk around.

He reached out to grab her, but Otis blocked him.

Robin was about to say something when someone called his name.

He turned to see Stuart getting out of the car.

Stuart was here, too?

Robin immediately changed his expression. "Stuart? What a coincidence to see you both here."

Stuart glared at him. "Coincidence? Weren't you waiting here on purpose?"

"Of course not. Who would I be waiting for?" Robin laughed. "I saw Josephine and thought I'd say something nice about you. Are you two getting along well? Did you drive her here?"

Stuart locked the car and followed Josephine, who had already walked away. "Mind your own business."

Watching them leave, Robin took a deep breath, gritting his teeth in anger.

Stuart was moving faster than he expected. It seemed he needed to speed up his plans, too.

Stuart quickly caught up, ignoring Otis and asking Josephine, "Has Robin approached you before?"

Josephine nodded.

"What does he want?" Stuart asked, "What did he say?"

"I don't want to deal with him," She replied, "I don't want to say a word to him."

He said, "Last time abroad, you said Robin did something bad to you, which made you cut him."

Otis glanced at Josephine.

Josephine looked at Stuart. "I said I was joking."

"Josephine." Stuart stared at her without blinking. "Tell me the truth."

She smiled. "I don't get along with Robin, so it's normal to stir things up between you two."

"You're not that kind of person," He said, "So, what really happened that night? Tell me, please."

She said, "I told you the truth five years ago, but you didn't believe me."

Stuart gritted his teeth, "So he really tried to rape you."

"It's all in the past," She replied, "From now on, no one around you can bully me anymore."

Hearing this, Stuart felt a sharp pain in his heart.

"I'll investigate," He said, "When I find out the truth, I'll give you an explanation."

"No need." She shook her head. "Maybe five years ago, I hoped you'd trust me more. But now, Stuart, I don't need it anymore."

Then, she entered the meeting room.

Stuart stood there in a daze.

Otis spoke up, "You were too stupid to see that your friend is coveting your wife."

Stuart snapped back to reality, his eyes cold. "Protect Josephine. I have something to do."

Otis replied, "If you're that busy, maybe you shouldn't have become the driver."

Stuart was silent.

His fists clenched, wanting to hit someone. However, he couldn't.

Afterward, he had someone investigate Robin's past actions.
