Chapter 410 Showing Their Affection
"This is... for me?" Stuart could barely believe his eyes.
Josephine smiled, "I’m not sure if it’s the right size, but the clerk said we can get it adjusted. They can even engrave it."
As Josephine reached for the ring, Stuart quickly interjected, "Let me help you with that." He picked up the smaller ring, took her hand, and gently slid it onto her middle finger.
"This is the right finger, right?" Stuart's hand trembled a bit. "I heard you wear it on the middle finger when you're in love, and on the ring finger when you're married."
Josephine chuckled at his nervousness and picked up the other ring to put it on him. "Yes, I bought it now, and in the future, you can buy it."
Stuart kissed her finger softly. "Okay."
He then held her hand, extended his other hand, and snapped a photo.
"What are you doing?" Josephine asked, curious.
"I want to post it on Instagram," he replied.
Josephine was surprised. "You post on Instagram?" She had never seen him post anything before; his account was practically empty.
"Why not?"
Josephine shrugged, "Just not used to it."
Stuart hugged her, opened his phone, and started typing. "I used to think posting everything on Instagram was silly, but now I get it."
"Not only do you get it, but you also want to join in," Josephine teased. "Are you really going to post it?"
"Yep." Stuart had already posted the picture and the caption.
Josephine took his phone, refreshed the page, and saw the post. Stuart's caption was simple: [Hope we are together forever.] The picture was the one they had just taken.
Stuart's Instagram was usually all business, with the occasional company update. Most of his followers were company executives, some of whom were also friends with Josephine.
She watched as the views and comments started pouring in, clearly surprising everyone.
Stuart put down his phone and took hers away too, setting it aside. "Let's go eat."
Josephine remembered he had mentioned the cafeteria, but after being introduced to everyone, she felt a bit nervous about going there. It would be crowded, and who knew what Stuart might do next.
"How about you bring the food back, and we eat in the office?" she suggested.
"The cafeteria has private rooms," Stuart reassured her. "It's very quiet."
With no other choice, Josephine went with him. Stuart held her hand the whole way, occasionally glancing at her with a loving smile.
The employees who saw this were stunned. Was this the same cold Stuart? He seemed so different, so gentle!
Indeed, love had changed Stuart. True love was different from those business marriages. His expression showed what genuine love looked like.
Under everyone's envious gazes, Josephine finally reached the cafeteria. In Hustalia, Stuart's company cafeteria was pretty famous in the industry. Stuart had hired top-notch chefs, and besides the cafeteria, the company offered free snacks, drinks, and even a fitness floor with a swimming pool and showers.
Of course, with such great perks, employees were expected to perform. Only the best made it into Stuart's company.
Stuart used to only have a branch in Celestia Springs, but recently, he rented the most luxurious commercial building in Hustalia. Rumor had it he might buy it soon.
Everyone knew Stuart for his decisive work ethic and cold demeanor. Who would've thought they'd see such a gentle side of him?
Those working today felt it was worth it. Stuart and Josephine together were like a scene from a TV drama, just perfect.
When they finally reached the cafeteria, Josephine thought the staring would stop. But Stuart seemed to enjoy showing off their relationship.
He held her hand and walked through the cafeteria, checking out all the dishes. He had even arranged for some of Josephine's favorites to be prepared.
One of the cafeteria ladies, who was quite straightforward, saw them and asked, "Mr. Haustia, is this lovely lady your girlfriend? She's gorgeous!"
Stuart, happy someone asked, quickly replied, "Yes, this is my girlfriend."
"Wish you both a sweet love!" the lady said, handing them a dessert. "Here's something sweet for the sweet couple."
"Thanks," Stuart said.
They finally went to a private room, and Josephine sighed in relief as she sat down.
Stuart handed her the utensils and asked, "Tired?"
Josephine replied, "You weren't like this before."
Stuart smiled, "People change. Now that I have the most precious thing by my side, I want to show it off."
Josephine asked, "What did you consider the most precious before?"
Stuart thought for a moment, "Probably work."
Josephine nodded. Back then, Stuart was all about work—no days off, late nights, and constant business trips. He made a lot of money, but the effort was immense.
"It's better to balance work and rest," Josephine said. "It's not good for your health otherwise."
"That's why I got a girlfriend," Stuart said, leaning in to kiss her. "You can keep an eye on me now."
Josephine smiled, "No need to supervise. You seem pretty disciplined already."
"Not enough," Stuart said. "You didn't accept the ring I bought before. The couple rings should've been my job, but you bought them first."
"The one you gave before was too extravagant for everyday wear," Josephine said. "Does it matter who buys it?"
Stuart loved hearing that. "You're right. So, I'll buy them from now on."
Josephine nodded, letting him have his way.
After eating, Stuart held her hand all the way back to the office.
Since Josephine was staying for the afternoon, Stuart took her to the lounge. "You can relax here and take a nap if you want."
Josephine looked around. The lounge was simple but had everything she needed.
A familiar scent filled the air as Stuart sat down next to her.
