Chapter 61 Enjoying the Happiness of Dating Multiple People
Since Stuart had already seen the items, Josephine decided to stay calm.
She said, "There are words on the bottle. Doesn't Mr. Haustia recognize them?"
Seeing her nonchalant attitude, Stuart felt even angrier. He yelled at her, "Josephine!"
Josephine thought his anger was completely unreasonable.
"You said you didn't want kids. Being your wife was already your biggest concession. The rest, you told me not to even think about," Josephine calmly repeated what Stuart had once said.
Stuart was momentarily stunned. "When did I ever say it?" he said, a hint of denial in his tone.
Josephine regretted not recording it.
It wasn't that Stuart had a bad memory; on the contrary, Stuart was smart and had a photographic memory.
If he said he didn't remember, it only meant he didn't want to remember.
Ultimately, it was because he never really cared about Josephine, so he didn't pay attention to what he had said.
Josephine felt a pang of bitterness in her heart and forced a smile. She patiently said, "You said it, and that's exactly how you feel. Since you don't want it, I won't force it."
"So you took the pills?" Stuart questioned as he gritted his teeth. Even hearing this reason couldn't quell his anger. "Josephine, doctors really are heartless. Do you know that you might already be pregnant? Are you going to kill our child?"
Doris had mentioned more than once that Josephine was too calm and couldn't learn to be emotional.
Stuart usually listened but didn't act on Doris's words.
However, at this moment, words like "cold-blooded, cruel, indifferent" were bombarding his thoughts.
Stuart suddenly threw the pill bottle against the wall, making a loud noise.
He grabbed Josephine's chin forcefully. He started to lash out, "Josephine, you're heartless, unfeeling, you..."
Before he could finish, Josephine looked at him calmly. She asked him, "Stuart, do you want me to have your child? Are you looking forward to our child's birth?"
Stuart was taken aback, his anger burning away all his rationality. He blurted out, "No way! Dream on!"
"Those are the exact words you said before," Josephine remarked as she broke free from his grip and turned her face away. "So, Stuart, I wasn't wrong to take the pills."
She didn't want Stuart to see the bitterness in her eyes but couldn't suppress the urge to snuffle.
Dr. Kalmien, always calm and collected in front of patients, was like a child in love, easily feeling wronged.
But feeling wronged was a luxury.
Only in front of those who cared about you could you have the right to feel wronged.
If no one cared, there was no point in feeling aggrieved.
Who would care if you felt wronged?
Josephine thought that maybe she still had hopes deep down, which was why she easily showed her emotions.
She despised herself for still having hopes.
Sure enough, Stuart glared at her angrily and said, "You have no right to make these decisions. Even if you want to take pills, it has to be my decision. What gives you the right to decide for yourself?"
Josephine closed her eyes.
Seeing this, Stuart was furious. "Josephine, speak up!" he demanded.
Josephine said, "I have nothing to say. Either I take the pills, or you use condoms. Mr. Haustia, have some mercy."
Her indifference only made Stuart feel like his anger was useless.
He was both angry and powerless.
"You said all this because you actually want to have my child, right?" Stuart suddenly laughed. Then he continued, "Having a child would make Grandpa happy, and your status in the Haustia family more secure. You deliberately let me see you taking the pills, then threw a tantrum, hoping I'd let you have a child in a fit of anger? Josephine, what a plan!"
Josephine opened her eyes, looking at him in disbelief.
What kind of logic was that?
"Am I right?" Stuart felt extremely satisfied seeing her reaction. He added, "Josephine, don't even think about it! If you want to take the pills, then take them. Remember to take them on time, don't miss a single dose!"
After saying that, he got up, stood by the bed, and looked down at her. He claimed, "This time, I'll remember what I said."
Josephine looked at him, her eyes filled with sadness and mockery.
Mocking herself and feeling sorry for herself.
"What kind of look is that?" Stuart questioned as he saw her expression and was displeased again.
He climbed back onto the bed, pressing down on Josephine. He scoffed, "Since you've taken the pills, we shouldn't waste it. Tonight, we can do it without worry, right?"
His voice was filled with mockery and arrogance, full of pride.
Josephine didn't move, but she said, "Flirting with Doris at work, and having your wife in bed at home. Mr. Haustia, you really are enjoying the happiness of dating multiple people."
"Shut up!" Stuart's anger flared up again. He retorted, "I won't deny what I've done. But don't think you can accuse me of things I haven't done!"
Josephine rebutted, "Cheating isn't just about sleeping together. Have you touched her with your hands? Have you kissed her with your lips? Stuart, don't look at me like that. I find you disgusting!"
"You!" Stuart said.
Stuart's eyes turned red, and Josephine even felt that he might punch her the next second.
She knew she couldn't beat Stuart, so she closed her eyes tightly in fear.
She heard a dull thud beside her ear. When she turned her head, she saw Stuart's fist had hit the bed, right next to her ear.
Josephine didn't know where she got the courage, but she pushed him away forcefully, got out of bed, picked up the pills, put them in her bag, and then took a quilt to lie on the sofa.
She didn't say a word, but her body language was full of rejection and coldness, which Stuart couldn't ignore.
Stuart felt a splitting headache and hit the bed again, not knowing what he was angry about.
After a long time, Josephine seemed to hear some unusual sounds in her sleep.
She opened her eyes, adjusted to the darkness, and heard Stuart's painful groans from the bed.
She quickly got up, walked to the bed, and touched Stuart's forehead.
It was burning hot.
Stuart had a fever.
Josephine patted his face and called his name, but Stuart didn't respond.
Josephine turned on a small bedside lamp, got some medicine from the house, and fed it to him. She also brought a basin of cold water.
Stuart's brows were furrowed, and even his eyelashes were trembling.
After taking his temperature, she found it was already 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Josephine felt a bit guilty.
Stuart had caught a cold after Liam splashed water on him that day, and she had opened the car window.
In any case, she was partly to blame.
She diligently wiped Stuart's body, his forehead, neck, armpits, and groin area.
She looked serious and focused, but while wiping his body, she couldn't help but feel his abs.
Stuart had an incredibly fit body. Usually, she was too shy, but now she took the opportunity to touch him more while he was unaware.
