Chapter 266 Little Bastard, Old Bastard

Claudia was losing it. She was just about to leave with Jeffery when Robin suddenly barged in.

She tried to rush forward, but there was no way she could keep up with Robin.

Robin grabbed Jeffery by the neck, his grin turning even more sinister. "Don't come any closer! Or I'll choke him!"

"Robin!" Claudia screamed at the top of her lungs. "Don't hurt him! Let him go, I'll do anything you want! Please, don't hurt him."

"Robin," Stuart said coldly, "are you really going to hurt a kid? Are you even a man?"

Robin shot back, "Stuart, I know you too well. After what went down today, you reckon you'll just let me walk? I can't even be myself anymore, why would I give a damn about being a man?"?"

"I really despise you," Stuart said, "Setting aside everything else, with your character, do you really think Josephine would ever like you?"

"I don't expect that anymore," Robin sneered, "So, if I can't have her, none of you can! With Jeffery in my hands, do you think she'll listen to me?"

"Robin!" Claudia cried, trying to rush forward. "Let Jeffery go! He's just a kid! Take me instead, just don't hurt Jeffery!"

Stuart held her back, glaring at Robin. "Name your terms."

"You're quite calm," Robin scoffed, "Of course, it's not your kid. His death wouldn't affect you. Heck, it might even play into your hands."

"Robin!" Stuart's voice grew colder. "If you've got any sense of who I am, you'd know that death isn't the ultimate horror. I advise you to stop this nonsense."

"Are you trying to scare me?" Robin sneered, "Do you think I'm afraid of you? If I go down, dragging Jeffery with me ain't no big loss. At least Josephine will remember me forever, won't she?"

"You're insane!" Claudia sobbed. "You're a lunatic!"

Stuart said, "Let him go, and I'll give you enough money and transportation to leave the country. After that, I won't interfere with whatever you do."

Robin yelled, "You think I'll believe you?"

"If I lie to you, I'll never get Josephine's forgiveness," Stuart said, "Anyone with half a brain knows to pick living it up abroad or kicking the bucket here."

"Stuart, why are you doing this?" Robin said coldly, "Jeffery's death would be good for you. You might even thank me. Now you're pretending to be a good guy for the sake of so-called morality and principles?"

"Robin, that's the difference between you and me. No matter how much I dislike him, whether he's Josephine's kid or not, he's still a life." Stuart's face was expressionless. "Or, let him go and take me as your hostage. I'll agree to whatever you want."

"You're willing to go that far?" Robin looked at him in disbelief. "Do you think this will move Josephine?"

"I don't care if it moves her," Stuart said, "But since he's Josephine's son, it's on me to keep him safe and sound!"

Robin shook his head. "You sound so selfless, I don't believe it. Would you really trade your life for his?"

"Let him go and take me as your hostage," Stuart said, "Will that convince you?"

"You're not as easy to control as Jeffery," Robin sneered, "But if you break one of your legs, I might consider it."

Stuart was silent for a few seconds.

Claudia shook her head. "No! He's lying!"

She turned to Robin and said, "I'll be the hostage! Please let Jeffery go."

"Don't beg him," Stuart said, "Do you think he'll listen?"

Robin said, "You do know me well. So, your so-called protection of Jeffery is just talk. You won't even break a leg for him."

He looked down at Jeffery. "Jeffery, see? He wants you dead. If you ever see Josephine again, remember to tell her."

"Robin!" Stuart gritted his teeth. "If you keep talking nonsense..."

"What? You're still threatening me?" Robin laughed. "It seems you really don't like Jeffery."

"Name your terms." Stuart took a deep breath, suppressing his anger. "If you don't, don't blame me for regretting it!"

"See, he doesn't care about your life or death," Robin said to Jeffery, "Do you understand?"

Jeffery nodded, his blue eyes coldly staring at Stuart. "I know, he doesn't like me. If I die here, it might be exactly what he wants."

Robin laughed. "Wow, you see things quite clearly!"

He looked at Stuart. "Why bother faking it? The cat's out of the bag!"

Stuart, still holding Claudia back, smiled and let go of her. "Well, no need for pretense then."

Claudia stared at him in shock. "Stuart, what do you mean?"

Everything that happened today had already exceeded her mental capacity.

Josephine had asked her to take Jeffery out, but something went wrong.

If anything happened to Jeffery, she would never forgive herself.

Stuart looked at her. "He's Josephine and Roy's child. How could I tolerate that?"

"You..." Claudia couldn't believe her ears.

Stuart continued, "Calling him a little bastard is putting it lightly."

He looked at Jeffery and sneered, "Little bastard."

Jeffery's eyes were icy as he looked at him. "Old bastard."

Claudia, tears streaming down her face, shouted at Stuart. "Stuart, shut up!"

But Stuart ignored her, only looking at Robin. "So, I should thank you. If you really solve this for me, it saves me the trouble."

Robin suddenly sensed something was wrong. "Don't come any closer! I don't believe you! Don't come any closer, or I'll really strangle him!"

"You forced me to speak my mind, but now you don't believe me?" Stuart sneered, stepping closer. "Strangle him, I'll watch you do it."

Robin, holding Jeffery with one arm and gripping his neck with the other, began to tremble.

Stuart was just a step away. "I gave you a chance to be a man. But you refused."

Robin stepped back. "Stuart, aren't you afraid Josephine will find out?"

"The dead don't spill no secrets." Stuart said, glancing back at Claudia.

Claudia shivered violently.

Robin was shocked. "You! You're going to kill us all to silence us?"

In a flash, Stuart kicked at Robin's knee and reached for Jeffery.
