Chapter 387 Stuart Was Outshone

In the end, when they met up that evening, Stuart felt totally overshadowed by someone else.

Josephine took a moment to call Roy. She figured she should let him know she was with Stuart.

Out of the blue, when Roy heard she had picked Stuart again, he rushed back from abroad.

Despite knowing Josephine only viewed him as a friend, as they had previously agreed, he struggled to come to terms with it.

Plus, he thought he was way better than Stuart; at least he wouldn't hurt Josephine.

There was an old saying in Premland: don't make the same mistake twice.

How could Josephine, after getting hurt once, still choose Stuart? Roy couldn't wrap his head around it and had to ask her face-to-face.

He hurried back from abroad, and by the time he got there, it was already evening.

As Stuart parked his car, a luxurious vehicle pulled up in front of him, revealing Roy.

Roy got out of the car, buttoned his suit, and then took out his phone to call Josephine. "Josephine, I'm downstairs."

Josephine had just finished her work and was surprised to hear Roy was there. "Why are you here?"

"I can't just stand by and watch you hurt yourself."

"Wait for me, I'll be right down."

Josephine quickly gave some instructions to her assistant, changed her clothes, and headed downstairs.

Stuart was already tense upon seeing Roy's arrival, especially since Josephine had just agreed to be his girlfriend. His mind raced with questions as he swiftly exited the car.

Despite Roy noticing him, he chose to ignore Stuart, as he had always held a negative opinion of him.

Stuart felt he should be gracious since he was the winner. He walked over and greeted Roy. "Hey."

Roy glanced at him. "Do you need something?"

Stuart said, "Let's reintroduce ourselves."

Roy said, "Sorry, I don't want to know you."

"You're waiting for Josephine, right?" Stuart said. "She's my girlfriend now."

Stuart couldn't help but want to show off. If he could, he wanted to shout it from the rooftops that Josephine had chosen him.

Roy, holding back his anger, said, "Don't get too cocky! Josephine will see your true colors sooner or later!"

Stuart frowned, "What did I do?"

"You used to..." Roy thought for a moment and said, "Forget it, I don't want to talk to you."

Stuart wasn't happy with his tone. "If you don't want to talk, then don't. But why are you here to see my girlfriend?"

"My business with Josephine has nothing to do with you. Does everything about Josephine have to go through you?"

Stuart said, "I just want to make sure my girlfriend's safe."

"Are you saying I'm a threat to her safety?"

"Well, you're a guy who wants my girlfriend. I have to be careful."

"Stuart, you..."

Before Roy could finish, Josephine came down. "What are you two doing?"

Seeing Josephine, Roy immediately ran over and hugged her. "Josephine!" His voice was filled with joy and a bit of hurt.

Stuart, watching from the side, was fuming. 'Why are you hugging her! Josephine is my girlfriend! Let go!' he thought.

But honestly, Stuart had just become Josephine's boyfriend, so he didn't dare to act out in front of her.

Even though he wanted to pull Roy away and kick him, he didn't dare.

Fortunately, Josephine quickly pushed him away. "Roy, why did you suddenly come? Is something wrong?"

"Of course, there's something wrong!" Roy looked at her with a hurt expression. "Even if you don't choose me, you can't make the same mistake and pick Stuart, this bad guy, as your boyfriend, right?"

Before Josephine could respond, Stuart jumped in, "You're the bad guy!"

Roy shot him a look. "What, you don't own up to the things you did before?"

Stuart went silent. He looked at Josephine with a wounded expression. "Josephine..."

Josephine felt caught in the middle. She turned to Roy and said, "You just got back, you've had a long flight. You should rest."

"I'm not tired!" Roy insisted, "Wait! I brought you a gift!"

He quickly walked to his luxury car, popped the trunk, and pulled out the gift.

Stuart's eyes widened. What was going on? Roy, the cunning fellow, had even brought flowers! It was evident that Roy had purchased more flowers than Stuart had!

Stuart had thought practically and figured that Josephine holding such a large bouquet would be heavy, so he chose ninety-nine roses.

Actually, this bouquet was already quite large. Unexpectedly, Roy bought an even larger one! And not just flowers, he also brought several gift boxes from various luxury brands.

He walked over and handed them to Josephine. "These are for you. The flowers were ordered before I got on the plane, and the gifts are what I brought back from abroad. See if you like them."

Stuart was about to explode with anger! Despite having prepared flowers and gifts, he felt completely overshadowed by Roy. How could he present his gifts now?

Josephine sighed. "Why did you buy so many gifts? It's not even a holiday."

Roy said, "Can't I give you gifts even if it's not a holiday? You gave me a lot before too."

Hearing this, Stuart was immediately jealous. Josephine gave Roy a lot of gifts before? What gifts? He wanted them too!

But still, he didn't dare to say anything.

Stuart even felt stupid and clumsy. Next time, he might as well bring the whole flower shop!

Josephine didn't have time to look at Stuart and explained to Roy, "I appreciate your thoughtfulness, but you know, I rarely use these things."

Roy looked at her. "Josephine, I brought these from so far away, and you don't want them? Even if we don't have any other relationship, aren't I your best friend? Aren't I Jeffery's godfather?"

Stuart thought to himself, 'Holy crap, isn't Jeffery's godfather Liam?'

Josephine helplessly said, "Yes, but you don't need to buy so many expensive things."

"I want to give these to you. You deserve the best!"

Stuart, listening from the side, was both angry and grudgingly thought, Roy actually made sense! He also wanted to give Josephine the best!

Josephine glanced at Stuart, whose eyes were still filled with grievance.

Josephine said, "Roy, you've had a long day, why don't you go home and rest?" When he came before, Roy had bought property, and not just one.

Roy asked her, "Then have dinner with me? I haven't eaten yet."

Josephine had to look at Stuart. "You..."

Stuart retorted coolly, "Well then, my girlfriend Josephine and I will join you. Let me take you to a fantastic restaurant."
