Chapter 572 Like or Dislike

Ulysses asked, "How do you know?"

Madeline said, "Who else can you ask? You can't ask Charlotte, can you?"

Ulysses immediately got angry, "Why bring her up?"

Madeline laughed, "So I was right."

Ulysses was a bit embarrassed.

He said, "Just say less, no one will think you're mute."

Madeline said, "Okay. Do you want me to call her for you? Does she know you're waiting for her?"

"She doesn't know," Ulysses said, "And don't call her. I'm not... not ready to see her."

"If you came here, you must want to see her."

Ulysses said, "You go, go quickly, don't worry about it!"

Madeline said, "Do you know what you look like right now?"

Ulysses instinctively felt she wouldn't say anything good.

He didn't want to listen, "Just go, are you bored or something?"

"I just finished a date with my boyfriend, nothing to do when I go back anyway."

Ulysses said, "Then I'm leaving."

Madeline called him, "Don't go! Fine, fine, I'll go! I won't bother you!"

After saying that, she went into the dorm building.

Her dorm wasn't far from Isadora's dorm, so she thought for a moment and decided to go over.

But when she knocked on the door, Isadora wasn't in her dorm at all.

Madeline shook her head, and while walking back to her dorm, she sent a message to Ulysses.

Madeline: [Don't wait, she's not in her dorm.]

Ulysses replied: [Then she should come back, right?]

Madeline: [Isadora has a place off-campus, you know that, right?]

Ulysses: [She usually only goes there on weekends.]

Madeline: [Oh, you know her so well, and you say you don't like her!]

Ulysses angrily turned off his phone and ignored her.

Madeline felt she should see this through.

She immediately sent a message to Isadora: [Ulysses is waiting for you outside the dorm building.]

Isadora didn't reply.

Madeline didn't know that Isadora was drunk.

She had bought a few bottles of beer by herself, went back to the house near the school, locked the door, and started drinking.

She had never drunk before; this was her first time, and she got tipsy before finishing one bottle.

She didn't know when she fell asleep.

When she woke up, it was already the next day.

She didn't have a headache, just couldn't remember what happened last night.

Looking at the state of the living room, she figured she probably drank and then slept.

This also proved that her alcohol tolerance wasn't great, less than one bottle, and she was drunk.

And she blacked out.

After washing up, Isadora saw the message on her phone.

Madeline had sent it, saying Ulysses was waiting for her outside the dorm building.

Isadora was first stunned, then smiled.

What was Ulysses doing?

When she was pursuing him before, he was unmoved.

Now that she was ready to give up, he was making a move?

Isadora went out to have some breakfast, bought a cup of milk, and walked to school while sipping through a straw.

She saw Ulysses outside the classroom.

They were not in the same department, so they couldn't possibly have classes in the same room.

Isadora glanced at him, didn't say anything, and walked around him.

But Ulysses stood in front of her again.

Isadora then looked at him, "Do you need something?"

Ulysses' eyes were a bit red.

He stared at Isadora, "Yes, I do."

"Go ahead, what is it?"

Ulysses took out his phone, "The money for the meal before, I'll transfer it to you."

Isadora let go of the straw, looking at him incredulously, "That's it?"

Ulysses looked down at his phone, operated it for a while, "Yes, I don't like owing people."

Isadora smiled, "Alright, I'll accept it."

She opened her phone and accepted the money Ulysses sent.

She then sent some back, "You sent too much, it didn't cost that much."

"It's okay." Ulysses put his phone in his pocket.

"I don't like owing people either," Isadora said, "You take it."

Ulysses didn't know what to say, so he just said, "I won't take it, I'm leaving."

He turned and left. Isadora watched him.

After he walked a few steps, Isadora called him, "Ulysses!"

Ulysses turned back, "What?"

Isadora said, "Do you really not want to be with me?"

Ulysses didn't say anything.

He suddenly looked past Isadora.

Isadora followed his gaze and saw Charlotte.

Charlotte was just passing by, she had no feelings for Ulysses.

But Isadora, she didn't dare to provoke.

Instinctively, she smiled at Isadora.

Isadora ignored her and even snorted.

Charlotte quickly walked away.

Isadora looked at Ulysses and found him in a daze.

Obviously, he was dazed because he saw Charlotte.

Isadora stomped her foot and ran into the classroom.

Ulysses stood there thoughtfully for a while, then turned and left.

He went to class as usual, and during lunch, he didn't see Isadora. He ate lunch alone in silence and then went back to the dorm.

He didn't have classes in the afternoon, so he went home.

Nicole was arranging flowers; it wasn't the weekend, so Gerald and Kathy weren't home.

"Why are you back at this time?" Nicole asked someone to bring him fruit and snacks.

He sat down in the living room. "Grandma, if I were to date, would you have any requirements?"

Nicole sat next to him, "At your age, you should just enjoy dating. No one knows if you'll end up getting married or staying together forever, but since you like someone now, just enjoy it."

"But why do I feel a bit uncomfortable?"

Nicole said, "If you didn't like her, you wouldn't even feel uncomfortable. Let me ask you, do you like her?"

Ulysses said, "I..."

Nicole said, "If you say you don't know, then you don't like her. If you like someone, you definitely know. It's just a matter of knowing sooner or later."

Ulysses responded with an "oh."

Nicole continued, "You shouldn't feel pressured now, youth is the best time to enjoy the joy of dating, why think so much?"

Ulysses said, "I just always thought I liked gentle girls."

"Gentle." Nicole smiled, "How to say, this word is hard to define. Some people may seem gentle but are actually deceitful. Some people are straightforward but pure-hearted. Which one do you like?"

Ulysses said, "Of course, the pure-hearted one."

"You see, whether someone is gentle or not isn't that important. Besides, to be irresponsible, at your age, you can date one or even two girlfriends, and then you'll know what you like."

"I don't want to, how is that different from being a bad guy?"

Nicole said, "It's not like I'm asking you to date two women at the same time."

Ulysses responded with an "oh."

Nicole said, "If you really don't understand your feelings, then take some time to calm down."

"I've been calm for a few days."

"And you still don't understand?"

"I understand. But I just can't put my pride down."
