Chapter 92 You Two Are Really Quiet a Match
Josephine struggled. She asked, "What are you doing!"
"You are my wife," Stuart said, "It's my birthday; you should accompany me."
Josephine said, "You never let me accompany you before!"
Stuart retorted, "Well, you haven't even prepared a gift for me this year!"
Josephine wanted to say something, but Stuart said, "Change your clothes and come with me, or do you want Andrew to hear us arguing?"
Ten minutes later, both were dressed and got in the car.
All the way, Josephine ignored him, not even glancing at him.
Stuart also had a stern face, full of anger.
Josephine really couldn't understand what Stuart was taking her to do.
Moreover, Doris was also there.
In the past, at such gatherings, Robin's harsh words embarrassed her; Josephine endured as much as she could.
So, was Stuart taking her there just to see her humiliated?
Unfortunately, Stuart's plan was going to fail.
She had figured it out and wouldn't endure them anymore.
The grievances she had suffered before, she would get back at them this time.
Thinking this, Josephine felt a bit energized and quietly entered a combat state.
Stuart glanced at her and said in a bad tone, "What are you smiling at?"
"Smiling?" Josephine touched the corner of her lips. She replied snidely, "It's your birthday; they must have bought a cake, right? Thinking about having dessert makes me happy."
Stuart uttered, "It's my birthday, and not only did you not buy a gift, but you also want to eat cake. Do you have any shame?"
Josephine retorted, "I've given you gifts for several years before. And you? Not to mention gifts, you don't even know when my birthday is. Shouldn't you be the one feeling ashamed?"
The two were at each other's throats, aggressive and unyielding.
The driver in the front didn't dare to speak.
Finally, they arrived at the club; Josephine opened the door and got out of the car.
Stuart walked to her side, bending his arm.
Josephine glanced at him. She asked, "What are you doing?"
"Link arms!" Stuart said, "Otherwise, they won't let you in!"
"Are you proud to come to a place like this?" Josephine said, "Playing around outside so recklessly, Mr. Haustia is really carefree."
"Other people have mouths to talk." Stuart glanced at her. He said sarcastically, "You're different, your mouth looks good, just keep it as a decoration, no need to speak."
Josephine sneered.
Stuart was a VIP at the club; everyone was respectful when they saw him.
When he walked past, they quietly discussed Josephine who was with him.
Words like beautiful and cold occasionally drifted into Stuart's ears.
He couldn't help but look down at Josephine.
Josephine was wearing a black cashmere coat.
The coat reached her calves, and below were simple white shoes, with black cotton socks wrapping her slender ankles.
Ordinary clothes looked good on her.
Stuart felt very conflicted; he was happy to hear others praise Josephine.
However, he didn't want them to see her face, what if they liked her?
Josephine thought Stuart was acting weird.
His expression changed from good to bad, switching smoothly and effortlessly.
The two took the elevator from the first floor and entered the private room. Stuart glared at her several times, rolling his eyes in frustration.
He had no sense of maintaining his image.
Josephine looked at him and once again felt that her decision to divorce was correct.
Living with such a moody man for a lifetime, she would definitely be driven mad.
As soon as Stuart entered the club, someone had already informed others, so when they stood at the private room door, the door opened by itself.
Doris scattered rose petals, shouting, "Surprise!"
Then, the petals fell all over Stuart and Josephine.
Doris saw who it was and her face darkened. She asked, annoyed, "Why are you here?"
Josephine was here for revenge; Robin had often made her feel aggrieved before.
Seeing Doris, she naturally didn't have a good expression.
She said, "It's strange; it's Stuart's birthday; random people can come, but I, his wife, can't?"
Doris, who was referred to as random people, looked even more upset.
Her eyes reddened, and she bit her lower lip, looking at Stuart. Doris said as she acted pitifully, "Stuart, that's not what I meant; you know that."
Stuart was about to speak when Josephine said, "Then why are you blocking the door? Don't want to let me in?"
Stuart said, "Let's go in first."
Doris reluctantly moved aside, watching Josephine link arms with Stuart and go in.
Robin didn't expect Josephine to come either.
Moreover, the two of them looked well matched, arm in arm.
He frowned. Robin said sarcastically, "Oh, Dr. Kalmien, why are you here today? Didn't you despise us for just knowing how to play all day?"
Indeed, before Josephine married Stuart, she had said such things.
Josephine glanced at him. She shot back, "Just came to see if you all have made any progress. After all, you're all getting older, playing also requires capital."
"Who are you calling old?" Robin snapped her and immediately got angry.
When he was young, he was naughty and didn't study well, repeating two years before being in the same class as Stuart.
So he was the oldest among these people.
Except for Doris, Josephine was the youngest.
Actually, Robin wasn't old, but he had always been conscious of this issue since he was young.
Josephine hit his weak spot as soon as she arrived.
"I'm talking about whoever questions me," Josephine said, "You have quite a bit of self-awareness."
Robin was furious, directly looking at Stuart. He asked, "Why did you bring her here?! You two are just a marriage of convenience; do you have to pretend to be deeply in love?"
Stuart inexplicably felt uncomfortable hearing this, glanced at him, and said nothing.
Josephine was used to it; Stuart never spoke up for her when his friends bullied and excluded her.
Others were also a bit stunned; Doris was still here, why did Stuart bring Josephine?
How was this going to proceed?
Josephine looked at the club's decorations.
It looked like a child's birthday party, with flowers and balloons everywhere, and words on the wall.
Josephine laughed.
Stuart looked at her. He asked, "What are you laughing at?"
Josephine said, "So, this is how you've been celebrating your birthdays these years. The room is decorated like this; the club's taste is so bad. How has it not gone out of business?"
Doris sniffled, tears falling. She said, "Josephine, what do you mean? Even if you don't like me, you can talk to me privately. Do you have to make everyone unhappy on Stuart's birthday?"
"I don't like you?" Josephine was puzzled. She remarked snidely, "I didn't even mention you."
She realized and pointed to the wall decorations. Josephine said mockingly, "No way, you arranged all this?"
"Yes," Doris said, "Even if it doesn't match your taste, you should at least respect other people's hard work."
Josephine really didn't know the room was arranged by Doris.
She smiled. Then Josephine remarked, "As a mistress who steals someone else's husband, you're telling me to respect other people's hard work?"
She then looked at Stuart. She scoffed, "You two are really quite a match."
