Chapter 565 Going Bankrupt
Isadora's skin was delicate, and her ten fingers were even more tender.
On the smooth and soft back of her hand, a few red spots were particularly conspicuous.
"Serves you right!" Ulysses resisted the urge to do something and said coldly, "Aren't you going to buy some burn ointment?"
"I've never bought it before, I don't know how to buy it, and I don't know what kind to buy," Isadora looked at him. "Why don't you help me buy it?"
"You don't know? The clerk will tell you," Ulysses said. "Go if you want!"
Isadora lowered her eyes, remained silent, and watched him cut fruit beside her.
After a while, Ulysses couldn't help it. "Aren't you going?"
Isadora said, "I'm not going. Anyway, no one cares about me. If it hurts to death, so be it."
Ulysses took a deep breath and put down the fruit knife. "Are you stupid? Are you crazy?"
"Yeah, I'm crazy," Isadora looked at him.
Ulysses gritted his teeth, looked at her for a few seconds, couldn't hold back, and looked away first.
The next second, he grabbed Isadora's wrist and pulled her out.
Ulysses's face was ashen, as if he were about to fight someone.
Isadora laughed so hard that all eight of her teeth were showing.
There was a pharmacy next door. Ulysses dragged her over and placed her in front of the counter. "Give her a burn ointment."
After saying that, he was about to leave.
Isadora said, "I don't have any money."
Ulysses laughed angrily. "You don't have money?"
Everyone at school knew her family was rich. She wore designer brands every day, and the birthday gifts she casually gave to her roommates were worth tens of thousands of dollars.
"Yeah, I didn't bring my phone," Isadora said.
Ulysses paid for her.
Isadora held the ointment and followed him. "You apply it for me!"
"Can't you do it by yourself ?"
"I don't know how," Isadora followed him matter-of-factly. "You might as well do a good deed to the end! Anyway, if you don't help me, I won't apply it."
Ulysses took another deep breath.
He felt that if he stayed with Isadora any longer, he would really be angered to the extreme..
He applied the ointment for her.
Isadora kept watching him.
When Ulysses did things, he was very focused and serious.
Isadora then noticed that his eyelashes were very long, and his nose was very straight.
Isadora was mesmerized and couldn't help but raise her hand to gently touch his eyelashes.
Ulysses looked up, and his eyelashes brushed against her fingertips, tickling.
"What are you doing?" Ulysses instinctively leaned back.
"Nothing," Isadora feigned innocence. "Is it done?"
Ulysses hummed in response.
"Thank you!" Isadora looked at him with satisfaction. "You're really nice."
Ulysses glanced at her helplessly.
No wonder people said she was simple. Ulysses thought she was really not bad.
When they returned to the store, Ulysses said, "Don't touch hot water anymore. Wash the fruit instead. You can't do nothing."
"Got it."
As it turned out, she didn't know how to wash fruit either.
Ulysses now understood what it meant to be a pampered princess.
She really hadn't done any housework.
"Do you do nothing at home?"
Isadora said, "We have a maid. The food I eat is all washed."
"If you didn't have a maid, would you starve to death?"
"How could I? I have my mom," Isadora said. "And there's takeout. How could I let myself starve to death?"
Ulysses suddenly asked her, "Are you still chasing me?"
Isadora said, "I'm chasing you right now. Can't you tell?"
"Alright," Ulysses said. "I like girls who can cook, so you're not suitable."
"You!" Isadora stomped her foot in anger. "You're doing this on purpose!"
Ulysses said, "I really like girls who can cook. And, Isadora, don't you think we're not suitable? You can't do anything, and I can't take care of you all the time."
"I..."
"Don't say anything," Ulysses said. "We're not suitable."
He turned and went to the front desk.
Isadora washed the fruit angrily and muttered, "It's progress. He used to say he didn't like me, now he says we're not suitable! Hmm, I've made progress!"
For a while after that, Isadora often appeared around Ulysses.
Wherever he went to work, she followed.
Sometimes she inevitably caused trouble, and Ulysses had to clean up after her.
But looking at her bright smile, Ulysses couldn't bring himself to scold her.
Clearly, he used to be very smooth when retorting to her, but now, somehow, he couldn't say it.
Ulysses simply fell silent.
Gradually, he got used to Isadora being around him.
But today, from noon to evening, no matter where he went, he didn't see Isadora.
He asked other colleagues, and they said they hadn't received any notice of Isadora taking leave.
Ulysses was worried but didn't want Isadora to know, so he asked a colleague to message Isadora.
But no one replied.
Ulysses couldn't help but feel anxious.
Usually, when Isadora was around him, chattering, he found it annoying.
Now that she wasn't here, he should have felt peaceful, but somehow, he kept thinking about her.
Finally, he couldn't hold back and called Isadora. Like his colleagues, no one answered.
Ulysses told the manager and left work early, taking a cab straight to Isadora's place.
He knew where Isadora lived; he had taken her there before.
When he arrived at her house, he went upstairs and knocked on the door, but no one was inside.
He asked a few classmates and found out that Isadora hadn't gone to school today.
Where did she go?
Did she know that disappearing suddenly would make people worry?
Ulysses was so angry that he wanted to smash the stair railing.
He thought for a moment and took a cab to Isadora's family home.
She had told Ulysses where her family lived, without any sense of security.
But now, Ulysses was glad she had told him.
When he arrived, he found it was a villa area. As soon as he got out of the cab, he saw Isadora.
Actually, Isadora had gone home last night and found that her parents weren't in the living room. She wanted to surprise them in the study, but outside, she overheard that the family was about to go bankrupt.
Isadora immediately pushed the door open and cried, "Mom, Dad, is what you said true?"
At this point, they couldn't hide it anymore.
Zander explained the situation to her, and the next day, Isadora started looking for investors.
The villa area was full of wealthy people, some of whom she knew and had good relationships with.
But at this time, it seemed like everyone wanted to keep their distance from her. When they saw her, they ran away faster than anyone else.
Isadora then realized how fickle people could be, prioritizing their own interests.
She also knew that a super-rich person lived in the community, but she didn't know which house, so she went to the gate to block his car.
Who knew, Ulysses saw her.
Ulysses saw her, but she didn't see Ulysses.
She happened to stop that person's car. "Hello, can you help my dad? If you help our family through this difficult time, then..."
