Chapter 495 Fell Asleep Again

The next morning, Kathy sent a message to Josephine.

She had wanted to send it the night before, but it was too late, and she didn't want to disturb Josephine.

As a result, she sent it early in the morning but didn't receive a reply.

In the past, when they chatted, Josephine would reply quickly.

Maybe something came up, so Kathy didn't send another message.

She waited until almost ten o'clock.

Kathy had her own things to do, only occasionally checking her phone.

She didn't expect to wait so long.

Josephine replied: [I just woke up.]

Kathy replied: [You're sleeping in now?]

In her memory, Josephine used to get up early in the morning, too.

Sometimes they would chat in the morning.

To say the least, they got along very well.

Josephine often thought, even if Kathy couldn't be with Gerald, she had gained a good friend, which was great.

Josephine typed: [I don't know what's wrong these past two days, I'm always sleepy, so I slept a bit more.]

Kathy said: [It's normal to feel sleepy in winter.]

Josephine couldn't wait to ask: [Did Gerald reply to you last night? What did he say?]

Kathy said: [He didn't say much. Actually, I went to his workplace yesterday to give him a birthday gift, and he told me not to go there again.]

No wonder Gerald was still single!

Such a straightforward person, no wonder he didn't have a girlfriend!

But on the other hand, this also showed Gerald's attitude; he really didn't want to find a woman.

In Josephine's view, Kathy's qualities were already very good.

Highly educated, but not rigid, very nice, and also beautiful.

From the incident of compensating the worker's family, it was clear that she was responsible and kind.

Such a good girl, and Gerald still didn't like her.

It seemed he really planned to stay single for life.

Josephine thought for a moment and replied: [Kathy, maybe you should give up. Gerald is not worth you being so good to him. If this continues, I'm afraid it will delay you.]

Kathy replied: [I know. Anyway, I haven't met anyone I like, so it won't delay me, don't worry.]

Josephine said: [Even without Gerald, I hope we can be friends.]

Kathy: [I thought we were already friends.]

Josephine: [Of course we are! But I would prefer you to be my sister-in-law, it's just that Gerald doesn't have that luck. He's just a fool!]

Kathy: [It's okay, Josephine, Gerald is great, it's just that we don't have fate.]

Josephine: [Then I'll introduce you to other guys, I know many excellent ones!]

Kathy replied with a thank you.

They chatted for a while longer, and Josephine decided to go home.

Nicole was arranging flowers.

She used to either lie down or sit and daydream at home.

Now she seemed to have a new lease on life, either going out with friends or finding things she liked to do at home.

"Mom." Josephine ran over and hugged her arm. "The flowers look beautiful."

"Do you want to learn?" Nicole asked her, "It can calm your mind."

"Did Gerald make you angry again?"

"No." Nicole said, "I've given up hope on him. If he wants to stay single, let him be."

"Exactly." Josephine said, "Anyway, Ulysses is already grown up."

"Why are you here? Is Mr. Haustia feeling better?"

Josephine replied, "Much better. Mom, I came back to ask if you still have the information on those young talents you prepared for me before?"

Nicole was stunned. "What do you need that for? Did you have a fight with Stuart?"

"What are you thinking?" Josephine said helplessly."I'm asking for a friend. I have a friend who is still single."

"Who is it? Why haven't I heard you mention her before?" Nicole immediately became interested.

She stopped arranging flowers, put down her tools, and led Josephine to sit down. "Tell me about her."

Josephine said: "Actually, I've mentioned her before, it's Kathy."

Josephine had indeed mentioned her before, and Nicole nodded. "Oh, I remember. But she's not young anymore, I might need to filter out some younger ones."

Josephine said, "That's not necessarily true; some people might prefer someone older."

"You're right." Nicole took out her phone. "I made a file back then, take a look."

Josephine couldn't help but admire Nicole's professionalism.

They were engrossed in their research when there was a noise at the door.

They looked over and saw it was Gerald.

Nicole was puzzled. "Why are you back at this time?"

Gerald said, "I have a last-minute business trip, so I came back to get my luggage."

Josephine stood up. "Gerald, let me help you pack."

"No need." Gerald said, "Why are you here? What are you two looking at?"

Before Josephine could speak, Nicole said, "Josephine's friend, Kathy, asked me to find her a match."

Gerald glanced at Josephine.

Josephine said, "Yes, Kathy is so excellent, it's a pity she's not dating anyone. So I asked mom to introduce some young talents, there must be one suitable for her."

She looked closely at Gerald, but his face showed no expression.

He said, "You two continue, I'll go upstairs."

He went upstairs, and Josephine couldn't stand it anymore. She said, "Mom, I'll go help Gerald pack."

Nicole nodded. "Go ahead."

Josephine went upstairs, knocked on the door, and, hearing a sound inside, she pushed the door open.

Gerald was putting things into his suitcase.

Josephine asked, "Gerald, where are you going?"

Gerald mentioned a nearby county, not far away.

Josephine asked, "How many days?"

She said this while helping Gerald with his clothes. Seeing a scarf nearby, she asked, "Gerald, it's colder there, right? Take a scarf?"

"No need." Gerald glanced at her. "You don't need to help, I can do it myself."

Josephine saw a row of scarves in his closet and asked, "Gerald, you have so many scarves, but I've never seen you wear one."

Gerald said, "I'm not in the habit."

"Okay." Josephine handed him a down jacket. "Take this."

Gerald said helplessly, "No need."

"No, it's getting colder." Josephine insisted and put it in his suitcase.

They quickly finished packing and went downstairs.

Nicole asked, "Leaving already?"

Gerald said, "Yes."

Nicole gave him a few instructions, which Gerald acknowledged, and then he left.

Josephine stayed for lunch, and after eating, she planned to take a nap but received a call from Stuart saying he was coming to pick her up.

So she had to wait on the sofa.

Nicole brought over the flowers she hadn't finished arranging and saw Josephine had fallen asleep on the sofa.

She smiled and covered her with a blanket.

When Stuart arrived, he came inside without waking Josephine.
