Chapter 169 If She Gets Hurt, I Won't Forgive You!
Donna always kept her distance from Josephine.
Even with two big guys around, Josephine was cautious about her safety.
But Josephine found a chance, pressing a blade to Donna's neck, freezing her in fear.
"I'm a doctor," Josephine whispered. "I know where to cut to hit a major artery. You won't make it to the hospital."
Donna was shocked and scared. "You wouldn't dare! Killing is illegal!"
"I know," Josephine laughed. "But you kidnapped me first. This is self-defense, right?"
Whether it was or not, Josephine had the upper hand now.
"Tell them to take me back," Josephine ordered. "Behave, or your neck gets a fatal wound."
Donna felt the cold blade against her skin.
The two men who brought Josephine were stunned but followed Donna's orders.
Josephine got back in the car, sitting in the back with the blade still on Donna's neck.
Meanwhile, Stuart got news from the local armed forces. They found the warehouse where Josephine was and sent photos to confirm who to rescue.
They guessed it was the woman held at knifepoint.
Stuart's eyes widened in disbelief. His heart raced, and his mind went blank.
He dialed a familiar number, but no one answered. He tried again, still no answer.
He called Robin. "Have you talked to her recently?"
"Her?" Robin asked. "You mean Angela? I haven't in a few days, but she was fine last time."
"I can't reach her," Stuart said urgently. "Ask her friends to check on her."
Robin asked, "What's going on?"
"Just do it!" Stuart shouted.
Robin agreed, "Alright, I'll check. Don't worry."
Stuart sped to the warehouse. Robin called back. "Angela's friends haven't seen her. She went to her place, and no one's there."
Stuart's heart sank. "Got it."
He hung up and called Josephine.
Josephine answered with one hand, still holding the blade.
Stuart's cold voice came through. "Josephine! Let her go! If she gets hurt, I'll never forgive you!"
Josephine was stunned.
Stuart continued, "Let her go. If she gets hurt, you won't escape responsibility. Don't act rashly. We'll talk when I get there."
Josephine asked, "You know where I am?"
Stuart said, "Yes."
Josephine asked, "You know what I've been through?"
Stuart replied, "No matter what, you can't hurt her!"
Angela had saved his life. Without her, he'd be dead.
He admitted a big part of why he saw Angela as his first love was because she saved him.
Even though he now liked Josephine, he still cared about Angela.
He felt these were two different kinds of feelings.
But no matter what, Josephine couldn't threaten Angela's life.
Her carotid artery was right under Josephine's blade. A slight cut... Stuart couldn't even imagine.
Josephine mocked. "If I don't hurt her, she'll hurt me. What do you suggest I do?"
"There must be some misunderstanding," Stuart said. "Wait for me. I'll be there soon!"
Josephine looked at Donna. "I didn't know you had another mistress."
Stuart said, "Can you stop being unreasonable? Angela has no grudge against you. Don't scare her; she's timid."
"Angela?" Josephine tilted her head, the blade still pressed against Donna. "So her name is Angela too."
Stuart was stunned. "You can't even recognize Angela?"
"It's been years since we last met," Josephine sneered. "It's normal not to recognize her. But..."
She bent down, got close to Donna, put the phone on speaker, and asked, "Beauty, tell us your name. A handsome guy will come to save you soon!"
Donna, on the verge of tears, cried, "Mr. Haustia, it's me, Donna! Mr. Haustia, please save me! Josephine is going to kill me!"
Stuart felt a buzzing in his head.
He was stunned for a moment before asking, "Who are you? What are you saying?"
"I'm Donna!" Donna was genuinely scared to tears, with the blade against her artery. "Please save me!"
Stuart resisted the urge to curse, slammed on the brakes, and the tires screeched.
He quickly hung up. At that moment, his phone rang again. The caller ID showed it was Angela.
He answered in a daze.
Angela's voice had a hint of surprise. "Stuart? Is that you? You actually called me. What's up?"
Stuart could barely speak. "Why didn't you answer earlier?"
Angela said, "I haven't had much inspiration lately, so I went to a hot spring. I was in the bath just now."
The phone slipped from Stuart's hand.
Angela asked, "Stuart? Why aren't you saying anything?"
Stuart hurriedly picked up the phone and hung up in a panic.
He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.
He called Robin again. "What's with your cousin? Why is she here?"
Robin sounded innocent. "She came too? I didn't know. But how do you know? Did you see her?"
Stuart coldly said, "If you don't want her to die, you'd better come here now!"
Robin quickly arrived at the location Stuart gave. As soon as he got into Stuart's car, he received a call from Donna.
Stuart saw it too and said coldly, "Answer it!"
Robin answered. Donna cried on the other end. "Robin! I almost died! Josephine is a lunatic!"
