Chapter 302 What Are You So Shy About?
Josephine practically launched herself into Stuart's arms, her cheek smushed against his chest, and her hands gripping his shoulders like a lifeline.
She was all in, no holding back.
Stuart wrapped his arms around her waist, making sure she didn't topple over.
Josephine found her footing and finally stood steady.
But then she realized, in the water, her legs were all tangled up with Stuart's!
She tried to push him away and take a step back.
But, surprise! There was a stone wall behind her, and Stuart stepped closer, trapping her between the wall and his embrace.
With the romantic vibe and the misty water, it was hard not to let the mind wander. Josephine almost fell, and the skin-to-skin contact brought back a flood of memories for Stuart. He looked at her, barely keeping his emotions in check.
So many sweet moments, those memories had kept Stuart company through countless sleepless nights.
Now, the Josephine he had dreamed about was right in front of him. She had almost fallen, and her towel had slipped, showing off her rounded shoulder.
Stuart's Adam's apple bobbed, his mind went blank, and he couldn't think straight. Driven by pure impulse, he kissed her.
Josephine didn't react right away. By the time she did, Stuart had already pressed down, and they were tightly pressed together.
He kissed her deeply and passionately, just like old times. The long-lost feeling was like a memory waking up inside her.
She wanted to resist, but her body reacted before her brain, like a reflex. Even after all these years, his kiss still made her heart race and her legs weak.
Stuart held Josephine close, one hand around her waist, the other cradling her head, kissing her like there was no tomorrow.
In that moment, he forgot their separation and the end of their marriage.
Josephine was his lost and found treasure, and he was never letting go.
Stuart kissed her, his eyes shut tight, his eyelashes trembling. The next second, tears streamed down his face.
For a moment, he couldn't tell if this was real or a dream.
It had to be a dream. So sweet and intoxicating. Since their separation, he hadn't even dared to dream of something this sweet.
He prayed to prolong the moment, dreading the awakening. However, Josephine soon snapped out of it and began to struggle.
Her movements jolted Stuart back to reality.
This wasn't a dream! He had really kissed Josephine!
Josephine would never let him kiss her, so what had he done? How could he force a kiss on her?
Stuart pulled away, looking longingly at her now deeper lip color, and said, "I'm sorry."
Josephine didn't say a word, pushed him away again, tightened the towel around her, and started to leave.
"Be careful!" Stuart, pushed away, saw her move and couldn't help but step forward to support her. "It's slippery here."
Josephine's eyes were misty, and the corners of her eyes were red.
She looked at Stuart, her voice filled with anger, "Stuart! How could you do this?"
In her anger, she looked even more vibrant and alive.
Stuart's Adam's apple moved up and down, and he averted his gaze, fearful of losing control and kissing her once more. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help it."
Both were now on their feet, the hot spring water nearly reaching their waists. Josephine glanced down and saw Stuart's reaction through the clear water.
"You're just..." Josephine was both embarrassed and angry, not even wanting to talk to him, and walked away holding onto the stone wall.
Stuart wanted to follow her but looked down at his situation. Forget it, it wasn't a good time to go out now.
Josephine, with a towel wrapped around her, walked away with a stern face. Laura saw her and raised her hand, calling out, "Josephine!"
Josephine looked over and saw Steven holding Laura, the two of them walking towards her.Josephine wiped her eyes and forced a smile at them.
Laura walked over and gave her a once-over. "What's up with you? Were you crying?"
"No, why would I cry?" Josephine replied. "I just got some water in my eyes and rubbed them. Are they red?"
"Yeah, a bit," Laura said, concerned. "Where's Jeffery?"
"He's with Liam over there in the water. I was just about to go find him."
"Let's go together then," Laura suggested, pushing Steven's hand away. "You go soak by yourself for a while, don't follow me."
With that, she pulled Josephine along.
Josephine gave Steven an apologetic smile and then asked Laura, "Why did you leave Steven behind?"
Laura sighed, "Just seeing him makes me mad."
"What happened now?" Josephine asked.
"What do men have in their heads? Is it all just desire? Thinking about that all day long, aren't they afraid of dying in bed?"
Listening to Laura's complaints, Josephine felt a bit uncomfortable. "You, you should stop."
Laura saw her blushing and laughed, "You're not a little girl anymore, you've been married, why are you still so shy?"
Josephine said, "Keep your voice down! Why are you shouting about this kind of thing?"
Laura laughed uncontrollably, "Don't worry, no one can hear us."
Josephine didn't want to deal with her anymore.
Laura continued, "What's there to be shy about? I don't believe that Stuart never... wait, why is your face getting even redder? Are you hiding something from me?"
As they were talking, Stuart caught up with them from another path.
His physique was even better than Steven's, a perfect body, coupled with that captivatingly handsome face, causing countless girls to cover their faces and scream as he walked by.
Josephine saw him and froze for a moment, then remembered that kiss, and her face turned even redder.
Stuart also looked at her, his gaze filled with undisguised affection.
Laura looked at her, then at Stuart, and immediately understood, "Did you two do something behind my back?"
Josephine snapped out of it, withdrew her gaze, and pulled Laura along, walking away with her head down.
Seeing her guilty look, Laura understood everything, "You two really... wow! Stuart, impressive!"
"What are you talking about!" Josephine glared at her, "Stop meddling! I'm not even friends with him!"
"I don't believe you!" Laura wasn't afraid of her, "But seriously, Josephine, don't you have any needs? Why not let Stuart be your free massage stick, he has such a great body."
Josephine covered her ears and ran off.
Laura laughed heartily behind her.
Stuart walked over and asked, "What's wrong with Josephine?"
Laura glanced at him. Even though she had Steven, it didn't stop her from appreciating Stuart. "She's embarrassed."
Stuart said, "I'll go find her."
Laura called out to him, "Hey, wait a minute!"
Stuart turned back, "What's up?"
Laura said, "Didn't you ask me to help you before?"
Stuart beamed, "You're on board?"
Laura shook her head, "No, I'm still considering it."
"Well, what's it gonna take to get you on board then?"
"Stuart, did you know that Todd called Josephine again?"
With the Alfonso debacle causing quite the commotion and the Starlight Festival looming, the Campbell Family found themselves in a frenzy.
Naturally, Emily was anxious too, since she was going to be part of the Campbell Family.
Hearing that this matter involved Stuart and Josephine, she went straight to complain. And Todd, not understanding the situation, called Josephine to blame her.
Josephine was speechless, patiently explaining what had happened, but Todd said, "Aren't you fine? Then why are you making a fuss? What good does it do you to ruin the Campbell Family? Emily is going to be part of the Campbell Family, and we need to cooperate with them."
"Dad," Josephine called him softly, "Are you really my dad?"
Todd was taken aback.
Josephine said, "I can't make decisions about this. Whatever Stuart wants to do, I can't control it." With that, she hung up the phone.
Laura had been beside her at the time and heard everything clearly. Now she relayed it to Stuart, and after hearing it, Stuart felt nothing but heartache.
He asked Laura, "So, what do you want me to do?"
